Who created God? (catholics and Christians only)?

So i'm in the 7th grade. I go to catholic school coz im a Catholic. If everything has a creator, who created God?

If there is a such thing as ghosts, where do they come from?
I thought dead people would only go to hell or heaven?

Where is the proof that Jesus existed?
If you say bible, then how do we know that the stories in the bible actually exist?

And lastly:
How does God choose you to be in heaven or hell?
So if we just do one sin, do we go to hell?

Thanks, i just need reasons so i don't become someone with no religion.

>>>If everything has a creator, who created God?>>>

God has always existed. Your question deals with timelines, but God exists outside of timelines.

>>>If there is a such thing as ghosts, where do they come from?>>>

There is no such things as ghosts.

>>>I thought dead people would only go to hell or heaven?>>>

That's right. Before going to heaven, many of us (if not most of us) will need to be purified in purgatory -- since, as the Book of Revelation says, nothing unclean can enter heaven.

>>>Where is the proof that Jesus existed?

If you say bible, then how do we know that the stories in the bible actually exist?>>>

There are plenty of non-Scriptural writings that deal with Jesus' existence. The writings of the early Christian thinkers, such as Justin Martyr and Origen, speak of this.

>>>How does God choose you to be in heaven or hell?>>

He doesn't decide this. WE do.

We either choose God, or we don't.

We either choose to believe in Him, and to live our lives according to that belief -- or we choose not to.

It's the same as choosing to break the law, or obey the law. If we choose to break it, then we ourselves are responsible for being in prison. Not the judge, and not the jury.

>>>So if we just do one sin, do we go to hell?>>>

Absolutely not. That's why, for the most serious sins (the Church calls them "mortal sins"), we have the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) as a spiritual remedy.

If we die in a state of grace -- that is, with no unconfessed mortal sins on our soul -- then we will not go to hell.

Going to heaven or hell depends on our spiritual state at death. If we die rejecting God and/or with known and unconfessed mortal sins on our soul, then we are on our own, so to speak.

On the other hand, if we die with faith in God and with no unconfessed mortal sins, we are bound for heaven -- even if our self-love has not been entirely removed.

For that, there's purgatory -- which is where any remaining self-love is transformed into perfect love for God.

That's why we pray for the souls of the dead -- there's no need to pray for souls in heaven, and there's no benefit of praying for souls in hell. Prayers for the dead is for those in purgatory -- which is an entirely Biblical doctrine. See 2 Maccabees, as well as Jesus speaking of "staying in prison until you pay the last penny."

Well Ichigo, I think Cyberme answered the questions on how do we know Jesus existed and the Bible stories reliable.

However, I am going to answer the other ones. Now listen up! Because you're not being taught this in Catholic school. Those catholics teach a lot of rubbish. Are there ghosts you ask? Like what? People that come back from the dead? If that, NO. When people die they are DEAD. They are not in heaven or hell. They cannot think. They have no emotions. They are just this: NONEXISTANT. Ecclesiastes 9:5; Psalms 146:3,4; Job 10:10-14. Death is often described as a "sleep" because we will be waking up from that "sleep" in the resurrection!

So...the modern concept that ghosts are the "souls" of dead loved ones and others is FALSE. You know what they are? Demons deceiving you to think so!

Heaven and Hell is not going on right now. The righteous only go to heaven when Jesus comes and the wicked go to hell a THOUSAND years AFTER Jesus comes. Read Revelation 20. BTW, hell does NOT burn forever.

God decides whether you deserve heaven or eternal separation from him (hell) if you really put him first in your life and tried to please and serve him. --If you really had a relationship with him.

""So if we just do one sin, do we go to hell?""

If you know better and keep doing it, then YES, that sin, whatever it may be, can get you to hell. Also, if you do not repent of your sins then Yes too.

There are your reasons and don't become Atheist man just don't. That is just plain delusion. Also, my advice to you is to get out of the Catholicism ASAP! That is a false religion of works and tries to bind you to all sorts of things. They teach false doctrines and just everything about that is just wrong. So I hope you find out the truth man.

