Other than the fact I have received a witness and testimony from the Holy Ghost that the book is true and Joseph is a true prophet... Moroni brought the information to Joseph that he needed - and remember it took YEARS for Moroni to give the location of the plates to Joseph. The Book of Mormon testifies of Christ. I have a hard time believing a "bad" angel would bring about something that contained good things. How can we tell the difference? I would say, the "fruits". Is the Book of Mormon pro-Christ or not? I say it is and so do 13 million others who have read it. A fallen angel or demon would 1) NOT want Christ's gospel to be spread and 2) have no reason to spread the good word of the gospel. Why is this "highly unusual behavior"? You know everything about angels or presume to know the exact mind of God? Come on. No one living new about the plates. How could God get the plates to Joseph, other than the way He did? Well, I am sure He could have thought of some different ways... but isn't God perfect? So, He makes perfect decisions. It was His decision to bring about the Book of Mormon the way He did.

How do I know? Because I have asked and God has answered.

What Moroni brought to pass by leading Joseph to the plates has been nothing but good. Would Satan disguise himself as an angel, to provide a book which leads men to Christ?? I think not. He cannot. It is impossible for a good tree to bring forth bad fruit and a bad tree to bring forth good fruit.

And by their "fruits" ye shall know them. The fruit of the gospel and of the LDS church is: Love, charity, Christ-like attributes, honesty, integrity, high morality, love for God and His Son. You think Satan would want those things to come about? Um no.

Jesus NEVER claimed he was God. Ever. He claimed to be Christ and the SON of God. Which He is. He taught to worship the Father and to give all glory to God.

The angel Mornoi never told joseph other religions were corrupt. Christ and God did. They told Joseph all other religions' CREEDS were an abomination. That they had parts that were correct, but parts that were not. That is why there was a need for the restoration of the gospel.

It doesn't matter how much "evidence" is out there, for OR against, what happened. A person can NEVER fully know the gospel is true until they ask God. He has promised He WILL answer.

One more thing...as someone else pointed out - other beings appeared to Joseph and others. Oliver Cowdery was present when Peter, James and John came to confer to Joseph and Oliver the Melchezidek Priesthood. Also John the Baptist.

The link is the vision given to Joseph and Oliver Cowdery at the Kirtland Temple when Christ appears and accepts the temple as His house. Also Moses and Elias appear, as well as Elijah as promised by Malachi.

7 of 9 - So there is no possible way an angel from God would appear as an angel of light, hu? It had to have been satan?? WHY would satan appear and speak of Christ? HE WOULDN'T.

Christ taught that we can know a true prophet by his fruits (Matthew 7:16). The same can also be said of any supernatural beings, God included.

We don't disbelieve that the angel Gabriel appeared to Muhammad. God sends angels to men in every age, and throughout the world. Each receives that portion of God's light that they are prepared to accept. I do not believe that the angel Gabriel told Muhammad that he needed to start a new religion. Muhammad preached the same religion as Moses - that there was one true God, and that we should worship him. It is the same belief that we teach today. The "other" religions that Gabriel was refering to, was the worship of idols and false Gods.

The Quran, as I understand it, was passed down orally for generations before being committed to writing, so there is no reason to believe it is inerrant. I don't believe it professes to be. If you were to read the Quran, I believe you would find yourself agreeing to it by and large. It isn't clearly put forth which words came from the angel Gabriel, and which words came from Muhammad; there is the possibility that Muhammad taught some things that he believed to be true, but were not revealed by the angel Gabriel. Also, it would be a mistake to assume that all muslim beliefs stem from the Quran - they have their traditions too.

How many people saw the angel Moroni?

At least five different people saw the angel Moroni and the Book of Mormon; four men and one woman. Three, in addition to Joseph Smith, were called to be special witnesses, and their testimonies can be found in the preface to the Book of Mormon. They were persecuted for their testimony, but each went to their grave professing the truth of what they had seen.

We have many testimonies that it's from God, in fact pretty much anyone from the LDS church can testify that it is from God.

Also, why would Satan write a book that testifies of Christ?

PS- Joseph Smith wasn't the only one who saw angels.

Edit: I couldn't tell you, perhaps someone else saw Moroni. I do not know. I do know that Oliver Cowdery was there when the priesthood was restored by Peter James and John came as well as Elijah. He also saw John the baptist.

There might have been some more men, but I don't remember a lot of my church history.

There was also many men who saw the gold plates.

Edit: Did you know that the Bible says that Elijah is supposed to come in the last days?

I answered another one of your questions on this, but I'll go ahead and post here as well how I know Moroni to be an angel of God.

1 John 4:1 "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world."

Ye shall know them by their fruits, right? The fruits that Moroni brought are of God. They being peace and happiness to my life and to my family when we live such divine principles and teachings. Such goodness does not come from Satan, nor will it ever.

If you bothered to read the old testament and the beginning of the new testament, all prophets recieve revelation through angels except Moses who recieved it directly from God.

If it was a demon, then the LDS church would never have grown the way it has.

from the lds.org site:

Three years after Joseph Smith's First Vision, God sent the angel Moroni to instruct Joseph about restoring the gospel of Jesus Christ.

While I was thus in the act of calling upon God, I discovered a light appearing in my room, which continued to increase until the room was lighter than at noonday, when immediately a personage appeared at my bedside, standing in the air, for his feet did not touch the floor.

He had on a loose robe of most exquisite whiteness. It was a whiteness beyond anything earthly I had ever seen; nor do I believe that any earthly thing could be made to appear so exceedingly white and brilliant. His hands were naked, and his arms also, a little above the wrist; so, also, were his feet naked, as were his legs, a little above the ankles. His head and neck were also bare. I could discover that he had no other clothing on but this robe, as it was open, so that I could see into his bosom (NO WINGS)

From the bible:

2 Cornithians 11:14

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an ANGEL OF LIGHT.

colossians 2:18

Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of ANGELS, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
