When is the world ending?

I keep seeing this post, by all religions at various times throughout EACH YEAR.

Can an Atheist answer this question properly so the religious people will understand when the world will actually end and how it will end

It ends in 5 billion years when the SUN goes nova

It will not end completely until then and when it does it will end in a ball of flame which turns to plasma as our sun consumes the inner planets, including us

2012: Beginning of the End or Why the World Won't End?

11.06.09

Remember the Y2K scare? It came and went without much of a whimper because of adequate planning and analysis of the situation. Impressive movie special effects aside, Dec. 21, 2012, won't be the end of the world as we know. It will, however, be another winter solstice.

Much like Y2K, 2012 has been analyzed and the science of the end of the Earth thoroughly studied. Contrary to some of the common beliefs out there, the science behind the end of the world quickly unravels when pinned down to the 2012 timeline. Below, NASA Scientists answer several questions that we're frequently asked regarding 2012.

Question (Q): Are there any threats to the Earth in 2012? Many Internet websites say the world will end in December 2012.

Answer (A): Nothing bad will happen to the Earth in 2012. Our planet has been getting along just fine for more than 4 billion years, and credible scientists worldwide know of no threat associated with 2012.

Q: What is the origin of the prediction that the world will end in 2012?

A: The story started with claims that Nibiru, a supposed planet discovered by the Sumerians, is headed toward Earth. This catastrophe was initially predicted for May 2003, but when nothing happened the doomsday date was moved forward to December 2012. Then these two fables were linked to the end of one of the cycles in the ancient Mayan calendar at the winter solstice in 2012 -- hence the predicted doomsday date of December 21, 2012.

Q: Does the Mayan calendar end in December 2012?

A: Just as the calendar you have on your kitchen wall does not cease to exist after December 31, the Mayan calendar does not cease to exist on December 21, 2012. This date is the end of the Mayan long-count period but then -- just as your calendar begins again on January 1 -- another long-count period begins for the Mayan calendar.

Q: Could phenomena occur where planets align in a way that impacts Earth?

A: There are no planetary alignments in the next few decades, Earth will not cross the galactic plane in 2012, and even if these alignments were to occur, their effects on the Earth would be negligible. Each December the Earth and sun align with the approximate center of the Milky Way Galaxy but that is an annual event of no consequence.

Q: Is there a planet or brown dwarf called Nibiru or Planet X or Eris that is approaching the Earth and threatening our planet with widespread destruction?

A: Nibiru and other stories about wayward planets are an Internet hoax. There is no factual basis for these claims. If Nibiru or Planet X were real and headed for an encounter with the Earth in 2012, astronomers would have been tracking it for at least the past decade, and it would be visible by now to the naked eye. Obviously, it does not exist. Eris is real, but it is a dwarf planet similar to Pluto that will remain in the outer solar system; the closest it can come to Earth is about 4 billion miles.

I certainly hope the people answering "five billion years" are assuming that humans will destroy themselves, and that no technological species will ever arise on Earth.

Otherwise, that perspective is myopic beyond description. If humanity is still around one thousand years from now, the Sun will *not* become a red giant, the Earth will *not* be consumed in fire, and the Earth will *not* "end", atleast not until the terminal point of the universe.

Most likely, the Sun will be mined for material to construct a Dysonsphere or similar construct, and the Earth will have a thin shield constructed over it and be moved to a safe location, perhaps a different star system, perhaps to a galactic void, as a sort of natural preserve or museum.

No one knows that answer except God. Not even God's Son or the angels in heaven. To presume that you know or anybody else, and consulting one that says they know, is foolish!

We know that all life form, as we know it, dies, and there is no eternal life on/in this earth/life!

Revelations 21:1 says there will be a new earth and a new heaven, but it does not state the time. In fact, the writer of Revelations (John) was instructed by the angel of the Lord to close the Books up to us and himself, because no one knows, but that God was going to come back like a thief in the night. No one knows when a thief is going to come, they are just suppose to be prudent and be prepared for one when it does come.

2 Peter 3:9-13 - The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some people count slackness, but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish (eternal destruction after this life), but that they all should come to repentance.

10) But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noice (like a tornado or a hurrican), and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are within the earth shall be burned up.

11) Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of person are you to be?

I'll let you try and find it to read the rest for yourself.

