1. Religion is often worse than no religion

2. The universe has always existed. There is no need for a "god".

3. Is Islam is the fastest growing religion on earth? In any case, popularity does not prove wisdom.

4. The Ka'ba is at 21°25'19.31"N, 39°49'34.34"E. The center of WHAT? This is stupid!

5. The Quran is the words of Muhammed.

6. The purpose of religion is to pacify and control humanity through intimidation.

7. There are more than one billion Muslims around the world showing a sign of disregard for human survival.

8. "Muslim terrorist" is an unfortunate reality. What it means to be a Muslim is promoting submission to the will of Allah. But people disagree on what that will is, sometimes violently.

9. Allah is, by definition, almighty, so his "creations" should not affect Him. Which raises the question, what is there in religion for God?

10. The Arabic word for "god" is "Allah" and Muhammad claimed to be the messenger of a one, true "Allah".

"1. Religion is better than no religion"

I fail to see how.

"2. All creation comes from a creator known as god"

So now all you have to do is demonstrate that anything was ever created, and that this creation (if it took place) required a conscious entity to perform it and couldn't simply happen as a result of natural occurrences.

"3. Islam is the fastest growing religion on earth."

That would probably depend on your definition. Muslims tend to have more children per capita than any other religious group. Percentage wise, however, Islam is not growing at anywhere near the rate enjoyed by other groups such as Pagans. Look it up, I dare you.

"4. The Ka'ba where muslims pray is at the centre of the earth. This is a wisdom from god."

The Earth is (near-)spherical. By definition, it has no "centre" on the surface.

"5. The Quran is the words of God."

Very doubtful. I've read it. It reads more like the words of a desert warlord 1500 years ago.

"6. The purpose of religion is to simplify and civilise humanity through intellect."

Hardly. The purpose of religion is to control the general populace, mainly through fear.

"7. There are more than one billion Muslims around the world showing a sign of the truth spreading"

And yet, there are more than two billion Christians. What's your point?

"8. Muslim terrorist is an Oxymoron. What it means to be a muslim is promoting peace. terrorism does not resemble peace."

You should definitely go find Osama bin Laden, or the leaders of Hezbollah, or perhaps Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and tell them that.

"9. Allah is Almighty and His creations do not affect Him. Neither space nor time."

That is your assertion. I'll be looking forward to your evidence for that.

"10. There is no god but Allah and his Messenger is Muhammad"

So you say. Can you back that up with anything even remotely resembling credible evidence?

1) In order to make proper judgments about the world, it is better to accept the truth than live in a fantasy for which there is no proof just because it is comfortable. If you have no religion, you can choose how to live your life, make up your own mind about what is right, and become more responsible as a result.

2) Evolution is one of the most widely accepted theories in science. It requires no creator God.

3) Ok-- so what? They have a young population, but even if that wasn't the reason Islam is growing, just because many people say something, doesn't count as evidence. If 50,000 people say a foolish thing, it's still a foolish thing.

4) The Earth has no center. It is a sphere.

5) There is no way to prove this.

6) Then why do the religious fight science (which represents the collective intellect of humanity) so often?

7) Again, just because an idea is popular, doesn't mean it counts as evidence.

8) The terrorists themselves disagree. Regardless, the real point is that these people (Muslim or not) were motivated in their actions by religious ideas. The material is there.

9) So, you're basically saying he doesn't exist in the physical world? You are almost an atheist!

10) Prove it.

1. Depends on the person. Some folks function better with religion and even enrich others' lives as a result of it, while others become destructive and intolerant.

2. That is an opinion with no basis in fact. It has as its support a combination of incredulity and what we still don't know. Incidentally, that also applied in the past to concepts that man did not understand and attributed to gods and other supernatural beings. If there is a creator, there is nothing to explicitly tie the universe to one.

3. I don't know if that's true.

4. The center of the earth is a ball of solid white-hot iron.

5. The Quran was written by an ancient warmonger.

6. The purpose of religion is to simplify human intellect.

7. There are more than one billion Muslims around the world, showing the power of indoctrination.

8. No True Scotsman fallacy.

9. Quetzalcoatl is Almighty and His creations do not affect Him. Neither do space or time.

10. There is no god that we can know anything about with any intellectual confidence.

(I don't have any beliefs to have opposites of...but what the heck, I'll play)

1. "Better" is a subjective term. What do you mean by "better?"

2. There is no evidence to show there is any god or that any god ever created anything.

3. It just might be. That doesn't make it correct...for a long time on this planet, Roman Paganism was the fastest growing religion, does that mean Jupiter IS the head god?

4. Apparently, this supposed god didn't know the earth was spherical. Go figure.

5. Unless you've got evidence to show that, I don't buy it. See #2.

6. I wasn't aware religion *had* a purpose. If it does, that ain't it.

7. Yes, there are. No, that's not a sign of "truth." It's an appeal to popularity fallacy.

8. If what it means to be a muslim is promote peace, why are there so many muslim terrorists? (72% of the known terrorist organizations in the world identify themselves as "muslim").

