Question:
Why does the anti-vaccine movement attract so many ultra conservative far right fundamentalist Christians?

I know that the anti-vaccine movement attracts people of all different walks of life, not just fundamentalist Christians.

Though I do wonder why so many fundamentalist Christians end up falling into the anti-vaccine movement.

Does anyone know why?

I'm a Christian vaccines have value but you need to take a long hard look at the truth and the inevitable here!

Because of antibiotics and vaccines new resistent disease strains are being born!

And sooner or later we are going to get another plague like the 1914 Spanish flue only this time instead of 1/3 dead humanity will be wiped out in a few hours!

So many people forget that just 100 years ago a disease broke out that killed millions before we had time to develop a vaccine!

Now again vaccines have value .

But at what cost? The inevitable extinction of man? Sooner or later we will trip over that dormant virus and our immunities will be so vacined that they won't have a chance and then we will have a mostly dead human race

With a few survivors in remote places!

So think before you take antibiotics or vaccinate? Are you tradeing a few days of misery for the extinction of your race!?

It's not a joke it will happen sooner or later!

Imminent end times Christians tend to be insecure about the future and have a superficial faith and prayer life. Conservative Christians, as a general term, latch onto false news from the insecure Christians. Because they are in tight knit study groups, they feed one another the same disinformation until it takes on an air of truth through repetition and widespread (although insular) dissemination.

"Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true... they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so are all the easier to fool." ~The Wizard's First Rule

Some people just can't seem to put aside their emotions and think objectively about a topic. Those people are more likely to fall for lies and tricks of every sort whether it's getting riled up by right wing or left wing political propaganda or religion or conspiracy theories.

Anti-science is not liberal or conservative. So, too, neither traditional nor new age.

Vegetarian health nuts and fundamentalist Christians are both anti-science. This doesn't mean they agree on other things.

Think of it as morphological convergence and not as similar genetics.

It doesn't , in fact most anti vaxxers tend to be above average intelligence which makes sense as they obviously aren't afraid to not follow the unthinking masses who have never really researched this and just blindly accept whatever they are fed.

It is not so much fundies as it is the lunatic fringe. You know, the ones who think their non-existent god thingy will heal the. The ones who follow insane leaders like jim jones. The ones who have severe brain damage. The ones who let their religious leaders stick a pointed stick up their noses to "adjust their brains"

oh it's bcuz we don't need vaccines on account of our faith healing and ability to drink non-vaccine poisons (mark 1:19 or something)
