Can I change Lodges?

I am an EA at a Lodge in California and would like to know if I can switch to a another Lodge before I become a MM? I don't like the one I currently attend and would like to switch to one that is more active and is closer to my home. My current Lodge is having trouble with it's WM and it isn't a strong Lodge (low moral and attendance and in-fighting) . My EA ritual was very disappointing, and would like my FC and MM rituals to be more memorable.
If I can switch Mother Lodges, how do I go about it?
Please only fellow brethren need reply.

I will neither confirm nor deny that I know what you're talking about.

(It doesn't seem like there should be much required in changing Lodges, from what I gather.)

Dear Brother EA

You can change lodges provided you meet another brother from the lodge you wish to attend. If you do not know someone, go to the lodge the night of their meeting and introduce yourself. Explain your situation. Be prepared to be re investigated. You won't have to pay the initiation fee again I think. Being a member in one state I move to another and was re investigated. I'm not sure about it if you have not become a MM. There have been many changes in the Masonic Lodge since they have opened it up to " Friend to Friend " Sorry your lodge is not what it should be. Since I transferred, my new lodge folded up and combined into another lodge. Hope you find a better lodge.

My husband was able to change local lodges simply because his hours at work were switched and he would not be able to attend the meeting nights with his original lodge.

A friend from his old lodge called someone from his new lodge and told him to expect him.