Your most important ? was How does G-d choose you to be in Heaven or Hell? Read Ecclesiastes and discover it's all "a chasing of the wind" Yes if you do one sin you go to hell, unless you know the secret password/get out of jail card. It's not really a secret, it's Jesus! Yeah for Love!! Kinda answers the rest no?

Didn't the nuns/priests teach you not to question? Well too late now you filthy little heathen. You let pandora out. Oops, forgot, don't mention pagan things. I love my G, He is an awesome G. He has this sentence, shortest sentence possible actually, it is. I am. So there. No? Why does everything have a creator? Aah maybe it isn't the other peoples logic, but your own.

Casper is a friendly sorta ghost. Next

You need to grasp the man known as Jesus for what he truly is. His story (The Bible) embodies the highest goal we piddly homo spines seek. Love baby yeah! No subject more written about, sung about, thought about or pursued after then Love. We need it. But you're only in 7th grade so I won't go further. Oh and you could answer your own ?'s if instead of relying on here say and conjecture you actually went and seeked after Him. You asked "Where is proof... existed?" The wrong tense is used. The Bible has also been confirmed through numerous archaeological expeditions.

Sorry for being such an ***, what can I say? I'm a sinner.

Who created God. That is one of those mind benders. The simple answer that everyone says is that God has no beginning and no end. It's up there with, where does the universe end?

Are there ghosts? Who knows. Who says you go straight to heaven/hell immediately after you die? There might be a while between you dying and moving on.

Where is the proof Jesus existed. The New Testament is a collection of books written by people around the time of Jesus. Lots of people wrote these books so it isn't just the views of one man. Some were written by people after Jesus and some who were alive at the time. St Paul for example was alive at the time of Jesus and was extremely Anti-Christian to start with. These people have documented the live of Jesus. The names and places mentioned in the New Testament seem to be accurate so it's not a big leap to assume that Jesus existed too.

How does God choose if you go to heaven. Someone asked Jesus how to get eternal live. His reply was, "Do not kill, commit adultery, or steal. Do not bear false witness. Honour your parents and love your neighbour as yourself". If you follow these commandments you will get into heaven. At sometime in your life you may break one or more of these commandments but Jesus taught that if you were sorry in your heart you would be forgiven.

Don't be afraid to discus this with your RE teacher. My experience is that they like a good, honest discussion. Even in the Old days when I was at school with Noah. These are all valid, and good, questions you have asked. Most Christians ask them at one time or another.

GOOD QUESTIONS FOR A CHANGE!

The Most High Lord God of ALL Creation created himself out of himself. How He did that is a mystery to everyone this side of the veil. It is explained in Chapter One of The Anointed, The Elect, and The Damned!

There are many reasons for ghosts and the why they exist and to much information for a place like this to answer completely. There's a couple of good answers at http://the-aed.com/YaBBSE/index.php?board=2.0

Look at The Ghost Question and The Nostradamus one

We are programmed that people go to hell or heaven. Truth is that many can go to repose - which is neither hell or heaven. They can be bound to earth and are like ghosts.

There is no 'jesus'. The letter 'j' didn't exist until 1349. Immanuel did exist and was the anointed of his generation. Search the internet for information on the letter 'j'.

The way you live your life depends on which direction you go. Read Holy Law - it is in Genesis, Exodus, Deuteronomy, Leviticus, and Numbers.

Regarding 'sin'. There are many things people would have you think are sins, but they are not necessarily sins to The Most High. For example, if you are taught that not going to church on Sunday is a sin, that isn't a sin to The Most High because Sunday isn't the TRUE Sabbath. The Sabbath is Friday Sundown to Saturday Sundown.

Most your teachers will have a problem with these answers. Since it is their job to teach you, perhaps your questions will teach them. The Most High does not require 'belief' and 'faith'. He requires Knowledge and Obedience.

