I meann seriously, have you ever actually sat down and tried to look at all the evidence from an open minded, objective viewpoint? Have you ever considered the possibility that the Church has been lying to you?

I've been a Christian all my life. My dad has been in ministry and his father and my moms father and all his sons and his wife, and yes i really have considered it. Ive sat down and really thought about it all for hours and hours thinking about what i believe in and what it really means to me. Looking at all the evidence of how the world works and how simultaneously people all over the world with no contact between one another, found some sort of starting point with a god. The church isn't the one that needs to be looking at the evidence. They are the ones who try to get you to be interested in the subject and look for yourself at everything. I really have looked at all of the evidence around the world objectively trying to disprove it, and i can't. Some might not approve of what i just said, but that's my opinion on the matter.

Jimmy : Have you ever thought of the word 'foolishness' and what it means to be one ?

You're implying intent on the part of the "church". However, the "church" is not a single unified mind, and can have no more real intent than a "corporation" can. They are collections of individuals, and while certainly there are individuals who lie (Jimmy Swaggart jumps to mind) the vast majority of Christians believe in their faith. Therefore, it is not a lie.

It may be a mistake - which I have considered. But, in my estimation, nature is far too complex to have arrived simply through the chance variations in species. The perfect balance in the atmosphere to support life (the moon and Mars are in the "habitable range" - why no evolutionary development there?) The recent discovery of a potentially life sustaining planet only 20 light years away - oh wait - it may not even exist.

There is certainly something egocentric about believing God created the world for our benefit - but given the complexity involved in creating and sustaining life, it's not unreasonable.

yet determining on one's faith isn't basically like the turn of a coin. the two one is stable and something are incorrect, or none are best. One does not settle for a faith in line with probability; that this one has as stable a gamble as yet another of being best. If one have been doing so, there is info that places some a ways out interior the front of the sector. That mentioned, i do never truly entertain the the thought that God does not exist. Nor do i for my section have faith that yet another faith could be best. My basically "waffling" provides itself on particular doctrines interior Christianity; Calvanism/Armenianism, eschatology and so on.

Yes. I was raised Christian, in a Christian home and Christian schools. I, like all people, went through a time of rebellion. I questioned whether or not all that I had been taught was really true. I studied the Bible, history and science. I looked at all of it from an objective point of view. And in the end, I came back to the church.

There have been many times when I have felt like God has left me, but I have always found that it was in those situations that I left Him.

God exists in me and has nothing to do with the church. The church only exists when I bring God into it as other followers of Jesus bring in. A Christian's body is the temple of God. The church building is just a building until the people of God come in. There is no righteousness in me without the Holy Spirit in me. It is the Holy Spirit in me that teaches me all things concerning Christ Jesus.

It is the Holy Spirit in me that purifies and refines me and removes sin and teaches me the ways of the Lord by His Word.

Sure, and all the evidence points to God. I have studied Physics and Biology in depth and still have concluded that God exists.

Not one credible scientist or mathematician can eliminate God from life's equation, so have you ever considered God does exist? Have you reviewed all the evidence? Are you more intelligent and reasonable that say Einstein or Steven Hawkings?

Peace be with you

Hello,

Yes; the thought has crossed my mind on various occasions and I hear all sorts of arguments from Dawkins to the Pope and Jim Hagee. Ultimately it is next to impossible to prove or disprove His existence so we are all playing that 50 / 50 gamble and will not know the outcome until we cross over.

Cheers,

What is your definition of God ?

-The One who is Eternal

- The one who was never born, the one who will never die

- The one who never gets tired , never sleeps

- The one who is much above human like qualities

- The one who is beyond human imagination

- The one who is the creator of all existence

- The one who is formless, faceless, bodiless

If the your beliefs dont match with the above criteria, I think you may have accepted a false God by mistake , hence your intellect ur mind is not convinced. Hence you are looking for the right logical answer.

I've considered it. But it doesn't make sense to me. I KNOW the Father personally, I know Jesus personally. But I can appreciate the intellectual feeling that atheists have in not believing in the eternal Godhead. But just because I haven't been to China doesn't mean that China does not exist. People that have been to China can give us reports about it. So I believe that China exists even though I have not been there. In the same way, there are those of us that have had personal contact with Father God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. The invisible God exists. He's a mystery. He's alive. You can talk to God. Try it. You may be surprised to find out they will answer you in a mysterious way. Blessings on you, Friend.

Yes.

Objectivity isn't a lot of use here (what sort of objective evidence did you have in mind?) - but yes I have.

I have always believed in God, since the day I was born ;) The times I struggled was when I struggled with evil, devils,Satan. When you are that close to God is when you will feel attacked in many ways. Doubt being one, Thank God for St Thomas and his example to know that Christ will never leave us :) Staying strong in prayer with Him and having the assurance of His Grace and Mercy and the Blessing of His Son Jesus Christ, our guide and protection during those times.

It is less whether God exists, but more like where is He? Why does God allow certain things to happen?

believers in god only get to get proof and evidence. The church cant lie about life and all of its complexities. If God doesn't exist then i guess its alright to go kill rape torture lie cheat and steal.. hell what are all yall atheists doing sitting here asking monkey *ss questions?? go out and live a reckless evil life. In that cause we all would be atheists and rapist, serial killers, cheaters, child molesters and torture people, Atheists don't believe in anything which can be safely said that all of them must do these things and if they don't then why not whats stopping you you all dont seem to have any beliefs, know right from wrong, no morals and values. Lets all have a party and do what ever the hell we want. Its PARTAY TIME!

3 years ago before I was saved I thought that God did not exist.

But now I know that God does exist.

God is more real to me than any physical things in this world.

I don`t need physical proof.

I know that God exist by faith.

You don`t need to see God to know He exist.

it depresses me when god doesn't exist thoughts enter my mind
2010-10-19 06:02:03 UTC
Almost every Christian I've debated was absolutely certain their god existed. If they are unwilling to accept that they might be wrong, I cannot help them see the majesty that is reality. It's quite saddening really.

@Like it is

"He" is just you projecting yourself onto the universe. Does your god think you are a good person and coincides with "his" will? "He" and you are one in the same because "he" is in your head.
2010-10-19 06:01:25 UTC
Probably about as often and as deeply as a staunch atheists thinks God might exist.

before I became a Christian I did, but it did not take long to convince me He did.

Yes I have and that is why I left the darkness of faithlessness. When I spent time studying it became obvious to me that God is alive and I made the choice to accept the obvious.
