Sometimes preaching, witnessing and other acts of love can be very tough, physically and spiritually and mentally.

So those who sow in tears can reap in jooy.

The seeds are palnted and a harvest of joy can mean the goodness of God bringing about a harvest of love and goodness from sadness and grief.

Here is another scripture reflecting your answer.

Galatians 6: 7-10; 7) Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

8) For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

9) And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, If we faint not (loose heart).

10) As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Ps 30:5

It means that in whatever way you suffer, you will gain joy somehow, someday. No suffering is ever lost on God. He sees and knows about all of it, and there will come a day and time when He will make sure you experience abundant joy for all you've had to go through that caused you suffering. Very comforting, isn't it.

That no matter how you suffer in this life, if you are saved by Jesus Christ, who brings you to the Father:

"Never again will they hunger;

never again will they thirst.

The sun will not beat upon them,

or any scorching heat.

For the Lamb at the ceter before the throne

will be their shepherd;

He will lead them to springs of living water.

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes".

(Rev 7:16-17)

In other words, this life that we live in, which brings heartache, tribulation, and much sorrow will be gone once we have entered the kingdom of God. Then we will experience true joy.

Remember the times... "Sowing" was taking FOOD and throwing it on the ground. In times where food was scarce, this was a REAL act of faith.

...Quite literally in those times, if the harvest failed, some or all of the family might DIE. That is enough to make "sowing" a rather emotional activity, thus "sow in tears." Obviously then, the harvest would be a time of joy.

To "sow in tears" refers to the sign given in Isa. 37:30

And this [shall be] a sign unto thee, Ye shall eat [this] year such as groweth of itself; and the second year that which springeth of the same: and in the third year sow ye, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruit thereof.

It means you will recieve the reward of heaven one day and that all your pains and hurts suffered for being a believer in Christ will bring you eternal happiness. In the book of Revelation it says , "Man has not seen, ear has not heard nor has it entered into the mind what God has in store for those who love Him."I know we can imagine lots of beauty and happiness, but Christ says we cannot begin to imagine what awaits us when we go to Him. This is so meaningful.

when you spread God's word, and tell people about it, the first instinct they have will to reject you. rejection's really hard, and the people you're telling about God to might even say bad things about you, but you just have to go through it, have faith in God, and be strong. once you suffer through spreading His word, God will make their faith grow, and then you can watch in joy as more and more people get to know God each day and accept Him.

for example, i witnessed to this person who was about to give up on God, and gave him the Bible verse, Luke 1:31 For nothing is impossible with God, and when i was done witnessing i said bye and left. the next day i got a letter saying, Thank you, my faith has been strengthened again and you even got me to read the whole chapter of Luke 1.

What this means to me is; those who truly, sincerely 'feel' the pain of others and pray for them, often cry their tears.

They may even cry the tears of the Lord when they feel His pain and agony, as He watches over us.

These tears actually do bring joy to the heart, as strange as this may seem. It is also a cleansing of the soul. God fills our hearts with His love, as we remove the pain and suffering. God is so good to us...

People who repent during times of extreme trial (for example, in the coming tribulation, just ahead) will cry from the pain and anguish but will ultimately rejoice when Christ returns during the first harvest (verse 6), bringing his sheaves with him.

It means that if you "suffer" to do good things (and doing good things do take effort) then you will happily reap the benefits (in the Afterlife).

I am not Christian but this is a common ideology in religions.

sometimes people who witness for Christ Jesus get very badly beaten, mocked ridiculed to the point that they shed tears, but knowing the Lord also suffered the same fate, the LOrd gives them strenght to rejoice in their trials as servants are not greater than the master.

Paul said "This seed is Christ" (Gal.3:16) The sheaves are symbolic of the harvest which, at long last, is righteousness.