Nothing created God

People dont go to heaven/hell until after the 2nd coming. Some people raise demons (ghosts)

Jesus did exists the only argument you can make is whether he was divine or not. He fulfilled the prophecies of the messiah which proves he was the messiah.

To go to heaven you have to be without sin. Jesus died for this reason.

God is the creator of everything....he was here before there was a here....don't over think the unnecessary, it will make you crazy

Ghosts...I would say that for some reason a persons spirit is not ready to pass on to the after life...whatever that may be...but when they are ready they will go where they belong

Jesus-What proof could you possibly mean? No photos...no journals...just the bible...that is all we have

Hell- You will not go to hell for sinning once...repentance I guess is the key...some people dont find God until after they have hit rock bottom

Regarding God being created. Who said everything needed a creator? That is an assumption but you need to go to God's word to see if that is correct. God said

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. ~ Revelation 22:13

God always was, it doesn't make any sense to say he was created. He is God :) He is the Creator :)

Where is the proof that Jesus existed? - No historian will deny that Jesus walked the earth. Even non-Christian religions such as Hindu, Islam etc also know this.

BTW if your religion teacher answers like that then your religion teacher needs to study the Bible then :) The answers are there.

Jesus said...

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,

for they will be filled. ~ Matthew 5:6

Also my recommendation always go by the Bible, by God's word and not just want people say. Even priests can be wrong.

Things that are eternal do not require a creation and God is eternal. About 100 years ago, many scientists hoped that the universe was eternal so that they would not have to explain how the universe came into being. But it turns out that the universe does have a beginning and science cannot explain it.

I don't think ghosts are real.

An historian named Josephus who lived right after Jesus did talks about Jesus. Of course, many people at that time were preaching about Jesus. Very few historians today doubt the existence of Jesus.

We Christians are not required to think that all of the stories in the Bible are literally true. We know that some are allegorical. But the stories all teach real lessons that tell us about who God is.

Christianity is not about going to hell, it is about a relationship with our Creator. God is our Father and we want to know Him and love Him and experience and find our joy in Him. If that isn't enough reason to seek Him, then the threat of hell will not change our minds.

The only sin that brings death is the sin of rejecting God. God is the source of all life and to reject Him is to choose death. Jesus said it was like we are branches of a tree and to reject God is like cutting ourselves off from the tree. If we do that, we'll wither and die. Not because wants that but because we do.

God simply always has been and always will be. If someone/something created Him, then He would not be God.

As for ghosts, the Bible says that if we are absent from the body, we are present with the Lord (2 Cor. 5:8). I do believe that there are demons and angels, but no ghosts.

The Bible is true http://www.allabouttruth.org/bible-is-true-faq.htm. Make sure that you click on the link at the bottom of the page to go to the next page.

And once we commit one sin, we are not worthy of the kingdom of Heaven. "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." -Romans 6:23

That's why Jesus had to die on the cross. His sacrifice, the only person who had NEVER sinned, absolved us of our sins. The only way to Heaven is through Him. "If you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9. In short, all you have to do to get to Heaven is accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. He's already forgiven all of your sins, all you have to do is accept that forgiveness.

God bless and hope this helps:)

Creation is something only to those who were created. Now, if one thing created everything, than that one thing couldn't have been finite, but must be eternal.

ghosts, are demons, or fallen angels, dead people only go to heaven or hell.

The proof is known as the bible, and you know the bible is true because they have found archaeological evidence of it. Also Jesus was written about by some roman historian who's name escapes me, and Josephus.

God doesn't choose if you go to heaven or hell, you do. everybody sins, it's what you do in your situation that puts you in heaven or hell. So, if you acknowledge your a sinner, but reject Jesus, you go to hell because you do not have Jesus, but if you accept Jesus and try not to sin, and believe in him, than you have the gift of eternal life.

You said:

"And lastly:

How does God choose you to be in heaven or hell?

So if we just do one sin, do we go to hell?"

