Question:
If science discovered proof of God tomorrow, what would we all do?

Gedanken Experiment:
Real Proof, say a Deiton particle, is discovered tomorrow. It can solve the many complex and contradictory links re: survival of central nervous systems synapses after death, what structured the Big Bang and the universe, why the universe would seem on the surface to be billions of years old, why technology would appear to work with this system, and it genuinely seemed to have an Intelligent direction to it.
Also say this passes peer reviewed studies and appears to be legitimate.
Would we change our behavior drastically?
Would society collapse and this actually cause Armageddon?
Would there be those of us who suspect and are able to prove massive fraud?
Would proof of that cause society to collapse?
Einstein said "Show me God!"
James Randi has said he'd glad to pay 1 million dollars for real proof of the supernatural. It would be worth the price. It would then become another area of science.
How disruptive would this actually be?

I would be the same ethical person I am now, but I would believe in God. What is the difference? You are assuming that the bad are Atheists and the good are believers. I am a better person then a lot of Christians i know that believe in god, preach and go to church. So my question to you is, who do you think would be surprised, the hypocrites who go to church and pretend to fear god, or Atheists? We Atheists are not the child molesters of the world, we have ethics because we want to, not because God said to. It's called Existentialism.

No, we make use of "deiton" particles for human purposes, to maximize OUR comfort, to build "Create-o-wave" ovens that can give us unlimited loaves and fishes without all that nasty tramping down to the all-night grocery store and paying our own real money for food (don't you HATE that?), and building NORAD's defenses up so when the True God of Hosts tries to come down for Judgment Day, we'll declare him an Illegal Alien as unwanted as a Soviet Nuclear Warhead, and blast him out of the sky! You say it can't happen? Why not? Lots of students out-do their teachers...

THAT'S what scientists will do!

The religionoids like to have their stroke-book fantasies, they get erections fantasizing that scientists will somehow be removed from their position of fundamental arbitors of reality and get some sort of come-uppance. The religious can only fantasize about evidence of God! They like to say that "no amount of evidence of God will convince an Atheist". And that is precisely what they are pleased to present: NO amount of evidence, at all!

It appear as if Auntie Pantie nailed it!!! hi, I easily have info previous ALL doubt and quickly[in accordance to the want of God] there must be released a 'regulation of the creation' wherein often is the equation for the regulation it truly is gravity between different truths, certainly one of that's that united states of america of america is given over to its enemies["dying to united states of america of america!"] in 2018AD as a results of fact there's a time and a season for each purpose[Rev17:sixteen] decrease than heaven. 'technological wisdom' on no account stumbled on something, yet all issues are revealed via God at His perfect time and so 'wisdom has larger' in those final 2 hundred years as a results of fact HE suggested it would interior the 6th century B.C.[Dan12]

If there was proof of god tomorrow, sure I'd believe one exists.. But, which god would it be? I certainly wouldn't worship the Judeo-Christian god.. That goes against my better judgement.

I would most likely become a deist.. If god does exist, most likely it is one that simply disappeared after creating this universe.

Well it would prove ALL science incorrect. ALL of it. Science is based off finding natural causes for occurences in life. So finding a supernatural being would destroy every single thing we know about the universe.

Truly, what predictions does the God hypothesis make? I guess I would say none... if the God hypothesis made a prediction, we could test it, and then we wouldn't have this problem (religion). It is a complete wildcard. The deiton would work in mysterious ways.

proof of god is impossible. and thats the way it just is. life is a test and if we knew there was a god than we wouldn't fear death and then the test would be tainted. having death looming over our heads is the only legit way to test someone.

god wants to see how we react in a very tough environment where selfishness is incredibly easy to slip into.

Proof of what god?

This isn't possible even in theory, so I can't play what-if.

Are you referring to a non-specific god? "some" god?

If you don't know anything about this god, not even if he runs a heaven/hell operation, what's different, really?

If I was given actual proof of God I would most certainly believe in it.

If God came and spoke to you personally would you believe in Him? Would your pride keep you from admitting you were wrong?

If they could prove God exists, ( I remind you they have many many times before) in a week the atheists and ect. would have 'evidence' countering that proof. They always have.

If their was proof all that would change is that their is god so what now we can cuss at him all we want and know he's listening.

GOD is a metaphor. Now, what will you do?

I don't believe anything would change! Why should it? Does this God care about what we do?

Science discovered proof of God many years ago.

Why didn't you notice?
