Question:
What religion are you a part of? Why?
2010-04-02 16:25:48 UTC
I am just curious what religion any random person on here is.
I am not interested in you pushing your region on me, telling me what the truth is or not. But rather why you are part of that religion.

Not "religion".......Relationship......Real Christian......because that is The One that has Yeshua/Jesus---The Truth. John 14 (Amplified Bible)

6Jesus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me.

When I was nine years old, my parents and I finally moved into a house and we began attending one church each week. I kept reading verses in the Bible that I heard the pastor say earlier on the Sunday and asking: "Did Jesus really do that or is Luke just making that up? Hmmm ..."

My best friend in Scripture for seven months was Thomas (see John 20). And that is because Thomas doubted Jesus. "Good for you, Thomas. You should doubt things that sound unreal."

Finally, I read John 20 once again and said: "Well, Thomas, I will never see Jesus like you did. But, Christianity is rational. It makes a lot more sense than other religions. And even if there was some form of evolution or some Big Bang, well, something had to start up everything. There has to be a God." That is when I surrendered my life to Jesus.

Unfortunately, many people enter a church building or a company or a college - whatever - thinking "What can I get out of this for myself?" and not thinking about reaching out to others.

And many, after seeing this happen in churches, choose to stay away from attending church. That is easy to understand. The last time I moved to a new town, I visited nine churches before I found one to settle down at. And, you know, it is one thing to say "I am a Christian" and it is another thing to live like a Christian.

I'm a deist, not really much of religion. I think that if there really is some enormously powerful being as is described by many different cultures, he/she/it doesn't care for small and meaningless things like religion, so called holy books, Jesus, Mohammed, etc. I don't think someone is judged based on some ambiguous idea of accepting a dead human as a so called "savior." You just need to be a good person, atheist, agnostic, Christian, Hindu, Muslim, whatever. And I don't think that anyone can accurately describe what this entity is. I guess the reason why I believe there is something out there rather than not is because there has to be some originating factor for the universe itself. Whether that is a physical force, being, entity or what have you, I think that is truly "god."

The word "religion" as you use it here is a negative term to describe a body of ritual behavior. I believe in the Bible, and do not subscribe to any standard religious denomination or church. The true church is the degree to which the Bible resides in you, through the inspiration of God, without which you would be incapable of doing His will. Read Ephesians2: 8&9....think on it.

I am a Muslim from Islam.

Islam is the right religion because in our holy book the Quran, there have been many many things in the Quran that were later proved. For example, Ramses the third or second (I always get mixed up!) His face and everything is still perserved! you can see pics of it and everything! And in the Quran, it says that our Lord, Allah did that as a sign that Islam is the right religion.

Islam it self mean peace. Thats what our religion is all about.

You asked a good question. I mean the WHY? part.

I'm in a religion that follows the teaching of Jesus the Christ and His Apostles. Jesus is the God in the Old Testament as the Lord (Jehovah) God (elohim) or as John 1:1 (Word) and the New Testament as the Word (John 1:1-3) and Jesus the Christ.

We obey His teachings as we keep the Holy Days in Leviticus 23 as Jesus and His Apostles did in the New Testament.

I have living this way for 48 years now. We are the original Christianity and NOT from the Roman Catholic Religion as most religious groups are.

I do respect other religions but i personally find christianity sexist and I don't want to be a part of it although i respect others who are part of it. I hope this satisfies your curiosity :D

I am spiritualistic, Alan Kardeck's doctrine that codified the spiritism proceed, I am Brazilian and here in Brazil the spiritism is a very spread doctrine, it gets confused with the Catholicism.

I formerly saw some figures, some spoke to me, I went to seek the origin of that phenomenon and then I followed studying the spiritism.

Christian. Lots of great religious leaders have been very spiritual and saintly (almost otherworldly, you could say), but what was so different about Jesus? The Bible says one thing set Jesus apart from every other person who has ever lived: He was both fully God and fully man. The Bible says, "For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form" (Colossians 2:9).

