Please help me...had a life-altering experience and I feel like I need to connect with Christ?

Like, this is my chance to change it all. Everything that ever went wrong in my life wasn't his fault, but was his will. That everything happened because he knew that it would all work out in the end.

I understand the concept, and that to look to the Lord is really for the better. Can anyone help give me a sense of direction as how to start my quest of connecting with Christ?

Hi!

What a great question! I started in prayer. I was like you when I first came to Christ. I wasn't Catholic though.

I would pray then look up my questions in the KJV bible but now that I know that the NASB (New American Standard) is more accurate then I would suggest this Bible.

I had questions about living my life in Him, death, raising children, following Him & how to do what He so desires us to do. All these things I did really brought me much closer to Jesus.

I prayed a lot & asked for His guidance. I really wanted to do what was right so I searched through the New Testament to find how He wants His children to live.

I know this sounds so simple but it really is! I couldn't stop hungering & thirsting for His Word.

On another note, you may want to learn The Lord's Prayer. It was the prayer that Jesus taught His disciples how to pray with.

You may need a good concordence for showing you answers in scripture. You can use the internet but I'd look for scripture based text only in answers to your questions not articles as much.

If you get really stuck on a question, there is always a great band of followers on Yahoo answers that love our Lord dearly, that would kindly answer or point you to the proper scriptures.:)

Hugs & God Bless You!

Your Sis In Christ Jesus, Faithful

PS: I am Protestant. We do not pray through Mary but through Jesus Christ as scripture teaches us to do. I believe that you can have a deep personal relationship with Christ as a Roman Catholic but that the Holy Spirit is the only One that can lead you into all truth regarding the scriptures. Only God has the power the forgive you & cover your sins, this is scriptural. Jesus is the only way.:)

Call out to Him in faith and He will hear you.

Believe He is God who loves you and gave His only Son to die on the cross for you.

Admit that you are a sinner.

Confess your sin.

Thank Him for the free gift of salvation.

Go to a Bible believing church tomorrow and see if they have a Bible that you can have and any literature to help you grow as a new believer in Christ.

Read the Bible by starting with the gospel of John.

Spend time reading the Bible every day.

Pray every day.

Worship with other believers and get involved in a Bible study and/or a Sunday school class through the church.

You will receive encouragement, help, strength, and hope from other believers.

I believe Christianity is a relationship, not a religion. And like all good relationships, there has to be an aspect of emotional intimacy. Go to a quiet place where no one will bother you. It'll be just you and God. I prefer the early mornings, myself.

Praying isn't just fancy words, but a way of speaking directly to Jesus. Ask him to reveal himself to you, worship him. Having an intimate relationship with Christ is pretty much all I could ask for.

Prayer is talking with God, so go off of that. Spend some time with God-- even just a few minutes everyday.

I know it can be annoying, but devotions really can help one connect with God, as well. ^^ I discover things through my devotionals that make me go, "Huh!" and I start to pray it over for understanding.

If the experience was bad, ask God why it happened or what you did to make it happen, maybe? But what's done is done, so just look for guidance on what to do next, not for what should have happened.

If it was good, pray it over and see what God may be trying to tell you through it all. ^^

I hope you find what you're looking for real soon. ^^

If you don't know any Christians that you respect enough to ask questions of, perhaps you should simply look in the yellow pages for a non-denominational church near you. Find someone who can study the Bible with you and learn more about God. Then you can make further decisions as you learn.

Hey Anna! The first thing you can do is understand who Christ is and what He has done for you. Briefly, Jesus Christ is God and He came to earth to die for your sins and for mine. He did this because He is just and He cannot allow all of our sins to go unpunished. But because He loved us so much, He preferred to pay for our sins Himself than to have us pay the price for them.

The price for sin is ultimately separation from God in hell. I'm not saying that to judge, but just to tell you that is the way it is. But fortunately for us, Jesus died and bore your sins and mine on His body when He died. His wrath was satisfied. He wants you to know Him as your Savior and Lord.

There is nothing you can do to earn Your way to Him. No good thing we can ever do can somehow pay for the wrongs each of us has done. All you can do to begin your relationship with Him is to accept His gift of forgiveness and access into heaven. He died in your place and rose again. So one day, you will rise to and live with Him in heaven.

Beyond that, the next thing you can do is read the book of John in the Bible. This book will help you understand more about Jesus, who He is, what He is like and what He has done. As you read the book, pray and talk to Him about what you are learning.

You can also find a Bible-believing church to become a part of. Denomination really doesn't matter all that much, as long as they believe the Bible is the ultimate authority for life. Start talking with other believers.

If you don't understand any of that, please let me know. I'm happy to clarify.

The Bible teaches us that, l. we need to believe that HE (GOD) is

2. that HE is a rewarder of those that diligently

seek HIM

In Isaiah 43:25 reads thus: I. even I. am HE that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

Isaiah 44: 22 - I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.

Don't worry if God will forgive you because of what happened, just accept HIS GRACE, LOVE, and FORGIVENESS

Those that come unto HIM, HE will in NO wise cast out.

READ and PRAY Psalm 51:10 - 12

Then go to Acts chapter 2 verses 36 -42

I will pray for you that you will find your peace with God.

you want to "connect" with christ?

Why not just believe in God?

No other being can give you true redemption and free you of your sins. Jesus is not God.

Jesus is what the government created to give you something LIKE God just like they did in giving you electricity (like the sun), Telephone poles (like the trees), virtual reality (like reality)

but having something LIKE the real thing just doesn't cut it
