Question:
is Bible a scam?
2014-12-26 07:34:02 UTC
People follow the Bible and everything, but what are the chances? Either someone from the time of Christ, wrote it, and years and years later someone found it, or some random person wrote the Bible, even though they werent around the time of christ, so theres really no way to tell if the Bibles legit. I think its a total scam. Does anyone else think it is?

The Bible is fraud it has copied off other religion like Pagan Trinity which is originally from Pagan ancient Egyptian mythology Greek mythology all copied by Bible.

You misunderstand what the Bible is. To summarize:

- 60+ separate ancient documents

- - those documents originally authored in 3 different ancient languages

- those documents translated into a single language

- the translated documents bound together

So:

1 - Either someone from the time of Christ, wrote it

No, because the Bible consists of several documents. Most of those documents date to before the time of Jesus, and copies of those documents radiometrically dating to before the time of Jesus are available! Even if we accept the most restrictive (smallest) range proposed by scholars, the documents of the Bible were authored over a period of several centuries (600 B.C.E. to 100 C.E.)

2 - and years and years later someone found it

Not accurate. Here is a table that summarizes the history of the formation of the Bible:

http://www.bible-reviews.com/charts_timeline_wbc.html

3 - or some random person wrote the Bible

Not so, as described above. At least 40 different authors were involved in authoring the 60+ Biblical documents.

4 - The Bible is fraud it has copied off other religion like Pagan Trinity which is originally from Pagan ancient Egyptian mythology Greek mythology all copied by Bible.

Not so. If you read an account of the history of the religious doctrine of trinity from a **reputable scholar**, you will discover that the earliest known religious concept of trinity dates to the Christian era. Scholars are careful to use a different term to describe non-trinity religious concepts that involve three supernatural beings. Most common is the term "triple deity", and probably that - and not trinity! - is the Egyptian religious concept to which you refer.

Finally: you shouldn't believe the disreputable claims of random religious web sites, some of which are included in your links!
2014-12-26 13:33:47 UTC
No the bible is NOT a scam, you have asked the question about the Trinity a numbero f times so here is the answer once more !

True Christians do NOT teach the Trinity!

For many thousands of years Gods own people did not worship a Trinity, in fact they taught the following,.....”hear, O Israel: Jehovah our God is one Jehovah:” Deuteronomy 6:4 NAV

The Jews were very different from the surrounding nations who DID worship a triad of Gods, such as the Babylonians and the Egyptians who were well know for it, however Gods people were different as they were monotheistic and were not influenced by the pagans triad worshipping. This is one of the reason why Israel were warned about affiliating with the surrounding nations, so that they did not end up worshipping their false Gods!

Jesus backed up that belief when in prayer to his heavenly father said,...”"This is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ. John 17: 3. Notice how he calls his father the ONLY TRUE GOD!

The first century Christians taught the same when they preached for example 1 Cor 15: 24-28 where we see in Vs 24 that Jesus has a GOD AND FATHER and that in Vs 28 he SUBJECTS himself to his God & Father!

Unfortunately the Christian congregation by the forth century had given in to the surrounding nations triad form of worship, this was the great Apostasy that Paul had foretold would set in after he was gone, and the Trinity doctrine was then born there in Constantinople in the 4th century. This was contrary to what the first century Christians taught !

The New Catholic Encyclopedia states: “The formulation ‘one God in three Persons’ was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the 4th century. But it is precisely this formulation that has first claim to the title the Trinitarian dogma. Among the Apostolic Fathers, there had been nothing even remotely approaching such a mentality or perspective.”—(1967), Vol. XIV, p. 299.

The New Encyclopædia Britannica says: “Neither the word Trinity, nor the explicit doctrine as such, appears in the New Testament, nor did Jesus and his followers intend to contradict the Shema in the Old Testament: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord’ (Deut. 6:4). . . . The doctrine developed gradually over several centuries and through many controversies. . . . By the end of the 4th century . . . the doctrine of the Trinity took substantially the form it has maintained ever since.”—(1976), Micropædia, Vol. X, p. 126.

You made a huge statement that you know very little about.

