There is no reference to it in the Bible, but the "third eye" is also called the "eye of wisdom" or the "inner eye". This eye is used to critically look at yourself and examine your wrong doings. The church of Philadelphia are the only one of the 7 which Jesus gave no negative comments about. They were wise and and followed God's teachings. Maybe there are people who link this fact with the "eye of wisdom". The Holy Spirit was there inner eye. Therefore they saw wisdom in following God.

The most famous and obvious reference to the third eye in the bible is from Matthew 6:22 - I believe I got the verse number right, but I'm not sure. The verse reads something like: The light of the body is the eye. Wherefore, if thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. This is a pretty close paraphrasing of the King James version; in newer translations, it doesn't come across as clearly.

It isn't mentioned. You can do your own search of the bible using Bible Gateway online:

The only verse that mentions third and eye in the same verse is Revelation 4:7 and it is not what you are referring to:
Revelation 4:7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle.

According to the below listed Wikipedia article, the "3rd eye" is a gnostic, mystical teaching that has nothing directly to do with the Bible.

There is no 3rd eye mentioned anywhere in the biblical book of Revelation.

There is no reference of third eye in the bible. But I believe what they mean of the third eye is our spiritual insight. Our ability to understand spiritual things.
People usually say, Can you see now? when they meant, Can you understand now?
We have already two physical eyes, and they call the spiritual insight or the ability to see (understand) spiritual things the 3rd eye.
You can develop a 3rd eye if you believe in Jesus and trust Him without doubt in your heart, and by reading your bible diligently.

Matthew 6:22-24King James Version (KJV)
22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
