Since my other question got removed...
I will ask again...

LDS, Mormons, what was the purpose of JS marrying women that already had mormon husbands, some sealed already?

And what about these failed proposals??
John Taylor's Wife, Leonora
Heber C. Kimball's Wife, Vilate
Orson Pratt's Wife, Sarah
Hiram Kimball's wife, Sarah
William Law's Wife, Jane
These are upstanding mormon leaders of the time...

I will probably be reported for this but it is damn worth it. Joseph Smith himself was the one with the "flaming sword".

When I left the church a couple decades ago, I had never heard a whisper about Smith and polygamy. We were told it started in Utah. Since then the awareness of what Smith did has slowly crept in. There are many, many statements about his sexual activities. Many are very credible and by famous Mormons of the day.

The church still skips over the facts in its websites and lessons, but even apologists now talk of it openly. Many of the marriage records are in the LDS genealogy database.

I wonder how many more decades before they acknowledge the rest of the statements his contemporaries made?

He messed around. He covered it by inventing polygamy for top level Mormons and then lied about it to his dying day even to the lower level LDS.

Because Mormons want their religion to be the world's most popular. In order to acheive this, the men must do every woman in their creepy cults. Mormonism is based on some giant clusterfu*k!

No offense. If you actually want to know the answer to this question then ask an LDS in person. Or ask one personally through e-mail. You are going to see a lot of false things about it.

O and Joseph Smith was not addicted to having sex. That would go against the ten commandments and so much more. Plus it flat out gross and false.

First off we discontinued plural marriage in the late part of the 19th century. Second, we are not immoral we don't drink which means we are free of liver disease, we don't smoke which means we don't get lung cancer. These are helpful guidelines to be free of sin and vice you people on the other hand are going to be left on the Earth when all who are righteous are plucked from the ground and all who are wicked will perish and die. This is the best religion on the Earth today. We are gaining influence around the world, even in our nation's capital.

If you looked into it, you would see that Joseph wasn't even at this marriages. Many women got sealed to Joseph because they thought it would get them to heaven. I little misguided, I admit, and not a doctrine of the church.

How about you just let us live whatever religion we want and leave us alone? Trying to get us to change our minds in this way isn't going to work. And frankly, I find it a bit silly that you keep trying.

He read the story of King Herod and his wife Herodias.

How could anyone purport to be a prophet of the God of Abraham (a polygamist), and Issac (a polygamist) and Jacob (a polygamist) and be a polygamist!

That's horrible, huh!

Because he wanted to have sex with them. It is the same with all cults through history, branch davidians, strong city. The strong city cult leader told his own son God commanded him to have sex with his wife.
