If they hated there sins and also wanted to quit sinning because they thought they didn't want to go to hell is that selfish or is it normal thinking? If so how would they change doing that.

I like this Q!
The way its worded it just exposes the very psychology of religion itself is just part of an argument to deceive and take material resources. Nothing spiritual about it.
nh: lol are you serious?

I believe it is a completely normal reaction that a religious person would have. However, being I'm not actually a Christian anymore, I do believe that it is selfish to think that and that's why religious cults are so successful, because humans are naturally selfish. There is nothing wrong with that. How would they change thought processes? Simply find a way to adjust your attitude. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by change doing that, but I suppose it would be being selfish. You really can't change that. The Christian answer is to pray, read your Bible, and ask God for help, but you honestly can't help what you think. Acknowledge it and move on.

I think it's normal thinking. If you quit sinning, you'll be making the world a better place and doing us all a favour, so helping us. Not really that selfish if you think about it.

Sinning alone does not send people to hell. Rejection of Jesus as Lord and Savior is what sends people to hell. You cannot get to heaven by your own works. Even if you think you have lived a holy life, you still fall short and will still go to hell if you do not accept Jesus. We should try to live holy out of love for God, because that is what He wants us to do, but you cannot get to Heaven by your own works. It all depends on if Jesus is your Savior or not. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one gets to the Father except through Him. Your sins are forgiven if you have accepted Jesus. And I don't think not wanting to go to hell is a selfish thing. It's normal to want to spend eternity in Heaven.

No, that would be acting in legitimate self-interest, as Jesus recommended. It is normal thinking.
Mark 8: 35 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it. 36 What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? 37 Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?
Jesus wants us to focus on what is best for us, which is to live with him in eternal life.

After all, if only 144k people can go to Heaven through good works, the bestest work one can do is to not do good works; thereby giving up his spot in Heaven for the sake of another, but this good deed would surely earn him eternal life making this deed selfish...

Sinning doesn't send us to Hell it condemns us but it gives us a way out of sinning.

Any reason you choose to stop harming others is a good one. I'm pragmatic.
