What is the best way to write discourse against Christians?

Hello.Blessings and peace.

I am hoping to write discourse considering my local Christian Church and its Christians self-righteous, smug, etho-centrical, exclusive, selfish, ingorant, bewildering, unChristain(They treat Muslims with more regard then anyone else- that is what many more conservative Christains disagree with) attitude towards
non-christians outside of their small community, people of other faith systems, people of intellectual disposition, humanists and atheists. I am affended by their attitude towards what they call new age, how they speak of it only goes to show their self-righteous attitude. I know that not all Christians are like this. I am a man of inter-faith faith, I observe different ceremonies, study from different texts and I find it easy to make everything fit into place. In fact I am like glue, what I say is sound and rational. What good is faith without reason?
Do you have any tips as to the discourses structure and how can I back up my points

May the grace of God break through into your life. As a Gnostic, you should know that many Chriistian denominations other than the one you mention also resist gnosticism. Right from the 1st century A.D., gnosticism tried to influence Christianity, and it was stoutly resisted. There are many reasons for this. I understand why you are angry and frustrated.

I would like to encourage you to consider what Christ himself said about being his follower, yet I fear your Gnostic faith will have made that well nigh impossible - without the grace of God breaking through. You seem to be in an entrenched position, having made your mind up already, and although you may have some good reasons for that, your discourse is only likely to satisfy yourself. Writing is always a good way of marshalling one's thoughts, however, so by all means start by listing your objections, then the reasons, but also include why your detractors take the view they take. Only when you fully understand where THEY are coming from will you be able to write anything that they would be prepared to read and consider. In that way, you might be able to help them. And, even better, if you then invited them to respond in writing to your discourse, a mutually beneficial exchange might take place. I hope you will work through your anger in the right way so that you arrive at a peaceful acceptance of what can, and what cannot be dealt with by reason alone.

Look - all the points you couls bring out that can be supported can be refuted. You may have valid points and concerns.

Christianity, unfornately for everyone's side of the argument, is still based on an act that can't be proven.

If you plan to go ahead with your discourse. I wish you well.

It will only serve notice that your issues may or may not be completely true.

There are too many factions in our world that have done thinsg that you could also write a discourse about.

I think you will only repeated already known things.

Now if you can prove/disprove Jesus' resurrection........Now you would have something profound.

If people from your local church are being intolerant, then it is worth speaking out. Many people do no realize their own behavior until someone points it out.

But there's no point in doing so unless you can cite specific examples. Calling them "self-righteous, smug, etc." does nothing. You should be able to provide examples so clear that you will not have to use the labels at all.

Don't just be angry. If you are making a plea for tolerance, then start with a tone that indicates tolerance of other people's errors.

Some will hear you. That is all you can hope for.

I know this isn't what you are looking for, but I coudn't resist the chance to post it:

Atheist, here is what you need to know to set these dumb Christians straight?

1) Inform them of how brainwashed they are. We atheist believe in free thinking so if anyone doesnt think like we do then they are brainwashed. Everyone is allowed to think freely but if they dont choose to be an atheist it must mean they are brainwashed. Makes sense right?

2) Tell them that Christianity is at the heart of all evil. This is so true. Well, except for all of the wars like World War I, II, Vietnam War, Korean War...so umm better not bring up the topic of wars. Oh yeah, tell them that most of the people in our prisons are Christians. Of course, 99.9% of people in prision are there for evil actions have nothing to do with Christianity - but dont worry Christians are usually too dumb to point out these obvious things.

3) Slam them on their Bible. I mean it was written like thousands of years ago with a bunch of translations and by like 50 different authors. I mean it is just a dumb book right? So what if it comments on every element of human nature which is true today just like it was yesterday. And so what if there is a remarkable harmony with all the writers of the bible despite the fact that they wrote over many different centuries. Who cares it has practical relevant advice on every area of life from business to marriage to healthy living. And its irrelevent that the Bible contains many prophecies which have come true and are unfolding at this very moment. I mean other books have done the same thing...haven't they?

4) Tell the Christians that the world would be better without them. I know that every nation with a Christian foundation has prospered and gives great freedoms to its people compared to other nations. So what. And look at all the great atheist countries...well omm scratch that

i honestly think the most effective thing to do is to continue to love them and show them you honest HUMILITY by loving them no matter what. I think that if you are honestly a man of inter-faith that will come naturally. If not, you are just becoming one of them and adding to the cause. Hope this helps.

I don't know what you are writing your discourse for, but I hope you don't expect it to change any minds. Those who agree with you will continue to agree with you, while those you seek to criticize will continue to behave in the same way they did before.

Evolution as we understand it today teaches that everything grew better over time. The 2nd Law teaches that everything degrades over time. We have many examples of the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics. We do not have any evidence for evolution.

Jesus problably would have preferred people to be nice to each other and do good things than label themselves as christians and do nothing.

Respectfully, it is not our job to separate the wheat from the tares. This will be done by Christ at His second coming. Our job is to love God with all our heart and love our neighbor as ourselves.

By praying for others rather than judging them.

You can never right discourse with more discourse. Please re-read your first paragraph, and pray about it.

Good Luck and God Bless!
