Luke 6:37
New International Version (©1984)
Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
Let us be careful not to compare one mans sin to that of another:
Romans 3:23
New International Version (©1984)
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
There are sins that lead to death, this is true, but there is a spiritual death that is being spoken of as well as a physical death. If you try to interpret death as always being physical, you will find an endless progression of sins that you should not commit, because everything you do with your body brings it just a little bit closer to physical death, where as if you accept the gospel of God's grace through the forgiveness of sins, you will find room for error on your way towards perfection. If we confess our sins, God is faithful to forgive them by the power of the blood of Jesus Christ, who took the penalty of the sins of all who believe in Him.
I am not saying that gluttony is good, either, I am saying that there are some who struggle with it who are making progress toward righteousness, and who are we to judge another when there are sins that we have committed ourselves? It is good to mention gluttony only if you are filled with love for the person you are trying to help with a correction, but to sit in judgment over sin is a sin itself, and therefore a person who does this can find himself out to be a hypocrite.
1 Corinthians 4:5
New International Version (©1984)
Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God.
