Do atheists want god to just show himself to the entire world one random day?

I remember in 1 Kings 18, Elijah set a bull sacrifice on fire to show the existence of his god. The Baal Prophets were unable to do this, so they converted over. Elijah had them all imprisoned and killed anyway.
There are multiple bible passages where god shows his existence. He is clearly not afraid to do so. So why can't believers create spontaneous fires?
If god was real, then proving him would be very easy. Since most believers don't really know what proof is, that is not a good sign for the religion.

There will never come/be a time when the existence of gods, pixies and Gnomes will be proved for all are completely imaginary.
Gods are absolutely the most absurd things ignorant primitives ever came up with to explain anything... they may as well have suggested that a one-eyed Turtle with the assistance of half a dozen near-naked, flat-chested Flamingos did it... ;)
God is completely illogical... purely because of the 'who made god?' issue.
To suggest 'he' was always there is as silly as insisting 'he' exists at all.

I don't know how you can prove a god exists. Isn't that your job? Yes, I think it is, and theists in general are behind the curve. Not only have they failed to support their claim that a god exists, but they've yet to even offer a good definition of "god." This does not bode well....

Even if no atheist could say what would convince them, any supposedly omniscient being should know. If theism is good for us, this supposed God should want us to know. The very existence of atheist, therefore, is evidence no being with those two traits exists.

One needs to understand what a belief is and the essence of such. Atheists ask for that which they know Theists can not provide for all they have, all they will ever have is a belief and their gods reside not in their building or in this universe but in the hearts and minds of their believers.

A personal showing would be nice, you know just for clarity. What would it take for you to say you don't believe in the existence of god(s).

A genuine miracle would be a good start. Part the oceans like Moses did. That'll get my attention. Grilled cheese sandwiches with a brown, crusty part shaped like the virgin Mary? not so impressive.

Dios es un concepto que ni siquiera tenemos, no tiene sentido intentar probar "algo" de lo cual ni siquiera está claro que es lo que vamos a probar.
Probamos cuestiones objetivas y constatamos hechos.

Yes God has to show Himself physically.

Yeah, why not show himself. Until he proves his existence himself, we have to have faith in the claims of man that he exists.

Which god is it going to be?
If it shows himself in front of me I'll have my hand round its throat for all the pain it has caused people.

The same way you would prove anything else exists.

It's been thousands of years. No god/dess has ever shown up and if there were an all-powerful one, he/she would know what to do.

Say, "in the name of the God of the Christian Bible, Yahweh, Jehovah, Emmanuel, King of Kings, I hereby cure the cancers of all the people of this planet". And, if it happens, I'll believe in God.

Provide hard based evidence to back up your claims.

If you can find evidence and then get your argument/evidence scientifically peer-reviewed, then we'll talk. But, really, that's all that is necessary.
