Questions i have on Islam, The Quran and Dr. Zakir Naik!?
2010-05-23 19:46:00 UTC
1) Why does it say in the Quran that 2 women equal to 1 man when witnessing an event? Are womeen so stupid?

2) Why does Allah alow men to beat their wives on disciplinary issues?? Are men right all the time?

3) Why does Allah allow polygamy? According to Dr. Zakir Naik, it is because women have abilitiy to fight diseases better then men and so live longer then men and hence are more in number than men. I agree BUT as a doctor, should he not know that yes women live longer then men hence, the excess of women in the world are of aged ones. Should he not know that men are fertile till a longer age then women so the ratio of marriagable women to marriageable men is extremely low!!

4) Why does Allah disapprove of pork giving no reasons for it? Dr. Zakir Naik say that it is because of health issues but does he as a doctor not know that Beef is as if not more harmful to the human body and can cause heart attack. Does he not know that meat though rich in protein and fibre also cause a mans testoterone to rise up causing irritation, agrresiveness, sexually high and so on. Does he not know that Wheat and barley, oats, soya can make up for the protein and fibre we need just as well?

5) Why does Islamic heaven have 72 virgins and a fountain of liquor? What do the women get? Why disapprove of liquor here and not in heaven? What nobility is there in the Islamic heaven? Are we alive just so we can fight and enjoy only?

6) Why does Allah keep interfering in Muhammads' life allowing him to marry his adopted sons' ex wife, allowing him to marry 11 wives.

7) Why did Allah want Muhammad to keep 1 fifth of whatever was claimed after a war and allow him and his men to rape those who they had captures? Poor Rayanah!! What nobility does Muhammad show there?

8) Why does Allah call those whoever does not believe in Allah and follow Islam as a kaafir and that a Kaafir should be shown no mercy to and should be killed? Murdering 1 innocent man is as good as murdering whole humanity!! such verses does not disprove what he said of Kaafirs.

9) According to Allah, each and every event that happens in the world is the doing of Allah and Allah alone so isn't he to be blamed for all the Bullshit in this world.

9) Why does Dr. Zakir Naik without knowing the WHOLE facts speak on other religion. Dr. Zakir Naik debates Dr. William Campbell on Chistianity, Shri Shri Ravi Shanker on Hinduism, who the hell are they?? Why doesn't he debate the true scholars of both these religions, Arya Samaj Samiti has been inviting him for a debate since 2004, why does he hide?

10) What truth of Quran is it that Islam glorifies, those truth that was disccovered and studied upon 3000 years before Muhammad ever existed by the Greeks and the Indians!! heck the
Greeks even calculated the distancee of the sun from the earth. The Mayans' knowledge on astronomy, 16000 years before muhammad was better than what's written in the Quran!

11) What is wrong with the Muslims, are they so naive that they CAN NOT see what their religion asks of them? What Allah thinks of their mother, sisters, wive(s) and daughters? What Allah wants their Father, brother and their sons to do?

Dr Zakir Naik is but a human being who is trying his best and so far he's been doing a good job.

But no one is perfect, no one knows everything and can answer everything in a complete way.

We are all here to try to communicate int he best manner we can.

Only God guides whom He wills.

You have too many points to answer at one time.

Each of the above have an answer and in a good way from another perspective that may answer your side of the query which probably Dr. Zakir Naik did not address while he did for millions of people.

But there are always people with far more doubts and questioning than others. Hence they need more attentive answers. If you are sincere God will finally guide you to the truth and will enable you to find the answers you seek.

You fail to see the big picture.

I will try to give few examples for your questions.

3. About the Pig.

Islam is not only against the pig.

Islam wants you to have a healthy body by seeking the better food.

The guidelines are of the following after all we are what we eat.

1. Avoid animals that eat animals (No lions, dogs, eagles, etc)

2. Avoid animals that eat trash (No lizards, rats, mice, snakes, etc)

3. avoid animals that have harsh and weird characters (No donkeys, mules, wild ***, etc)

4. avoid anything that will intoxicate (No alcohol, drugs, etc)

Now if you compare the first 3 the Pig has them all, eats animals, garbage, and he filthy in character and hygiene. He was created to be the garbage collector, if you would like to go for a garbage collector for your food go ahead.

You can say I would make sure he would not eat garbage and cook it well so what is the big deal.

You and your likes are not getting the point.

This beast has been made to be a garbage collector so his nature and body built is made for such a job, no matter how clean you make it and cook it the basic essence of the animal is not for human consumption. Just like dogs and lions, etc.

8. Kafir. first this word is the simplest word ever as it only means people who cover the truth other word or non-believers. they are not that bad, as they are describing a state. However God does not say kill them just like that. You need to read all the verses. First they have be fighters and in War theaty there is no treaty of any kind. Lots of verses if you care to read will instruct Muslims to fulfil treaties even if the conditions are not to their advantage. And only fight those who fight you and do not transgress, and if you forgive is better. But in the battle field when fighting is in progress you must be harsh and tough.

Would tell your soldiers take easy do not fire so quickly and be nice so he does not think you are a savage. where are your senses. If you do not shoot you are dead. So try to see things in the proper context.

I hope this give some light to your queries if you are sincere in your search.

you can email me if yo have further points you would like to be answered.

