Why do people use the word Truth in place of the word Faith?

I hear people say things like " The Truth of Jesus Christ " and stuff like that all the time. But is it the Truth? Do they know it because they feel it? Do they feel it because they know it?

I tend to use the word Truth differantly.

I can have Faith that my car will get me to work today.
I can Believe that my car will get me to work today.
I will not KNOW that my car will get me to work today until it actually gets me to work.

And thats the Truth.

Christ said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."



Thus “The Truth” is often used as a proper name for Jesus Christ. Those of us that believe in Christ believe He is The Truth. If you don’t believe in Christ then this would be all meaningless to you.



Contrary to popular myth, faith is not blind. Faith is how we know God and if you don’t have faith it only seems blind from the outside. Just like it is very difficult to describe sight to someone that has never seen, describing faith to someone that has none is a very difficult task.



Essentially we all are given a “mustard seed” of faith. You can choose to care for it and gain more or reject what little you have and have nothing. But faith is actually a gift from God and you cannot attain it on your own. And without faith you will always be completely blind spiritually, none of it will ever make sense to you no matter how hard you try.



To gain faith you will need act on that little "mustard seed" and ask for more. Short of that you will always be lost.

I too choose to use the word Truth differantly, and I find it funny reading peoples comments about what is the truth.



There is a book called the 'True face of God' that I thought was very interesting, i thought this had more truth to it than believing in a supernatural God.
