Question:
Can You Hear Silence?
?

I was just lying in bed with everything off all windows closed etc. My room was completely silent, and I suddenly felt I could hear the silence if you know what I mean???

Yeah kinda dumb question but what the hell I know what I mean.

Yes I know what you mean and I LOVE that kind of silence, it is restorative of body and soul in today's fast paced world.

You never really hear pure silence. What happens is youre hearing sounds to subtle and jumbled together for you to make them out. You start hearing your own heart beat and lungs pump and on some occasions you can hear the pulses of neurons in your brain (which is wierd). A calm winter day causes a sort of silent feeling but youre really just having part of your hearing ignore the extra sounds of snow.

looks such as you're listening to harmonics... and what reasons them is vibration at a definite pitch. yet isn't silence the absense of sound? perhaps we by no skill actually hear silence by way of fact there is consistent sound... even that of our respiration and pass. although, specific, without logical foundation, i've got self belief you may hear silence. and that i think of it looks like harmonics... a sort of great cosmic omh...

Hearing - sound waves hitting the little hairs in your ears

Silence - absence of sound

Not totally. I think we only REALLY hear silence when we die.

If you are referring to a faint sustained hum/ring, when its really quiet you can hear electronics.

When you can hear nothing else, you can hear your insides moving around.

No, but you can perceive it. Perceiving is different than hearing.