Claims about the state of things go far back before Islam. Buddhist thought based on the teachings of the Buddha actually even take things further into discussing other planets etc. Also, take a pause, and recall to mind that all the information stored in Alexandria, before it was destroyed was more than we know now in THIS day and age. _()_

You are quite reasonable in your inquiry but to make a judgment at the end(as per item 11) even before getting any answer display symptoms of sickness within yourself,it even shows doubt whether the your quest for knowledge is genuine.

The Quran never called or even stated that woman witness is half of man.It is only in matter of heritage that women portion is half than man and in business transaction witness.

This was explained by Zakirnaik,in fact, all of your questions had been answered by him.

The Quran,it contained truth and the holy. But if you give to someone not fit, then it is useless for him.

As Jesus once said.Give not the holy to the dogs, nor pearls to the swine, they will trample under their feet.We say give not the flowers to the monkeys, for they will mutilate it and come back asking for more.

As for Allah, He is not affected by what we,believers or unbelievers, do or not do. He is self-sufficient.

Ive got another question to add to your list. If Mohammed is so virtuous why did he marry a 6 year old at the age of 56 even though her father wasn't keen on the relation and then sleep with her (rape)??? her at 9 years old? You may state that it was the norm in those days but if Mohammed was so virtuous and all knowing then surely he would know this was morally wrong or does that mean Islam accepts Paedophilia?

Too many questions. I cannot all of them because of time and limited Yahoo space, but here are answers for the first two:

1. Quran does not say that. Technically in cases of a family will, two witnesses are required: Either two men, one man and two women or four women. The reason for that is women tend to take the side of their husband or father because of love and that's why the rule.

2. Quran doesn't say that. There are also many Hadiths which one needs to take into account:

"Admonish your wives with kindness".

"A Muslim must not hate his wife; and if he be displeased with one bad quality in her, then let him be pleased with another that is good".

"Do you beat your own wife as you would a slave? That must you not do".

"I (Muaviyah b. Haidah) said, "O Apostle of God! What is my duty to my wife?" He said, "That you give her to eat as you eat yourself, and clothe her as you clothe yourself; and do not slap her in the face nor abuse her, nor separate yourself from her in displeasure."

"Give your wife good counsel; and if she has goodness in her, she will soon take it, and leave off idle talking; and do not beat your noble wife like a slave".

Muhammad said, 'Beat not your wives.' Then Omar came to the Rasul (Muhammad) and said, 'Wives have got the upper hand from hearing this.'"

"He is the most perfect Muslim whose disposition is best; and the best of you are they who behave best to their wives".

"A virtuous wife is a man's best treasure."

A few notes:

The verse starts by saying, "Men are protectors and maintainers of women..." The word used in Arabic for protectors and maintainers is 'qawwam' (plural qawwamoon) which implies a person who safeguards and takes care of a woman. The next clause "guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded" is also significant because it creates a condition for the next sentence that follows, implying that a woman should not expose her body to somebody who is not her 'mahram.' And finally it says, "As for women of whom you fear rebellion, admonish them and remain apart from them in beds." These verses are clearly about infidelity, short of adultery itself. And for a woman who is not faithful to her husband, the husband should first take the approach of admonishing her, if that doesn't work he should stop sleeping with her, and if all else fails, he may beat her in order to save the marriage. The summary of the verse is that if a husband is working hard and financially supporting his wife, the least he should expect is that his wife remains faithful to him and not fool around. The next verse also recommends that "[4.35] And if you fear a breach between the two, then appoint judge from his people and a judge from her people; if they both desire agreement, Allah will effect harmony between them, surely Allah is Knowing, Aware." The emphasis is on efforts to save a troubled marriage, and the verse should not be misconstrued to allow a husband to beat his wife whenever he chooses.

This verse has be read in light of the explanation that Prophet Muhammad himself had provided. As Maududi has written, "Whenever the Prophet (peace be upon him) permitted a man to administer corporal punishment to his wife, he did so with reluctance, and continued to express his distaste for it. And even in cases where it is necessary, the Prophet (peace be upon him) directed men not to hit across the face, nor to beat severely nor to use anything that might leave marks on the body. (See Ibn Majah, 'Nikah')." The Arabic word used is 'zarb' which is used in the sense of 'hit.' And as Prophet Muhammad taught, it has to be so light that it shouldn't leave any mark. The idea is to admonish and to get the person to understand that the marriage is in

serious trouble.

The Quran clearly says, "Live with your wives in a good manner. If you dislike them in any manner, it may be that you dislike something in which Allah has placed much good for you" (Quran, 4:19). So, God commands man to be good to his wife even if he dislikes her. What more can be said? Even the biggest feminist wouldn't come up with a statement like that!

EDIT: I am not sure if I understand your question. During Prophet Muhammad's time, polygamy was common. Men could have as many wives as they wanted. What Islam did was to limit that number to four but an exception was made for the Prophet. For the same reason that God did not give the Prophet a male heir, because He did not want to create a dynasty. If the Prophet had divorced his wives, other men would have married them and their descendants would have claimed some privileges, not to mention the scandals and rumors that would have ensued. So, to keep that from happening, the Prophet was allowed to keep his wives. Islam, like Hinduism, allows polygamy but at the same punishes extra-martal affairs rather harshly. On the other hand, in European religions, there is greater tolerance for adultery but polygamy is not allowed. The Islamic system is better because at least it keeps things in the open, and there is no secrecy. A person who takes on other wives does so at great expense, and not without some criticism in our day and age. Pleasure is a very small part of marriage. It rarely lasts very long. Polygamy, in the long run, is not as glamorous or wonderful as you think.