9. See #2.

10. See #2.

1. Religion often creates problems, such as discrimination and war.

2. Honestly, one being to make everything? Why? Who made god? Believe what you want though.

3. I really don't keep track.

4. Um, how can they pray at the center of the earth when it is molten nickel?

5. Again, God seems very unlikely. Maybe it's the words of an alien.

6. Intellect, uh huh, sure. Religion is not civilized, it creates too many problems.

7. What kind of sign?

8. People do crazy things. I'm not saying anything did or didn't happen. I tend to stay away from that discussion.

9. If that's what you believe, and it makes you happy, go for it. I don't buy it.

10. In all honestly, most religions seem very similar to me. Whatever makes you happy though.

1. Conflicting ideas are better than no conflicting ideas? Is that your statement?

2. Prove it. All you have is a book. The Big Bang and Evolution are both heavily supported by evidence and facts.

3. Can't disagree there, but it says nothing except muslims have big families.

4. The center of the earth is molten rock...have fun down there.

5. The Quran is words...I'll give you that. From God? I'd require a little more proof.

6. The purpose of religion is to get people together in a tightly formed group for stability, with the added advantage of control, and the disadvantage of group vs. group conflict / violence (see 1).

7. See 3.

8. I agree. Extremists are extremists, but religion gives them excuses to be extremists...there are a lot of excuses, but religion provides a new list that we don't need.

9. Disagree. You presuppose a God, I do not, this statement is meaningless.

10. Disagree.

The 'center' of the earth cannot be on its surface. The 'center' of the surface can only be chosen arbitrarily.

1. I disagree, people can be moral and live normal lives without it

2. I disagree, a combination of the cosmic expansion theory, abiogenesis, and evolution disprove god

3. It is growing rapidly, I don't know if its the fastest though, atheism is growing and its been ruled a religion in some parts of the world

4. I thought muslims prayed to the east.

5. I disagree since I'm an atheist

6. No, religion is dying as time goes.

7. Christianity was once in that place, doesn't mean its true,

8. There are religious radicals in all religions

9. Don't believe in any god

10. I don't believe in any god including allah.

1) I see no objective evidence that theism is a preferable philosophical position over atheism.

2) I see no evidence that anything was created through a supernatural process.

3) Popularity is not a good argument to use, as we all know that popular delusions exist independent of their veracity.

4) The Kaaba is not the center of the Earth. It is on the surface. It might be a focal point of Muslim prayer, and a holy site, but it is certainly not a molten ball of iron.

5) The Quran was, by all accounts, the written record of an oral history. There is no indication that it was divinely inspired, as a God would certainly know the sun does not set in a puddle of mud. I do think a God would know the sun doesn't set at all, nor does the moon shine by its own light.

6) The purpose of religion is to entice people to believe it is true. Anything else is secondary. That Islamic scholars kept science going in the European dark ages is much appreciated, but that was not the aim of Islam.

7) See item 3. Popularity is no indication of truth.

8) You need to tell that to terrorists who are Muslim and claim they do these things in order to satisfy their interpretation of Islam. I have no use for such information until you do so.

9) Then Allah shouldn't be that bothered by the things we do, should it? You'll have to explain why an exceptionally powerful entity would require us to do certain things in order to impress it. I can't imagine a God that needs to be impressed by any one of us. That is just silly to me.

10) Lack of evidence on either point gives me no reason to accept your assertion as valid.

1. No lie is better than any lie.

2. The chair I'm sitting on is god, therefore god exists.

3. So what?

4. So what?

5. Do you have a signed copy?

6. If so, it has failed miserably considering the number of people killed because someone thought they prayed to the wrong god.

7. Truth is not determined by vote but by evidence.

8. Who the hell are you to tell other people what their religion means?

9. It is not helpful to tell us what god is not when we have no idea what god is.

10. Sounds like a broken record.

9. Wrong.

10. Wrong again.

It won't be able to be helped. this is been long because time-venerated that religions of many kinds and atheists have bickered over the some years. It won't be able to be helped. human beings have critiques and decide directly to shelter what they suspect in; notwithstanding if it potential demeaning somebody and reducing them in a non-literal way as a effect making it as though they win the argument in basic terms simply by fact the opposing ingredient grew to become into suggested as a recognition. all human beings is people. people look after lots extra effective than one might desire to ever think of. Take an elementary criminal that robs countless shops and such. besides the indisputable fact that it fairly is offered that this individual is grasping and needs additional money, it fairly is even lots extra probable that this individual loves somebody in his/her existence, and desires to look after that individual by offering for him/her. in case you prefer to stay away from extra arguments, then I propose here. permit it pass. If a individual says something damaging approximately something you suspect in, permit it pass. no rely what you do, you will not exchange what grew to become into suggested, and it won't strengthen the placement. in fact, the extra you argue in comparison individual, the extra serious the placement gets. you in basic terms feed the hearth. So, next time you return throughout the time of something that offends what you suspect in, say: "Oh nicely, it fairly is his/her opinion, and that i'm not likely to have the skill to alter it. All i understand is, their opinion would not exchange something the two. i'm nonetheless who i'm, no possible say otherwise."