The qualification to get into heaven is not so much about doing good or not sinning - it is more about accepting what Jesus has done for us and having a relationship with Him.

A couple of Bible passages illustrate this:

1 John 1:8-9

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Ephesians 2:8-9

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.

There are many other verses that support this, too.

Kind regards,

Mike

ps Its a shame you can't ask questions like this at your school - they are good questions which when studied can lead you into a greater understanding of our amazing God.

god has always been. he created everything. he has no begining and no end. that's what eternal means. There are no ghosts or such things. there are spirits . but not of people. There are other books and references that jesus existed in othe places other than the Bible. God does not choose you to be in heaven or hell . he chooses you to give you a chance to be forgiven and be ressurected immortal like jesus is now. don't ask the people here . there are very awful people here who hate god and everything he stands for. go ask somebody you know.

oh yea of little faith.... you sell your teacher short. if you go to him after class or phrase things in a non-argumentative way -- he can and would ask. come on hon, if i was able to ask a nun in the early 80's if you have to be a virgin to be a nun in front of an easy 50 people.... now, in the 2000's you can ask anything you want - if you approach it not as an attack or lack of faith but rather - really wanting understanding.

simple answer on heaven and hell....you know how when you do something wrong you have to make up for it and try not to do it again.... same th ing at the judgement. you will have to stand up and face everything you did right and everything you did wrong. as long as you choose Christ (even this times you don't but come back) you are mo ving in the right direction. don't forget even Jesus fell when He was carrying HIS cross. Our crosses in this life are different -- pre marital sex, lying, cheating, stealing, being a snot to our family or friends....

Hi there,

Good questions, let's see what we can do.

QUETION: Who made God? Nobody. God had no beginning and will have no end. This is of couse hard to conceive since in the material (physical) world everything has a beginning but God is not of the physical world, he is a spirit; and in the spiritual world not everything has to have a beginning.

Just because something is difficult to grasp (understand) this does not mean we have to refuse to accept it. For example the idea of an infinite (endless) universe is difficult to grasp but many accept it to be true. The idea that before the 'big bang' there was nothing (not even time) and that this "nothing" was always there is difficult to grasp, yet many accept this.

Some scientific 'mysteries' may always remain so, some spiritual truths are "mysteries" with answers we find hard to comprehend at the present time.

QUESTION: Is there proof that Jesus existed? Yes; Although references to Jesus Christ by early secular historians are meager, such references do exist and few serious historians actually doubt that Jesus existed

Cornelius Tacitus**, a respected first-century Roman historian, wrote that the Roman emperor Nero ‘fastened the guilt for the burning of Rome on Christians,’ and then Tacitus explained: “The name [Christian] is derived from Christ, whom the procurator Pontius Pilate had executed in the reign of Tiberius.”

“Early Talmudical accounts” of Jesus confirm ‘both the existence and the general character of Jesus.’

-Jesus of Nazareth, p. 20 (Jewish scholar Joseph Klausner)

While Polemic references to Jesus in the Talmud are accepted as genuine by certain scholars only, references to Jesus by Tacitus*, Suetonius, Pliny the Younger, and at least one by Flavius Josephus**, are generally accepted as proof of the historical existence of Jesus.

The Encyclopædia Britannica thus concludes: “These independent accounts prove that in ancient times even the opponents of Christianity never doubted the historicity of Jesus, which was disputed for the first time and on inadequate grounds by several authors at the end of the 18th, during the 19th, and at the beginning of the 20th centuries.”—1974 Edition, Vol. 10, p. 145.

=============================================================

* “Christus [Latin for “Christ”], from whom the name [Christian] had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus.”—The Complete Works of Tacitus (New York, 1942), “The Annals,” Book 15, par. 44.

