Christians: Help, I became an atheist because I was angry at God?

Question

I was just so mad at God for not letting me have my dream of becoming a TV news anchor that I said "forget it" and became an atheist.

I'm over it now, and I know God would take me back if only I could drop this stubborn unbelief and crawl back into the sweet merciful arms of Jesus.

O Christians, won't you please post a wall of scripture and some encouraging fortune cookie quotes to help me find my faith again?

You don't want to be atheist anymore? Did you get tired of watching too much comedy tv, playing video games, and never getting off the internet? Yeah the life of an athesit can be pretty sad, lonely, and unproductive, but it doesn't take much to do research on a belief system and decide if you can believe in those things.

You do not need others to find your way, or way back, this is a contract between you and God, so others should not try and become "God's little helpers" because In my opinion, No living human knows if God exists, but come the individuals day of judgement they shall know, but not before.



Many religious people (including the clergy, they are living human beings ,like everybody else, they do provide a vital service though) think they are somehow "gifted" and can "think for God", consider they are his "voice piece", its a source of "one-upmanship", a crusade, which is a shame.

Religious "know it all's" are misled by their own misguided self importance.



And that is why non believers play ping pong with them,because we all are equal in the eyes of God anyway, but we are humans and bend rules (even rewrite some of them because their not convenient) nor follow the teachings etc as we see fit.



Find your way on your own, it belongs to you.

If you were angry at the god then you still believed it was a god of some description, therefore you were never an atheist.



Basically you have no need to look for a bus back to Nutsville as, in all honesty, you never left.

God knows you more than you know about yourself. God knows why you were angry and why you preferred to become an atheist..He also knows that you got angry at him because of your sincere love towards him and your faith in him. He will not forsake you..forget what has happened and simply trust in Jesus and give him your wishes.He will take care of it in its due time.
