Because man said so and whatever mans says just is. But no, really, they say that to take credit for anything good isn't right. I mean, everything good is because of God, or something like that.

Very good question, this always comes up when i talk to my husband when he says it is the word of God. The real words of God are the 10 Commandments. And the words of Jesus in the new testament. The rest is poems from people some unknown authors , letters to specific people and churches, visions and dreams. Also stories of miracles and people personal experience which are in there to learn about God and Jesus I have a problem with people saying it is the exact word of God. If that was so why didn't the bible drop out of the sky like the 10 commandments that came down. Also why aren't ALL the other letters and scriptures that the disciples wrote in the bible. if you really believe every word is what God said then you have to follow all of it not pick and choose God bless. When the ‘word of man’ is inspired by God’s grace then it becomes ‘the word of God’. This doesn’t mean each word was exclusively delivered by the almighty, only that a text conveys spiritually enlightening content

Those users of this forum responding with comments that the Bible was somehow ‘dictated’ by God or words were ‘put into Man’s head’ are incorrect. God does not tell Man what to do, but guides him. As is S.E.P. wrong when he assumed the Bible is without contradiction, for it is redolent with the most fundamental of conflicting sentiment, both between and within testaments. Doogie T also confuses ‘giving of information’ for the imparting of spiritual inspiration.

James o ‘s description of parts of the Bible being ‘larger’ than those authors is interesting given the brutal backdrop in which the New Testament was written and it’s chronologically inconsistent advanced content.

The opinion expressed by s.r is one of extreme faith. Not a faith in the way of God but in the works of the men, who wrote the Bible, and such devoted trust in the printed opinions of those claiming to represent God is unwise

There is no evidence whatsoever that shows that the Bible is the Word of God.

However, if you read it, after a while you begin to see what folks have seen for centuries: that there is more here than just some idle dreamings of the men or women who wrote them. There is some real inspiration there. That, of course, is a far, far cry from the notion that the texts are dictated by God, but if there is a God, it's not too hard to think that this God had some hand in inspiring some (SOME!!!!) of the Bible.

Parts of the Bible seem larger than the writers.

However, let us not forget that there are parts of the Bible that are the sum total of the greed and avarice and racism of the men who wrote it.

The Bible is thought by many to be the Word of God. That's because the laws show a viable way to live for the people who needed those laws. If I knew how to teach everyone what to do, and my theory worked to make them prosper and survive among other peoples, I could call it the Word of God, and be believed. The book of Mormon is an example of the same principle and so are a lot of other religious writings of different religions and different peoples. You got a problem with that?

If God actually sent us something he wrote, how long would it take before the petty discussions over right/wrong were determined by men, rather than God? Even the Word written by man has been used to batter people emotionally.

How long before it would have to be put under protection, so it wouldn't get vandalized? Who would protect it? The paid or the righteous? Who would decide the righteous?

How long would it take before political groups disclaimed/discredited it?

How much longer would it take before actual wars began over ownership?

Maybe it is the word of man that is blessed by God? Like professors and historians bless a "classic"? Knowing our nature as God does, maybe "by the people, for the people" was His inspiration?

The Bible words were inspired by God. He put the words into man's head and then they were written down. When he created Adam , he was just a lump of clay that had been formed. Then He blew into him the spirit of life and Adam became human. Well, God did the same thing to the prophets and gave them insights that they had previously not understood. They were passed down through the generations and then finally written down for us today. Read the Bible . You will be greatly surprised what a fantastic book it is.

The Bible was written by men, whom were inspired by the Holy Spirit. This Spirit, gave them the information to write the words that God wanted to be written down so all can read and understand.

This is called Divine Inspiration.

It tells us believers that God inspired early writers to write his works by giving them visions of him.

Another way that Man wrote it is called Divine Dictation.

According to Bible researchers, Divine Dictation is when God, through a dream or vision, tells writers to write down this or that...

Christians beleive that God is active and working in people's lives today. If that is not something that you have experiences personally, then I see how it would be hard to understand that he was actively working in the lives of those who wrote the bible to inspire them to write exactly what he wanted written.

2 Peter 1:20 (New Living Translation Bible)

Above all, you must understand that no prophecy in Scripture ever cme from the prophets themselves or because they wanted to prophesy. It was the Holy Spirit who moved the prophets to speak from God.

It means that no Biblical author wrote one letter of the Bible unless God wanted it to be written exactly that way. God is sovereign (over all things...in charge of all things..knowing all things)...So, He used His sovereignty to "write" the Bible through men.

God showed the writers of the bible what to say. And 40 different authors over thousands of years don't contradict each other. That's pretty amazing, and shows God's awesome presence throughout because it wasn't like those authors could collaborate...

because if u open up your bible and read it god tells u and the writers tell you that it was gods holy spirit that inspired them

Man wrote it and "said" this is the word of God.
2008-10-27 05:48:50 UTC
They say it was like having scribes... writing varying parts of the book... over centuries...

This goes a LONG way to explaining the inconsistencies, contradictions, lies, and completely wrong science. It took a dozen or two people to compile it, and between them they didn't even have half a mind.

It's all "allegory" and "mystery"

Two words, of two Gods:

Law: the word of alienation

Grace: the word of reconciliation

Law: given to them (by Moses)

Grace: given to us (by JC)

they are contrary things:

lie and truth

death and life

beneath and above

For compare-i-son, not for mix-two-are = oxy-MORON

Either you're reconciling Or you're alienating

Either you're gathering Or you're scattering

Scattering: Lawing: is done by scatter brained ppl

Jesus unto Peter(Satan): When thou art converted,

then strengthen(grace mercy peace) thy (law) brethren