Archeologists and forensic anthropologists are finding that the bible, especially the old testament to be the best accurate account of early mankind. There were cities like Sodom and Gamora didn't seem to exist. Not all that long ago they were found. They were blasted by a commet or some sort of automic blast. God sent a chosen few in to the safety of caves and told not to look back, Lot's wife chose to look back and she turned

into a pillar of Salt or or whatever exploded in the natural disaster,

Time after time the bible is the best ancient historical book for historians, archeologist, etc go to for factual information.

If you leave out the Biblical part, and look at the historical part, it is spot on.

Every once in awhile more historical writings are being found that give more merit to the books gathered in the bible.

Think about this all before you actually use the word "Scam"

That is a good question. Many people have wondered this before. Here are some reasons why the bible could not be a scam. I hope they help you out.

1. No one has ever successfully challenged the historical accuracy of the Bible.

2. The Bible writers were honest men who wrote with openness of heart. Their candor gives their writing the clear ring of truth.

3. The Bible has one central theme: the vindication of God’s right to rule mankind and the fulfillment of his purpose by means of his heavenly Kingdom.

4. Although written thousands of years ago, the Bible is free of mistaken scientific ideas that had gained wide acceptance in ancient times.

5. Documented historical evidence proves that Bible prophecies, or predictions, have come true.

You have no clue in the authors of the books in the bible. Moses wrote the first 5 books from his own personal experiences, and what God inspired him to write through sending the Holy Spirit, God's spirit, to Moses so he would write down the beginning of life, creation. All the books were written over a period of about 2600 yrs. Moses as the first author since he wrote about creation. And the disciple John, the youngest and one that Jesus found favor it due to his faith, wrote 2 books (John 1 & 2) and then the book of Revelation, the end of our world and our final demise and judgment. John wrote after Jesus died and rose and then ascended back to Heaven. He wrote what he witnessed, did, said, and for the book of Revelation, what he was inspired to write by God's inspiration in him thru the Holy Spirit. That's why all the authors are said to have been inspired by the Holy Spirit, God wanted specific things to be written down for all future generations to know. That's why the Bible is called God's word.

If you take God out of the bible, you are left with a history book. We know the Pharoah was real, King Herod was real, King Saul was real, and David became king, that kingdoms and lands were real and many still have the same name today. Like Jerusalem, Turkey, Israel, Jordan River, etc. and events like certain wars. So the bible is a true factual book. You just don't like the God part of it, I presume. To each their own then.

My discovery of the clean and unclean food and hygiene laws established over 3500 years ago in the Book of Leviticus being based all this time on the God Yahweh's working knowledge of the germ theory of disease and the modern human body now makes this Book of The Bible far from being a man made scam.

The Bible is not a scam or fake. In knowing the approximate dates it was written (1000's of years) and the accuracy of the present copies with the very oldest manuscripts make it real. And when prophecy is considered it makes it authentic.

The Bible as we have it is a collection of 70+ books.

The oldest were written down 5000 years ago, by Moses.

The latest we written down nearly 2000 years ago.

Many similar books were written, but excluded by the church.

They were ruled as unreliable & heretical.

The final collection was decided at the Council of Trent.

Martin Luther objected to several of those books.

His supporters left the church & became Protestants.

The direct answer is NO, the Bible is not a scam. Many responses here look at the Bible as a book composed by men. But God has a purpose for mankind, and the Bible reveals it. Although humans wrote, or perhaps more accurately, penned, the Bible, the wisdom and supernatural elements in it show it to be a book of a God of prophecy, and accuracy.

The things that we need to know to learn about our Creator are there. The very first sentence in it is a challenge for material minded people to accept, and from that point on, God's word becomes a new revelation for those who are unfamiliar with faith.

Most of the questions that dispute the veracity of the Bible have already been answered satisfactorily and logically. It is mostly a matter of context - in terms of time and culture, or in terms of where a set of verses are in textual context. There are also the different translations, but there are enough early manuscripts available to compare and see what the real message is.

If people obeyed the Bible as it is written, the very best of humankind will be manifest in them.

That all depends on how you define the word scam. When people believed the world was flat were they "scammed?" Albeit no one asked for money from believers of a flat earth, but the fact remains that the belief was not consistent with truth or reality.

