we don't think it, we know it. middle east libraries and books? censorship down to a magazine, where is the credibility in that for them?
I have served in the middle east twice. you know, magazines have black permanent markers censoring clothing, make up on women, lines drawn through every line in a book or mag, and on the airplane to your destination within swa to swa, everything has been blackened out. get a clue.

You are correct. There are many non-Biblical ancient writings that support the Bible as being historically accurate.
You did ask: "Why do christians think the bible is historical fact, when the history of the middle east books seem to?"
Which seems to indicate: "when the history of the middle east books seem to [also think the Bible is historical fact]."
And that is correct.
OK then, you got the right answer by accident for something you really know nothing about.

Which middle east books are you referring to? And why would it matter if other books mentioned the Bible? The Bible mentions Egypt but nothing at all about pyramids. So?
There is an old adage that has so far held true: with each turn of the archaeologist's spade the Bible is proven truer and truer.
What verifiable evidence do you have that some part of the Bible is definitely not true?

Perhaps you have never heard of the Historical-Critical Method of Bible study.
Fundamentalists don't like it, but studying the Bible the same way as one would study any other book has produced very edifying results.

The Bible is confirmed over and over again by history and archeology and science.
No other religious book can make that claim.

This is why the term "Biblical archaeology" was dropped. They were finding that so many actual things were not matching the Bible, even when they tried hard to distort the findings to fit.
