Beachy Amish are the most liberal and modern as far as using automobiles, electricity and the like goes. they are the oldest order and they meet in churches.

The Conservative mennonite Amish meet in churches and are located in the midwest, they are really more of what the old order is.

Evangelical Mennonite Amish are separatist and believe in and follow non conformity to the world.

The old order Amish are the ones you see in the horse and buggy, they do not meet in churches but in each others homes. they do not allow marriage to outsiders,

The impact of the economy has effected even the Amish, there are some who work outside their communities to be able to keep their land and afford to live on it and they are still allowed to be amish and live in their communities. some are having to own businesses within their communities to sustain their community and have had to rely on some more modern appliances and gadgets for the purpose of efficiency.

their beliefs however basically remains the same.

You can do your web search and type in old amish and new amish orders, what are the changes? and get a wealth of information.

I have a lot of respect for the Amish.

The New Order are a small order that was formed in Lancaster County, PA in the 1960s. The original New Order Amish were Old Order that split away for several different reasons. The New and Old Order dress pretty much the same, and both use horse and carriages as their primary mode of transportation, but the New Order allow electricity and telephones in their homes. They also use more modern farming equipment than the Old do. The New Order do not practice shunning, and they discourage the use of alcohol and tobacco, which the Old Order allow.

Other Amish orders besides Old and New include the Beachy (the least conservative), Andy Weaver, and Swartzentruber (the most conservative).

Old Order Amish wear the full Amish outfits and drive buggies and live their lives as you see in Pennsylvania where I came from.

The women have not only a small white cap over their hair but will wear the complete black hood, the colors of black and red, blue, or purple with it. They have gold-rimmed eyeglasses (no plastic) and sensible black shoes, long skirts, no make-up.

The men have the black broad-brimmed hats in winter and the straw hats in summer, and are also dressed in plain colors. Even the babies are dressed in miniature copies of their parents' attire.

They drive horse-drawn buggies, they will not have electricity (although the State required them to install battery-powered lights in their barns for safety's sake) and they light their houses with oil lamps at night.

The insides of their houses are beautifully done in woodwork and look great, but they are perfectly plain, without any embellishments. They have their front doors painted light blue and the curtains swept back sideways on the windows.

They will not own power equipment for working on the farm, although I have heard of Amish men who are allowed to accept work on neighboring farms driving tractors.

The New Order Amish don't adhere to all this. They don't wear the full black outfits although the women still retain the white caps.

They are allowed to operate and own machinery.

How much modern technology they are prepared to tolerate.

The Old Order are trapped in a permanent, pre-Industrial Revolution state. The various New Orders exist at various points along the timeline -- there probably is even a faction which think valves are OK, but not semiconductors.

Amish vs Amish is still division, not peace;

(kingdom vs kingdom falls to desolation)

kinda like Lamb (arnion) vs Lamb (amnos),

Son of man (vengeful) vs Son of God (merciful),

and Division, not peace vs Peace, not divided.

He TAKETH AWAY the first (old, law, faulty)

that he may E-STABLISH the second (new, grace, perfect).

After comparing Old Amish vs New Amish, flush one as dung.

He TAKETH AWAY the beginning (of sorrows), ... first (begin)

that he may E-STABLISH the end (of sorrows). ... second (end)

The end (grace) is not yet, if still hearing of the beginning (law).

Salvation (grace) is not yet, if still hearing of destruction (law).

The End: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
