1. Where did the space for the universe come from?
2. Where did matter come from?
3. Where did the laws of the universe come from (gravity, inertia, etc.)
4. How did matter get so perfectly organized
5. Where did the energy come from to do all the organizing?
6. When, where, why, and how did life come from dead matter?
7. When, where, why, and how did life learn to reproduce itself?
8. If we came from a common ancestor of the ape, where did it come from?

Oh, look, massive argument from ignorance fallacy mixed with bad science, ignorance, and argument from personal incredulity.

1 - It exists, that you want to make it more than it is, is immaterial.

2 - It exists, matter/energy cannot be created or destroyed, except when it is convenient for fundies, so it has always existed. The universe cycles, big bang, universe, big collapse, big bang, ad infinitum.

3 - They exist with the universe. That you want some one to have created them is immaterial and absurd. They exist with the atomic forces.

4 - It may be to you, but try reading something about quantum physics rather than just fundie captions.

5 - Matter/energy cannot be created or destroyed.

6 - The most common elements in the universe by volume are; hydrogen, oxygen, carbon, nitrogen. The most common elements for life, byt volume are; hydrogen, oxygen, carbon, nitrogen. Where is the confusion.

7 - It does. That you want "someone" to have caused it or make it function is your fantasy.

8 - Try reading something other than fundie captions.

1 space, the distance between stuff, it is not really a "thing" in that sense.

2 probable the result of whatever it was that we call the big bang.

3 learn about multiverse theory

4. see answer 3

5. probably also related to answer 3

6. thats a good question

7. it came from a critter that was almost an ape but not quite, it had a child with some traits that managed to pass them on.

dont like them? fine, but I ask you, what are your answers? do they stand up to teh scientific method? science is a process and deserves more listening too than someone just relying on something that was written thousands of years ago and known that, if taken literally, poses many problems?

Those are questions you'd expect from a seven year old. It's pretty appalling that someone old enough to post here believes they're good questions.

Anyway, here's the explanation I'd give a seven year old:

1. Space doesn't "come from" somewhere. If it comes from somewhere, it already exists and is just being re-arranged. Scientists think that space was created at the moment of the Big Bang.

2. Matter/energy always existed in some form or another. Religious people think that their god magically poofed matter into existence, but scientists know it doesn't work that way.

3. The laws of the universe didn't need to be created. They're just the way humans understand how things work.

4. Matter is not perfectly organized.

5. See #2.

6. Organic molecules form pretty easily and bond with each other pretty easily to make ever more complex structures. At some point the organic structure fits the biological definition of life. No one needs to magically poof life into "dead matter."

7. Reproduction does not need to be learned. It's a chemical and biological process that happens automatically when a molecule or structure is formed a certain way. Do you think water needed to learn to run downhill, or do you understand that it just happens automatically?

8. The common primate ancestor came from another mammalian species.

Did you understand that, dear? If not, wait until you get to middle school and can study science. If your parents home-school you, you may need to wait until adulthood to give yourself a middle school level education in science. Home-schooled Christians are usually prevented from learning most science.

1. as yet unknown, but there ARE hypotheses.

2. Matter comes from energy.

3. Man made up the written laws. The physical laws had existed from the hypotheses mentioned in #1.

4. Physics.

5. It had existed before, by the hypotheses in #1.

6. I COULD explain that, but it would take too long. Go to the library. I DO know the facts. It IS a fact, because it has been repeated in the lab.

7. It didn't need to LEARN; it comes naturally. Life has ALWAYS replicated.

8. We did NOT come from apes! We BOTH came from a common ancestor. If we had come FROM apes, they wouldn't be around anymore! Just because _I_ don't remember the ancestor's name doesn't mean there wasn't one.

Science & Religion is like OIL & VINEGAR!

Only Religion & Politics mix well!

1 Tim 6:20

O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust*

(*SOLID RELIGION)

avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of SCIENCE falsely so called.

Heb 11:1-3

Now FAITH*

(*gullibility)

is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see… By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible*

(*Christians are not allowed to delve into SCIENCE!)

==

Science still doesn’t have a final answer for everything.

Science looks at the evidence and draws conclusions, while Christians read some of the Bible and look around for supporting evidence.

If they can’t find any evidence, they are happy to prove that “they walk by faith and not by sight!”

Secular science doesn’t appeal to fundamentalist Christians.

1 Cor 3:19-20

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written*

(*all religions are written by people like you and I)

He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain*

(*the Bible stories are set up that way!)

==

Science has determined that the value of pi is 3.14159…

1 Kin 7:23

He made the Sea*

(*a big caldron)

of cast metal, CIRCULAR in shape, measuring TEN cubits FROM RIM TO RIM…*

(*10 units of measure for the diameter)

IT TOOK A LINE OF THIRTY CUBITS TO MEASURE AROUND IT*

(*30 units of measure for the circumference)

==

The intelligent designer God has DEMONSTRATED that the value of pi equals 3.

No scientific Christian would ever dare to correct God!

Pro 20:10

Divers weights, and divers MEASURES both of them are alike an ABOMINATION to the LORD*

(*God only recognizes his own set of weights and measurements)

==

As American Citizens, Christian kids in the Public School system are forced to forfeit any Constitutional right believing the Bible stories, or they won’t pass the grade!