** The first-century Jewish historian Josephus referred to the stoning of “James, the brother of Jesus who was called the Christ.” (The Jewish Antiquities, Josephus, Book XX, sec. 200)

particularly the classic Greeks knew the Earth replaced into around in the previous Aristotle, they had considered ships interior the horizon look mast-first and considered that the shadow of an eclipse is around instead of an oval. Aristotle in basic terms replaced into the 1st to approximate the Earth's circumference. As to the components of the Bible which use language that sounds like it truly is speaking a pair of flat Earth I see 2 ideas: they're the two literal wherein case they're of direction incorrect because of the fact the Earth isn't flat or they're metaphorical wherein case they at the instant are not inevitably fake.

So, you mean to tell me that your infant baptism didn't reveal this to you? And, here I thought that the Catholic Church had all of the answers.

If there is a God, he doesn't need to be created. By definition, a god is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient. Therefore, he is or he is not. But, if he is, he doesn't need to be created. Why? He's not human. He doesn't have to follow human rules.

You have proof of Jesus Christ not as the son of God but as a prophet in the Koran. Yep, Jesus makes a cameo!

If you sin you don't go to hell, what kind of god would send you to hell for sinning?!

It is said that when you die if you go to heaven you no longer want to sin and if you go to hell you no longer want to repent. However there is no real answer to everything you're asking because nobody has been to heaven or hell and back, and if they have nobody had a camera.

Did God have a beginning?

Ps. 90:2: “Before the mountains themselves were born, or you proceeded to bring forth as with labor pains the earth and the productive land, even from time indefinite to time indefinite you are God.”

Is that reasonable? Our minds cannot fully comprehend it. But that is not a sound reason for rejecting it. Consider examples: (1) Time. No one can point to a certain moment as the beginning of time. And it is a fact that, even though our lives end, time does not. We do not reject the idea of time because there are aspects of it that we do not fully comprehend. Rather, we regulate our lives by it. (2) Space. Astronomers find no beginning or end to space. The farther they probe into the universe, the more there is. They do not reject what the evidence shows; many refer to space as being infinite. The same principle applies to the existence of God.

Other examples: (1) Astronomers tell us that the heat of the sun at its core is 27,000,000 degrees Fahrenheit (15,000,000° C.). Do we reject that idea because we cannot fully comprehend such intense heat? (2) They tell us that the size of our Milky Way is so great that a beam of light traveling at over 186,000 miles per second (300,000 km/sec) would require 100,000 years to cross it. Do our minds really comprehend such a distance? Yet we accept it because scientific evidence supports it.

Which is more reasonable—that the universe is the product of a living, intelligent Creator? or that it must have arisen simply by chance from a nonliving source without intelligent direction? Some persons adopt the latter viewpoint because to believe otherwise would mean that they would have to acknowledge the existence of a Creator whose qualities they cannot fully comprehend. But it is well known that scientists do not fully comprehend the functioning of the genes that are within living cells and that determine how these cells will grow. Nor do they fully understand the functioning of the human brain. Yet, who would deny that these exist? Should we really expect to understand everything about a Person who is so great that he could bring into existence the universe, with all its intricate design and stupendous size?

Definition: The word “hell” is found in many Bible translations. In the same verses other translations read “the grave,” “the world of the dead,” and so forth. Other Bibles simply transliterate the original-language words that are sometimes rendered “hell”; that is, they express them with the letters of our alphabet but leave the words untranslated. What are those words? The Hebrew she’ohl′ and its Greek equivalent hai′des, which refer, not to an individual burial place, but to the common grave of dead mankind; also the Greek ge′en‧na, which is used as a symbol of eternal destruction. However, both in Christendom and in many non-Christian religions it is taught that hell is a place inhabited by demons and where the wicked, after death, are punished (and some believe that this is with torment).

Does the Bible indicate whether the dead experience pain?

Eccl. 9:5, 10: “The living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all . . . All that your hand finds to do, do with your very power, for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol,* the place to which you are going.” (If they are conscious of nothing, they obviously feel no pain.) (*“Sheol,” AS, RS, NE, JB; “the grave,” KJ, Kx; “hell,” Dy; “the world of the dead,” TEV.)

