I did not realize that Christians still really believed in witches. I have been talking with some Christians recently and to some Mormons that came to my door the other day. They told me they believe in demons, witches, devils and angels. I was flabbergasted. For some reason I assumed after they burned thousands of innocent people alive at the stake they realized not to take the bible literally. I know that there are still some who do like the Westboro baptists that protest soldiers funerals, but I thought it was just the fringe crazies who still thought like that. I was told that people can be 'possessed' by demons and devils and that witches can CAST SPELLS!!!!!. I asked one Christian about a murderer here in Maryland who has been diagnosed as a sociopath. He murdered his neighbor during a paranoid delusion. The Christian told me (and really believed) that a devil came up from under ground and was controlling him. So Christians aren't really embarrassed by the Salem witch trials or the Spanish Inquisition because they still think people are witches. Did anyone elso know that in the 21st century we still have people that believe this stuff?