Everybody won't make it in nor do they believe. The whole world atest to His coming because no one is staying here. We all die, like the Word of God says!

Science tells us that (if nothing unforeseen happens) in about 5 billion years, the Sun will enter a red giant phase and consume the Earth. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun#Life_cycle

====

"But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come." (Mark 13:32-33)

Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.

Each new Christian denomination seems to worry about the end of the world a bit too much. Then after a couple of centuries, they realize that there are always wars and rumors of wars, etc.

I won't even mention the hundreds of false predictions of the end of the world over the centuries, all of which were based on individual interpretations of biblical prophecies.

The first century Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.

The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus' advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.

Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

For more information, about what Catholics believe about the end of the world, see: http://www.americancatholic.org/Newsletters/CU/ac0993.asp

It depends on what "world" you are talking about. Unchecked, global warming could lead to a tremendous die-off of plant and ocean life within the next century, with devastating effects on the human population. But some people are trying to mitigate the change, so who knows?

Unless something unexpected happens, the sun is likely to run out of hydrogen in the next 4 to 5 billion years, swallowing Earth in its resulting expansion. But we'll be gone from there long before, one way or another, because the Andromeda Galaxy will start colliding with ours long before then.

There are simply too many variables to predict when humanity might go extinct, if ever, or when the Earth may be unable to support life or may simply be destroyed. But there is no current evidence that anything cataclysmic will happen within the next twenty years. The biggest threat to humanity right now is atmospheric carbon. The biggest threat to the planet is billions of years away.

For all practical purposes, this planet will never end. The Bible told us this long before any atheist or scientist.

Psalms 104:5---"He has founded the earth upon its established places; It will not be made to totter to time indefinite, or forever."

Ecclesiastes 1:4----"A generation is going, and a generation is coming; but the earth is standing even to time indefinite. "

Isaiah 45:18-----"18 For this is what Jehovah has said, the Creator of the heavens, He the [true] God, the Former of the earth and the Maker of it, He the One who firmly established it, who did not create it simply for nothing, who formed it even to be inhabited: “I am Jehovah, and there is no one else. "

This planet was built to last forever and to be lived on forever. The Bible speaks of earth BOTH as the planet and as the people alive on it.

Even though all the above is true, that does not mean ALL of its people will survive. What will be destroyed?

Psalms 37:9-11------"9 For evildoers themselves will be cut off, But those hoping in Jehovah are the ones that will possess the earth. 10 And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. 11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace."

28-30------"And he will not leave his loyal ones. To time indefinite they will certainly be guarded; But as for the offspring of the wicked ones, they will indeed be cut off. 29 The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside forever upon it."

This clarifies it will be the wicked people on earth destroyed only. Those truly obeying God's will will live forever just as Adam & Eve were supposed to do.

As to exactly when this will happen, Jesus only told us the general time frame. Or how we would know it would be soon. Matthew 24:36, after giving us key identifiers, he says of the exact time, "36 “Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father. ......[Speaking about the time just before the Flood, the attitude was--] 39 and they took no note until the flood came and swept them all away, so the presence of the Son of man will be."

We get from this that if God did not reveal the specific time to his own son [showing trinity is impossible] he would not reveal it certainly to some old man in Australia. That time is dependent on what 2 Peter 3:9 identifies, "Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with YOU because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance." How do we know this is happening now?

At Rev. 18:4-5, an angel has just issued a call announcing the fall of the planet wide body of false religions. This is what he now says, "And I heard another voice out of heaven say: “Get out of her, my people, if YOU do not want to share with her in her sins, and if YOU do not want to receive part of her plagues. 5 For her sins have massed together clear up to heaven, and God has called her acts of injustice to mind. " This is happening now and God is being very patient so that all those with the right attitude or heart condition will get out of false religions to get to his designated place for their safety.

My Bible tells me that no one knows, just that there will be indications of when it will take place. One of the things that does concern me is the global warming issue. It happened 5000 years ago and will probably happen again. That was when most civilizations began to form by migrating to the fertile valleys such as the Nile, the Tigris-Euphrates, the Ganges etc. The only problem is that the earth carries 7 billion people now so it will be more severe.

1). No one knows.

2). The world (Earth) will never end, it will be here long after us humans have killed ourselves, until the sun dies about and becomes a red giant and consumes the earth that is.

