(Catholics only) Why did this Catholic treat me the way they did?

This is kind of a long story, so bare with me.

I joined a "Prayer the Rosary" group on facebook a few months ago. And today I saw a video posted on their page about the Pope wanting us to prayer for the Filipino victims. And I wrote a comment saying, "If only the Pope would have consecrated Russia and not the world..."

So the person that made the page jumped down my throat and said I blamed the Pope for all the disasters that happened by the comment I wrote.

So i tried to explain to them that I did not mean any harm in my comment and I was not blaming the Pope for anything. I said that I just wrote that because if Russia was consecrated, then we would have world peace. I went on to saying that it's not the Popes fault because evil is stopping the bishops and him from doing it. So I explained myself but this person still said I blamed the Pope and went on and on for 2 hours straight how I was full of pride and stubborn.

They then said I was trolling and said that I said that stuff because I was a Protestant, which I'm not. I am Catholic. Then they blocked me.

What is going on. I need opinions, from Catholics only. Thank you. :)

Your statements are incredibly naive and it is naive to ask the Catholics on Y!As why a group of Catholics on Facebook acted some way.



Think about your logic -- Is Russia PART of the world? OR do they exist on some other planet?

So if the Pope's and Bishops consecrated the world - they DID consecrate Russia too.



Secondly, WHY do you think we'd have world peace IF Russia was consecrated? It is not like consecrating their nation (against the will of their leaders) would suddenly fix all the OTHER dictators and repressive regimes around the world. For instance, the genocide in Somalia or the Pirates off the coast of Africa, etc.

They may have blocked you, because you were derailing the purpose of their group. They may have drawn up some standards or 'mission statement' which you were violating. I don't know.



They might just be an emotional group that acts rashly and overreacts.



Have you ever considered that maybe they take a lot of flack from other people on Facebook and have become a bit gun-shy of criticism and simply over-reacted?

It seems that someone has very thin skin and is unsure of his beliefs. I am not sure as to why Russia needs to be consecrated but thats your opinion. Just because a country is consecrated doesn't mean that there will be world peace. sadly in this day and age everyone thinks they are better than another. Even some Catholics. I don't think its just the Philipines that need our prayers but right now they need all the help they can get in everyway possible. Just ignore them they are being silly and if he is going to block you he is not a very good Catholic anyway and you are better off joining a different group.

well the priest saw something in me and he called it an anomaly as the demon did not show much of himself and the Catholic church is the only church to ever say that I can be holy as God and righteous and the 1st church to say that maybe my desire to be holy as God is the reason the demon is not in full control. While the rest of the churches tossed me out of church because this demon would destroy all churches it goes to and they blame my desire to be holy as God and righteous straight from the devil and the devil is so strong in you for you desire to be holy and tossed me out of church. THAT being said the priest pat me on the shoulder and told me he did not know what to do, and that was that. I tried contacting the arch bishop and he said I need a doctors note for the holy spirit in them is dumb, and only a doc can tell them if I have a demon, only by the doctor can they even think about using the name of Jesus or have a exorcism done. OF course my faith will not allow me to follow that, and no one will help me unless the doctors say so because they know nothing of the spirit of God or things of the spirit, and are very worldly.





the other churchs, this demon wreaks the church and makes the pastors quiver in fear with their holy spirit, and even had one who said she had the holy spirit bow her to it and she was silenced and full of fear as the Pentecostal gasped the name of Jesus.



The catholic church, it does not disturb, could be because they are a little slow and very boring and the service where I am at is over in 20 min. So it is very quick to even get my eyes on the Lord with the family. BUT I still believe if this was another church slow as catholic the demon would show itself and disturb everyone so they could not pray or worship.





I told you this story because by the sound of your question you seem to be having doubts about the church because of some stupid online blog, and all this the catholic this and catholic that...

The pope is supposed to be infallible, and when you question the pope's actions, you are suggesting that what they did is wrong. This would go against the definition of infallible.



And by the way, I'm an atheist. It doesn't take a Catholic to see that.
