Does the history of humans Governing humans, always lead to non-violence?

Is Peaceful human governance truly invisible ?

Since all religion involving several gods or a supreme God are irrelevant to them.....then the problem is in humans, of which shows no hope for peace .

So...What purpose does hope really serve Atheists?

I'm sure many of them DO believe in peaceful human governance.

If you haven't noticed, the majority of violent governments were religious.

Why cannot atheists have hope in God? Do they Hope in Peaceful Human governance?

---B/c the God concept has no evidence and is, in many descriptions, logically impossible.

Does the history of humans Governing humans, always lead to non-violence?

---no. Humans are violent. Religion is probably just an excuse to be violent towards other humans.

Is Peaceful human governance truly invisible ?

---'invisible' ? I'm assuming that you have some deeper/higher meaning for this and I don't know what it is. At a guess I would say that no government is 'invisible' since government, almost by definition, means changing people's actions and that requires a presence, an observable action.

Since all religion involving several gods or a supreme God are irrelevant to them.....then the problem is in humans, of which shows no hope for peace .

---I don't think you've proven that humans CAN'T ever be peaceful. I think we could with some serious alteration of our basic nature (genetic engineering, separation, physical separation and struggle to survive against the elements,HESDVP, cybernetic peace-training modules perhaps, brainwashing from birth, something. Just singing 'Kumbaya' doesn't seem to be enough. Nor does going to church.

So...What purpose does hope really serve Atheists?

---so hope is only for the purpose of peace ? Not 'love' or warp drive to get to a planet not full of other people ? Frankly, though, I have to say, I have hope for what humanity could one day be. I also have a stubborn will to live. Call it 'instinct'. I do. Anyway, you go ahead and 'hope' for God to make everything better. Be my guest.

All governments have been run by humans. Some of them have had the gall to say that they get their orders from a god.

Many people think that it is beneficial for most people in a society to believe in a creator — that the more faithful a society is, the more likely it is to be safe and peaceful. However, a 2005 study by Gregory S. Paul shows that a high level of religious belief correlates with more crimes and other social problems. From the study's abstract: “Large-scale surveys show dramatic declines in religiosity in favor of secularization in the developed democracies... Data correlations show that in almost all regards the highly secular democracies consistently enjoy low rates of societal dysfunction, while pro-religious and antievolution America performs poorly.”

Atheism works well for free societies. Free nations with high levels of atheism — such as Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Australia, Switzerland and Japan — are among the healthiest, wealthiest, most educated, and most free societies on Earth. Sweden, with a population that is least likely to go to church, has the lowest crime rate in the industrialized world. Denmark, estimated to be between 43% and 80% atheists and agnostics, is listed as the happiest nation in the results of a 2008 poll by The World Values Surveys. It's also interesting that Denmark legalized gay marriages in 1989.

"A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion. Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom they consider god-fearing and pious. On the other hand, they do less easily move against him, believing that he has the gods on his side."

— Aristotle (ca. 384-322 BCE)

Secular nations tend to be quite peaceful, and heavily religious nations tend to be involved in violent conflict more often than not.

Human governance that admits it's human governance works quite well. Human governance that claims to be acting on behalf of a god usually fails.

Do you have hope in things which you don't believe exist, such as the Tooth Fairy or leprechauns?

Cynicism based on experience has robbed me of hope in "peaceful human governance". As long as humans remain greedy for power, there will be no true peace.

Hope serves the same purpose for atheists that it does for believers.

Atheists believe that humans have to make peace for themselves, rather than wait for a supernatural being to impose it for us. Hope may feel nice, but actually doing something has the better chance of changing anything.

there is no such thing as peace on earth, major religions all prophesize a great and terrible time of war right at the end times, which means war will be present until the world ends, war will always find a way even in the peaceful of places, if you want real peace get to heaven or die trying.

What purpose does hope serve anybody? It's not like your magic spaceman is going to ever show up to solve any problems for you.

Hope in anything ultimately does nothing but give you a warm feeling... and that goes for atheists as well. Doesn't mean we don't have it, just that it isn't in a god...

Action is the only thing that accomplishes anything... I can 'hope' for a car, but going and working for it is the only proven way to get it... I doubt seriously that your god would just make one magically appear in my driveway...

I can have hope in some sort of benevolent God. Heck, I can have hope that Natalie Portman falls madly in love with me.

But i don't have faith in it.

We can hope, we just can't believe without evidence. I HOPE I'm wrong, but that isn't a basis for belief.

Hope does nothing

We have to govern ourselves, because theres no one to do it for us.

The really important question is......

Why do you believe in things that aren't there?
Got Proof?

Human governance has been shown to exist. Gods have not.

Academia states that in the absence of proof of the existence of something it must be deemed not to exist until verifiable proof is found - thus god is held not to exist pending some sort of verifiable evidence.

There is not one single mention of Jesus in the entire Roman record - that is right - not one! At the same time as he was supposed to have been around there were a number of Jews claiming to be the messiah - all of whom are well recorded!

There is not a single contemporary record from any source and even the bible mentions of him like all other references were not written until many years after his supposed death!

He was supposed to have been a huge problem to the Romans and produced wonderful miracles but still not one contemporary record?

Even the bible mentions of him like all other references were not written until many years after his supposed death!

Pilate is recorded in the Roman record as a somewhat lack luster man but no mention of a Jesus, a trial or crucifixion that would surely have been used to make him look brighter!

At best he was an amalgam of those others but almost certainly never existed!

The Roman Emperor Constantine produced the bible and he was a pagan not god!!! He took the Jewish religion and basing it on the Mithras religion, organized it into Christianity and then into the Holly Roman Catholic Church!! Not in Israel or any of the countries of supposed origin but entirely ITALIAN!

Not one word of it is contemporary with the period and was not written until several hundred years after the period the story is set in!! How did the apostles write their books more than a hundred years after they would have been dead?

What a wonder full disinformation and deception campaign he waged against his Jewish enemies by turning them into his invented Christianity - so good in fact that Christians are still following the deception to this day!

The first person to provide a shred of verifiable evidence for God will become world famous and mega rich!! Ain't happened yet and it never will!

So how does this primitive belief survive? The answer is simple and very down to Earth

Acceptance of a supernatural claim tends to promote cooperative social relationships. This communication demonstrates a willingness to accept, without skepticism, the influence of the speaker in a way similar to a child's acceptance of the influence of a parent. By encouraging this kind of behavior where the most intense social relationships occur it facilitates the lack of skepticism and deters more open minded thinking.

They are christian, Muslim or the other religions depending where they were born simply because they were indoctrinated by their parents as very young children. They will go on to indoctrinate their own children and those will go on to indoctrinate their grandchildren!

Atheists have the intellect to see through the conditioning and escape into the real world!

Agnostics have the intellect to see through the conditioning but lack the courage to throw of the conditioning entirely.

Sadly Christians are still held firmly prisoner by the self perpetuating brainwashing!