In other words, Jesus wasn't just a godly person who possessed an extra measure of spirituality. Nor was He simply a great religious teacher who had unusual insight into God's will. Nor was He only someone with special spiritual powers who could do miracles. He was more than these—for He was God in human form. Think of it: Twenty centuries ago, the holy God of the universe stooped down, entered this sinful world, and became a human being!

Why did He do this? One reason is so we could know what God is like. The Bible says, "No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known" (John 1:18). And what do we learn about God when we look at Jesus? We see God's love—a love so strong, Christ was willing to go to the cross for us. We also see God's power over evil, for by His resurrection from the dead, Christ conquered sin and death and Hell and Satan.

But Christ also came to offer us the gift of eternal life. Death is not the end, for beyond is the joy of heaven for all who belong to Him. Have you responded to His love by opening your heart and life to Christ? Don't let another day go by without Him, but by faith commit your life to Him today.

I am Athiest, which means i dont believe there is a God at all.

If God is such a nice guy, why doesn't he save innocent people who die every day, why doesn't he come to my house and give me some money for my kids, why doesn't he fix our economy or find a cure for AIDS?

I'm not trying to sound like an idiot, but if you reallly look at the real evidence that you can see and prove, you would understand why i am Athiest.

Taoism/Buddhism with Diesm mostly Agnostic though. I was christian, but experience taught me to expand my horizons (christians don't treat other christians right, calling them false christians, and even going so far as to kill them for being the "wrong brand" of christianity) I really liked the concept of Star Wars, and it made more sense than christianity. I would like to think if there is/are gods, they probably dont give a rat's behind about human problems, which is what I see through my own experiences: for example if there was a god/gods why were certain events in history allowed to happen like the Holocaust and slavery in the civil war era?

You know; you can work on what you feel and see if you can develop into something with some substance. I do not believe in the religions of this world but I do believe in faith in God and association with fellow believers. I do believe that God's people are an organized Christianity though. Take from that what you will but I believe trying to be associated to God as an individual is not of much worth.

As for your views on things these can change too, if we see credit in a new way learned. I do not think that one should limit themselves to a view where they become rigid in their views and hence think that they have all they need to know. As I say that, I am not saying that we cannot establish what is right and wrong. But we should establish what is right and wrong based on knowledge, not a self-opinion based on what feels good or generalized views from the world.

This is your choice and if you believe in God, it is one of the most important choices you will ever make.

I am a Roman Catholic Christian Monotheist. I believe that Jesus of Nazareth rose from the dead , and was the prophesied savior.

And if you plan to thumbs down based on my faith, then you have problems. Thumbs down or up based on whether or not the answer insulting a religion or whether or not the answer is good.

Deism, I pretty much believe that there was a creator or a creative force and until someone can explain to me in English how energy and matter was created I was still be a deist. I tend to agree with atheists on most things though. Also I will admit I am kinda scared of death, and I really don't like the idea of non existence after death even though I know it sounds childish, but hey it is my life and I want to continue it, so I cross my fingers for reincarnation.

I am a Muslim because I feel like my religion protects me, and that everything in it has wisdom of God behind it, and I think everyone might feel this way about their religion also.

I feel that my religion is clear, and uncontradictory for me, and it is a lifestyle that gives me a positive attitude towards everything in life. It teaches me to remember God with everything I do, whether it's good OR bad, and that God has made something happen for a reason. Having these beliefs with me helps me get through the day....instead of wondering what is out there. My questions about life are ALWAYS answeres through the Quran and the prophets. This is the most fulfilling part for me.

I dont call it a religion. I call it a gift.

But I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. The title given me by the world is "Christian".

I believe Jesus is the son of God because "Christianity" is the only teaching in which you cannot save yourself by the works you do. You cannot bow to the eastern wall any certain number of times to get to heaven. You cannot outweigh your good deeds by your bad deeds to get to heaven, You cannot follow an "8 fold path" to get to heaven. You cannot DO anything without the shedding of the blood of Christ - a willing sacrifice that took place to pay for my sin. I am bought with that price. I did nothing to deserve it.