Ps. 146:4: “His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; in that day his thoughts* do perish.” (*“Thoughts,” KJ, 145:4 in Dy; “schemes,” JB; “plans,” RS, TEV.)

What sort of people go to the Bible hell?

Does the Bible say that the wicked go to hell?

Ps. 9:17, KJ: “The wicked shall be turned into hell,* and all the nations that forget God.” (*“Hell,” 9:18 in Dy; “death,” TEV; “the place of death,” Kx; “Sheol,” AS, RS, NE, JB, NW.)

Does the Bible also say that upright people go to hell?

Job 14:13, Dy: “[Job prayed:] Who will grant me this, that thou mayst protect me in hell,* and hide me till thy wrath pass, and appoint me a time when thou wilt remember me?” (God himself said that Job was “a man blameless and upright, fearing God and turning aside from bad.”—Job 1:8.) (*“The grave,” KJ; “the world of the dead,” TEV; “Sheol,” AS, RS, NE, JB, NW.)

Acts 2:25-27, KJ: “David speaketh concerning him [Jesus Christ], . . . Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell,* neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.” (The fact that God did not “leave” Jesus in hell implies that Jesus was in hell, or Hades, at least for a time, does it not?) (*“Hell,” Dy; “death,” NE; “the place of death,” Kx; “the world of the dead,” TEV; “Hades,” AS, RS, JB, NW.)

Does anyone ever get out of the Bible hell?

Does anyone ever get out of the Bible hell?

Rev. 20:13, 14, KJ: “The sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell* delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.” (So the dead will be delivered from hell. Notice also that hell is not the same as the lake of fire but will be cast into the lake of fire.) (*“Hell,” Dy, Kx; “the world of the dead,” TEV; “Hades,” NE, AS, RS, JB, NW.)

Why do many people not have faith?

Faith is a fruit of God’s spirit, and God gladly gives his spirit to those who seek it. (Gal. 5:22; Luke 11:13) So persons without faith are not seeking that spirit, or they are doing so for a wrong purpose or are resisting its operation in their lives. Many things influence this:

Lack of accurate Bible knowledge: The Bible is a product of God’s spirit, being inspired by God. (2 Tim. 3:16, 17; 2 Sam. 23:2) Failure to study it hinders any development of true faith. Although church members may have Bibles, if they have been taught the ideas of men instead of the Word of God, they will lack real faith in God and his purpose. To solve life’s problems, they will be inclined to rely on their own ideas and those of other humans.—Compare Matthew 15:3-9.

Disillusionment with religion: Many have been disillusioned by the hypocrisy of the churches of Christendom, which claim to teach God’s Word but fail to live in harmony with what it says. Others were adherents to a non-Christian religion, but they saw bad fruitage from its practices or found that their beliefs did not really help them to cope with the problems of life. Lacking accurate knowledge of the true God, such persons draw away from everything related to religion.—Compare Romans 3:3, 4; Matthew 7:21-23.

How can a person acquire faith?

Rom. 10:17: “Faith follows the thing heard.” (Compare Acts 17:11, 12; John 4:39-42; 2 Chronicles 9:5-8. A person must first find out what the Bible says, and he will strengthen his conviction if he examines it carefully so as to be convinced of its reliability.)

Rom. 10:10: “With the heart one exercises faith.” (By meditating on godly things to build up appreciation for them, a person impresses them on his figurative heart.)

Faith is strengthened when a person acts on God’s promises and then sees the evidence of God’s blessing on what he has done.—See Psalm 106:9-12.

Illustration: Perhaps you have a friend of whom you would say: ‘I trust that man. I can count on him to keep his word; and I know that if I have a problem, he will come to my help.’ It is not likely that you would be saying that about anyone you met for the first time yesterday, is it? He would have to be someone with whom you had long association, someone who had proved his dependability time and again. It is similar with religious faith. To have faith, you need to take time to get to know Jehovah and his way of doing things.
