this article was written by a preacher, also a son of a preacher, they both converted to Islam along with their priest freind.

I think no one knows the Bible more than he.

Whose Word Is It?

It is an extreme position held only by some Christian groups that the Bible – in its entirety - cover to cover is the revealed word of God in every word, but they do a clever thing when they mention this, or make this claim. They will say that the Bible in its entirety is the word of God; inerrant (no mistakes) in the original writings.

So if you go to the Bible and point out some mistakes that are in it you are going to be told: Those mistakes were not there in the original manuscript, they have crept in so that we see them there today.

They are going on problem in that position. There is a verse in the Bible Isaiah 40:8 which in fact is so well known that some Bibles printed it on the inside front cover as an introduction and it says : “ The grass weathers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever”. Here is a claim in the Bible that the word of God will stand forever, it will not be corrupted, it won't be lost. So if today you find a mistake in the Bible you have two choices. Either that promise was false that when God said my word wont fade away, he was mistaken, or the portion which has the mistake in it was not a part of the word of God in the first place, because the promise was that it would be safeguarded, it would not be corrupted.

If the Bible was written by men who were not inspired by the Holy Ghost then it would contain errors it.

It would be compared to the Book of Mormon which has been changed thousands of time in an attempt to cover up leads that would indicated Joseph Smith fabricated it.

It would have contradictions and it would be just like another literature text. It would not be alive or effective since it would fail to accomplish what it said it would do. I think we may become bored with it after we have read it a couple of times.

If the Bible were written by uninspired men, it would only appeal to the soul, it would not offer instruction or light to reveal the Spirit of God. It would not express wisdom concerning the nature and things of God.

The words of an uninspired Bible would be just as the lines from Shakespeare's plays and would be pointless to quote in the hour of temptation and insufficient to give hope in rough situations, hard times, depression and times of need.

It would not convict men of sin or adequately reveal God to fallen man who desperately need God and seek after him. It would not contain counsel that would be applicable to past generations and generations to come.

After awhile, it would go out of print and would not be like the true living Word of God which states: even heaven and earth shall pass away: but the word of God shall not pass away [St. Luke 21: 33].

(one million) The Bible has approximately forty human authors, who wrote throughout a interval spanning one million, six hundred years. (two) The Bible has one divine Author--God. The Bible makes this declare (two Ti. three:sixteen; two Pe. one million:20-21). Many evidences aid this declare: The solidarity of the Bible; the indestructibility of the Bible; the concord of the Bible; the common attraction of the Bible; the perennial significance of the Bible; the fulfilled prophecies of the Bible; and the findings of archaeology regarding the Bible; and so on.; all reveal the Bible to be of divine beginning.

Can a person read a book and tell if it is inspired or not?

I've read the Book of Mormon and it read like a novel.

I've read the Koran and it read like it was impromptu recitation from an illerate poet.

I've read the holy manuscripts of Buddhism and they were nothing but a bunch of fairy tales.

I've read certain books that the Protestants left out of the Bible like the Book of Wisdom and it reads just like the other books that were included in the Bible.

The various scriptures cannot prove themselves. It all comes down to individual faith.

This is a brilliant question.

Jesus was sowing the word of God in the Parable of the Sower (Luke 8:11).

And I can assure you, that he was not sowing out Bibles. So your suspicions are right... because that Original Word of God was not a book. This will explain what the Real eternal non-changing word of God was all about: http://gospelenigma.com

It would sound more like a diary entry

I saw jesus today and he did this and this. Boy was he really mad at the religious leaders.

I think they are a bunch of idiots.

Some thing along that lines.

They would be writing and saying this is what i think or here is what I believe.

It would be the same. The bible wasn't inspired by god, it was inspired by man's ideologies

Men did write it. It's a collection of Bronze Age myths and legends. Written by men who didn't understand much of the world around them, edited by men who wanted to use religion to control the populace.

The glaring inaccuracies that would have been obvious to an all-knowing god shows that no divine inspiration was involved in the invention of the stories contained in the bible.

Perhaps there's a reason Mark Twain called the Book of Mormon "Laudanum in book form". I understand his feeling when trying to read the Quran.

Since you believe Joseph Smith wrote the book of mormon, I would guess the bible would be a lot like the book of mormon.. Oh wait, it is!

It probably wouldn't have as many prophecies fulfilled.

It also wouldn't be filled with such a good message of love.

It was written by men who were supposedly "inspired by God".

I guess you could say their inspiration was definitely lacking in places!

Men did write it. Why would you think otherwise?

If God had not had them do it no one would question it.

It would be exactly the same, because it wasn't inspired by god.
