If Jesus is not the Anti Christ why does he promote alcoholism, gluttony and drunkeness?

The Bible commands stoning to death fo the alcoholic, and describes the addiction as gluttony, and even while the alcoholic is still under the care and protection of his parents, who must have him stoned to death(Deuteronomy 21:18-21).
The Gospels report Jesus as providing wine at the wedding at Cana to increase drunkenness, and as a Sacrament at the last supper.
John the Baptist "shall be great in the sight of the Lord and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink" (Luke 1:15) and John said he was not worthy to unloose the latchet of Christ's shoes (Luke 3:16), which is an indication that Christ would be greater and therefore never sin by gluttony or drunkenness and promoting sin.
John's mother named him John and refused a change of name for him (Luke 1:59,60), while the Gospels refuse to show the mother of Christ naming him Immanuel as the Bible prophesied and commanded.
Jesus appears 616 times in the 4 Gospels while Christ appears 51 times in the brainwash of the reader.

He didn't say Jesus was a drunk.

He asked why Jesus promoted alcoholism. Which, if you read the Bible you'd know he did. And the person who asked this question sited how Jesus condoned drinking. He turned water into wine for goodnessake!



But ya, he never said Jesus was a drunk. Just wanted to clear that up.

Some of you need to take a better and more open look at your Bibles. Everything is not rainbows and sunshine.

First, the guy referred to in the Deut. passage is a stubborn and rebellious son who refuses to acknowledge the authority of his parents. His drinking was only one facet of his offense.

Second, Jesus did not change the water to wine for the purpose of increasing drunkenness. Any teaching in the Bible about alcohol consumption condemned drunkenness -- not drinking. Consider the culture in which he lived -- in some places, fresh water was hard to come by and wine was common for everyone to drink. There were different kinds of wine and some of it was nothing more than what we would call grape juice.

Third, there were dozens of names that referred to God, his son and the Holy Spirit and there were many forms of each name, and Jesus was indeed called Immanuel on many occasions. Who are you to interpret Isaiah so legalistically to say that his actual given name had to be Immanuel?

Fourth, where in the world do you get the idea that Jesus promoted gluttony?



Your reasoning has an awful lot of holes in it. Why are you so intent on finding fault? If it's because of the religious fanatics that you've been exposed to, then that's the fault of men and their small minds-- not the son of God.

Jesus did not turn water into wine at the Cana wedding feast in order to "increase drunkenness."



He did so as a precursor to the wine used in the Last Supper, which He would transform into His Blood.

You need to study some history of the period. Too many people take the bible as literal. Drinking per se is not sinful but gluttoney and drunkeness is. Changing the water to wine was not to promote drunkeness. Wine was consumed because water was full of germs and disease.

Jesus criticizes the Jews for not killing their disobedient children as required by Old Testament law. (See Ex.21:15, Lev.20:9, Dt.21:18-21) 7:9-10

give me a verse that says jesus got Drunk, please? drinking in moderation is ok, getting drunk is not, the high priests did what you are doing now, called him a drunk, and they LIED and you know it. also, anything in excess is wrong, pretty much, eating too much, drinking too much learn some self control..if you cant drink in moderation, then dont even drink if it'll make you stumble.