Christians believe in RESURRECTION based on what Jesus was saying about a SEED that MUST DIE to grow into a tree, or a plant.

Jesus never knew that anything that DIES IS DEAD! Period!

Joh 12:24

I* (*Jesus) tell you the truth,*

(*that only Christians would BELIEVE!)

UNLESS a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and DIES, it remains only a single seed. BUT IF IT DIES, it produces many seeds*

(*Christians, especially Preachers, believe this classical Bible LIE because they lack the necessary scientific knowledge to know that a seed that dies produces no more seeds!)

==

God the Son Jesus Christ does not know agriculture!

Jesus cursed the Hell out of one fig tree because he thought that it would bear figs ALL YEAR AROUND!

Mar 11:13

And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he* (*Jesus) came, if HAPLY*

(*HE DIDN’T KNOW!)

he might find ANY THING thereon*

(what else can you find in a fig tree?)

and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet*

(*OUT OF SEASON! in Bible schools they teach future PREACHERS that GOD expects them to bear fruit, i.e. MAKE MONEY, all year around! Every member of the Holy Trinity CURSES people not tithing –Mal3:9-10,Mat25:41,Act5:1-11)

Rev 7:1

And after these things I saw four angels standing on the FOUR CORNERS of the earth, holding the FOUR WINDS of the earth*

(*Fundie Christians know that the Earth has 4 corners with 4 winds still to be discovered)

that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree*

(*this is a bizarre trick worth watching)

==

In Gen1:3-5 God says that on the FIRST DAY, before creating the Sun, he created LIGHT to “separate light from darkness” and that was the evening and morning ONE DAY… and on the 4th day God creates the SUN to “separate light from darkness,” Oops… AGAIN, but this time it works OK, on a flat Bible Earth, of course (Gen1:14-19)!

Some powerful Christian politicians like Pat Robertson hate science. He claims that science is a Communist plot to hurt America!

2 Cor 5:7

for we walk by faith, not by sight*

(*GODDIDIT! Christians can be very easily confused in every field of science, especially medicine)

1. Space creates itself when you split a photon in half and they spin off in different directions. They are still entangled though. After one of the photons has gone as far as you allow it to go, change the spin on one and the other immediately and instantaneoulsy changes its spin. (Bell's Inequality Theorem). The relationship that still exists either invisibly or as a sentient being in its own right but living in a different dimension is what you call space.

2. E=mc^2. Energy becomes matter. Matter becomes energy. Energy can never be destroyed.

3. Energy, that is eternal, is self-aware.

4. Self aware energy is a gestalt of ideas. Some ideas choose to experience their potentials so they invest themselves in matter and add to it. Others prefer other avenues of self-exploration.

5. Energy doesn't come from anywhere. Do you not know what eternal means?

6. Everything that exists is made from star dust. Your question really doesn't make sense. Life doesn't come from dead matter.

7. It is in its nature to do so because sentient energy needs a way to explore its potentials

8. As far as life on earth is concerned, it began with bacteria - whether one or many - who chose to invest themselves into matter in order to experience it or to explore their potentials or both.

1) The initial expansion of the primordial singularity created both time and space.

2) The initial expansion of the primordial singularity was pure energy. That energy had to cool for a long time before matter could condense.

3) The conditions at the first picosecond of the expansion of the primordial singlarity set the physical limits that some call 'laws'.

4) Matter is not perfectly organized. That's why there are isotopes.

5) The energy of the universe all came from the primordial singularity.

6) Abiogenesis is a working hypothersis.

7) Read a book on general biology.

8) The common ancestor had ancestors that were less ape-like.

If science could answer those questions, religions would not exist. That's exactly what is going to happen in the near future; millions of people will stop believing nonsense.

1. Where did the space for the universe come from? Black hole

2. Where did matter come from? A star going super nova

3. Where did the laws of the universe come from (gravity, inertia, etc.) Same as # 2

4. How did matter get so perfectly organized Its not

5. Where did the energy come from to do all the organizing? # 2 again

6. When, where, why, and how did life come from dead matter? Its didn't, it came from star energy

7. When, where, why, and how did life learn to reproduce itself? Instinct

8. If we came from a common ancestor of the ape, where did it come from? No one says that

These are very good questions to start studies and observations to discover the truths behind the nature of our universe! Bible cetainly doesn't accurately answer of them, which makes it just about useless in the search for truth.
2012-04-22 14:08:59 UTC
Err...how dumb do you have to be to think that not knowing something equals a magical guy living in the sky had to have done it?

Seriously....that's what you are saying. I'm pretty sure my cat would pick up the hole in that logic.
2012-04-22 14:08:27 UTC
Why is two nothings better than one nothing?

For example to answer one of your questions, I could say it came from nothing.

But then you say God created it, but where did God come from, nothing?

So you have two nothings and I have one nothing.

sry im not a scientist, please read book about biology and physics.

so you have 2 choice to answers these questions, either you believe in the scientific methods and its ability to test phenomenons and creating real knowledge even under certain limits, or you have religious methods where you dont test jacksquat and you say everything you want