The world will end on a personal level, when one dies.

The earth itself will end when the sun goes nova(supernova, whatever),flares up and vaporizes the inner planets.

As soon as you hear Children getting killed in some Churches..

The most convincing sign of any 2nd coming of Jesus that the Clergy hides from public knowledge is the slaughter of innocent children!

The Bible writers made it into a clear pattern celebrated by Christians that God has innocent children sadistically slaughtered to scare religious people into catching their attention!

In the story of Noah, God had the whole world, including children and pregnant women killed by drowning.

Noah’s family, SATAN and ALL THE DEMONS were saved through the flood!

God was very upset at his glitch of creating people; not angels or Demons, but people with the capacity of getting more “violent all the time” Gen 6:11-13. Satan is OK; he never got any more violent!

The Noah’s Flood story doesn’t make any sense!

Saint Peter, the First Pope claims that GOD created this humongous universe as an accessory for the slaughter of God the Son Jesus Christ.

Anybody believing this story will be “saved” to worship God “without rest” day and night, for zillions of years.

If true, then there was no need for any catastrophic Noah’s Flood!

We live in a microscopic speck of dust that we call the Earth. In the Jew, Christian and Muslim religions God created Adam ONLY to take care of a little garden… Eve was put together later on as an afterthought.

Mohammed got the same idea for his macho oriented Muslim religion, but in a different direction! Each Muslim man in Heaven will be amused for zillions of years deflowering 72 virgin girls that as soon as the guy withdraws his blood stained penis from their vagina, the girls become virgin again and again with brand new hymens. Also, the Muslim guys will never lose their erection!

The majority of the Muslim men are of a very primitive macho orientation willing to kill the infidel defending their religion!

http://wikiislam.net/wiki/72_Virgins

http://www.albatrus.org/english/religions/islam/72virgins_and_boys.htm

On the Christian side, Jesus picked 144,000 virgin Jewish MEN to amuse himself in Heaven for ever and ever for zillions of years (Rev14:3-4)!

1 Peter 1:19-20

But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without SPOT*

(*but full of Roman soldiers’ SPIT!)

who verily* (*no bull crap!) was FOREORDAINED before the foundation of the world!

The Bible story of the death of God the Son Jesus Christ on a Holy Roman Cross is a 1st degree premeditated murder!

If God ever existed, he wouldn’t stand a chance in any legal Court of Justice today!

The Christian religion is very primitive and vile!

In the Bible stories, Eve was clearly not after fame, beauty, sex, money, or power, but plain knowledge of good and evil that only belongs to the Clergy.

Neither a Guardian Angel, nor God told Eve that the talking snake was evil!

2 Peter 3:10-12

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night*

(*they thought that at NIGHT the whole flat Earth is in darkness)

in which the HEAVENS*

(*at least 3, plural –Cor12:3! Some theologians claim up to 7 Heavens)

shall pass away with a great noise*

(*like in a reverse BIG BANG. Christians expect that the whole universe will blow up anytime soon!)

and the elements*

(*including all the atomic particles!)

shall melt with fervent heat, THE EARTH also and the works that are therein shall be burned up…*

(*a lot of Christians, including US Presidential candidates believe that SCIENCE is a Communist plot to hurt America)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WynH9nJuSuk&NR=1

About 2,000,000+ Jews were liberated from Egypt on a contest of who worships the meanest God of them all!

The Jewish God won by slaughtering all the first born children of Egyptian parents (Exo12:12).

There isn’t a trace of historical evidence that any of it ever took place except in the mind of the smutty Bible writers!

They claim that when God the Son Jesus Christ was born, King Herod had all the innocent male children under 2 years of age slaughtered so badly that not even God the Holy Ghost had enough power to comfort the grieving mothers (Mat 2:18)!

Christians today are still determined to worship “JESUS” in spite of his promise to slaughter the CHILDREN of any parent attending the wrong Church!

Revelation 2:23

I* (*Jesus) will strike her* (*Church) children dead*

(*abortionists deal only with the fetus when necessary! None of them kill children!)

Then all the churches will know*

(*typical mafia boss talking! Jesus is addressing ALL Church brands)

that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds*

(*Christians know that God winks an eye at them for paying their dues to the Church Treasury on time and as promised… Acts 5:1-11!).