In all other beliefs around the world, YOU are your own savior; indirectly, but certainly.

The closest that I come to is Wiccan, though I'm not part of any structured group. There is a group that on occasion I will join for Sabbats and Esabbats but that's about it. Why, it feels the most right to me personally. And in a religion/belief system that should be the most important thing.

Islam. Why?

1-The only religion that is based on logic and reason

2-The only religion that proves itself through logical arguments

3-The only religion that is capable of proving the existence of God (Allah) through scientific facts that concern all fields of life

4-The only religion that provides solution to all the problems of life

5-The only religion that keeps the creature in constant contact with his Creator 24/24 and 7/7

6-The only religion that makes an equilibrium between this world and the hereafter

7-The only religion that sees all people are equal front of God (black or white, old or young, male or female etc)

8-The only religion whose Holy Book is Authentic and was saved both in the heart of the believers and on papers

9-The only religion that makes its believers believe in all the prophets before Islam's prophet (peace be upon them all) and teaches them to respect them all equally

10- The last but not the least, it's a BEAUTIFUL religion

I am atheist. True, atheism does not tell me right from wrong. It does not make me feel warm or fuzzy. It does not give me a place to run to when I'm scared. But that's because I don't ask it to. It has never told anyone they don't belong- no one is rejected if they want to become atheist. It does not tell me who I am allowed to marry or be friends with. It does not tell me what to do or not do with my body. It has never started a war. Overall I find it much more peaceful and liberating. Plus, the idea that there are so many gods people believe in, to devote yourself to one and claim it to be the right one seems kind of silly to me.

JUDGMENT DAY IS 13 MONTHS AND 19 DAYS FROM TODAY

according to Scripture....there will be nothing but eternal death after that Day, according to Scripture; that Day, Saturday May 21st, 2011, is 7,000 years [to the day] from the Flood of Noah's day, according to Scripture...it is 23 years [to the day] from the start of the Great Tribulation on May 21, 1988, according to Scripture; it is 13,023 years from Creation in 11,013 BC --this Bible Calendar of all history-Creation to Judgment Day, begins in Genesis 5 and 11, according to Scripture.

Christ will come only for His Elected, saved people on Saturday May 21st, 2011, most people will be caught that day by the Thief In The Night [5 times in Scripture], most will be left behind for a period of Hell-on-Earth and eternal death ["the 2nd death"]...but God's Elect will know the timing of Judgment Day [I Thes. 5, Rev 3:3, etc., etc.]

Just as National Israel lasted 2,000 years, so the New Testament era likewise: no one can change nor hold back this Day.

The Bible does not teach:... "of that Day and Hour knoweth no man" [unless you yank this verse, Matt 24:36, out of its context]...Jesus said in the following verse, Matthew 24:37 [part of v. 36] "BUT AS IT WAS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH..." and, even children can see in Genesis 6 & 7 that God gave Noah 120 years advance warning that He was going to destroy the whole Earth with a Flood, giving Noah and his family 120 years in which to build that 450 ft long, 3 story Ark.

The Bible does not teach that Jesus Christ does not know the time of Judgment Day on Saturday May 21st, 2011...Christ is God and is specifically called "eternal Father" in Isaiah 9:6 and many other places.

You can learn all that the Bible teaches about the timing of Judgment Day on Saturday May 21st, 2011 at familyradio.com or at ebiblefellowship.com or at bmius.org Especially consider the booklet available there online called "We Are Almost There", or order it free at 800-543-1495 [PST 9-5 weekdays].

Jesus said "Every idle word that man shall speak, he shall give account thereof in the Day of Judgment..." in Matt 12:36.

It is the final religion of Judaism and Christianity

The Koran contains many scientific facts which were discovered by scientists years & years later.

It doesn't reject the theory of evolution because it doesn't say anything about it.

Dinosaurs is mentioned in the Koran, though.
