If 2 people are in a field, and one is taken out of the field, where is the other?
Simple, in the field.
So where was the other one taken? This is the questions the disciples asked in Luke 17:37, to which Jesus answers:
"...Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together."
It is clear that to be 'taken' is to die, to perish, to be dead.
This is the same in the new testement in reference to the flood:
Matthew 24:39 "And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away, so shall the coming of the Son of man be."
Our first passage, in Luke speaking of Christ's return, tells us the lives of the wicked will be 'taken' and the second confirms this telling us the wicked at Jesus's return will share the fate of the wicked during the flood.
Those that are left are 'alive'.
Hope this helps everyone.
God Bless