The Bible is not one single book, but a compilation of many Jewish and Christian Scriptures and writings. No one single person wrote it, but if you have doubts, just know that Christianity existed for 300 years before the Bible as we know it existed. Their faith was based on the teachings of the Apostles and the Holy Spirit. If Jesus didn't rise from the dead, then why would the Twelve Apostles sacrifice their lives to spread the message that he did? Also, the Apostle Paul wrote a good chunk of the New Testament. He went from being a vicious persecutor of Christians to one of the most important evangelizers after he saw a vision of the risen Christ. You can read about his conversion and experiences in his writings. Hope this helps! :)

No, the bible, any version of it, is a compilation of earlier versions of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern views on faith, gods, and society.

How much of it was intended to be taken as literal and how much as illustrative or parables is unknown.

But the stories themselves are not fraudulent. People may well attempt to use the points made, history indicated, morals related, etc, for their own purposes, benign or not.

People back then weren't that smart. Apart from Romans. The point is it was written in Hebrew and very few people today speak it. while it didn't matter back then in the uneducated times. Also, how do you get 32% of the world to believe fiction, starting with Europe?

The Bible is like a treasure. You can use it for the purpose of good or evil. It is like our life. We can use it wickedly or righteously. Everything can work both ways. The Scriptures serve as message of God's intention and what He has already done. The other half of the story is in our hands. The evil one is working very hard to mess everything up because he hates God and us. It is not really very hard to filter or sense the difference between the original intention of God from the bits of poison of Satan in the Scriptures. The problem is when you do not read it.

MAKE NO MISTAKE OR TRY TO OUT DO WHAT THE LORD OUR GOD HAS WRITTEN. THE BIBLE IS GODS WORD AND THE WORD BECAME FLESH IN THE FORM OF JESUS CHRIST! GOD ALSO SAYS IN THE BIBLE

For I testify to every one that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book: If any man shall add to these things, God shall add unto him the plagues written in this book. [19] And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from these things that are written in this book!

So read it faithfully and try to live the Holy Life in love and obedience to God's word, The Holy Bible.

Happy Purple Elephants!
2014-12-28 00:40:11 UTC
Absolutely! The bible is a scam in so many ways- the biggest hoax in the history of the planet! Satan created today's bible because he is 'the great deceiver' and he and God are battling for your soul! Satan has threatened to take as many souls with him into hell... what better way than mass manipulation? millions of people now and in the past have believed every word the bible says BUT most have never questioned it- they have been lied to, brainwashed for lack of a better term into believing for face-value...

Thou shalt have no other God before me...

Thou shalt make no graven images of any likeness on heaven and earth...

Jesus... and Jesus on the crucifix would be SIN...

"Why do you call me good? no one is good except for God in heaven" ~Jesus KJV

"Do not think that I have come to change the law I have come to fulfill..." ~Jesus KJV (not verbatim)

"another comes bringing the truth..." ~Jesus KJV

the manipulation began when King James decided to take a bunch of 'memoirs' and call them 'books/chapters' and combine them into a 'story' he then developed the council of Nicaea a group of literary 'scholars' of Cuine Greek and old Hebrew and Aramaic and have the 'translate' the 'memoirs' into 'new English' (old English today) and told the council to REMOVE anything repetitive and irrelevant (these are the lost books and dead sea scrolls) When they had done that he told them to appease everyone- Jews, Pagans, Catholics and the so-called medevil Christians, by combining stories (Horus became Jesus, the sabbath became SUN-day to worship horus' mother Ra, the pagan sun God, etc.)

After they completed the new 'fairy tale' (Satan was in control the entire time btw! Using KJ) King James ordered them to be compiled into what is called a 'biblios' in Latin (means book) Bible literally translates into BOOK... just a book...

And now, thousands of years later, Satan has control of more souls on earth than ever before AND will bring them all to hell! Sorry Christians, but you are unknowingly and unwillingly worshiping a work of Satan BUT our God is forgiving and you CAN seek repentance and turn away from such manipulative evil! Deny Satan and turn to righteousness...

Claiming God has a 'child' is a way of saying that the creator needed to be in the creation- WHY WOULD HE? When Jesus walked the earth- HE never claimed divinity- not even once!

He did NOT change the law of God given to Moses- he only came to essentially 'enforce the law'...

If he had actually died on the cross then WHY did he hide dressed as a gardener? Why did he ask for food and drink in the upper room? Do 'spirits' fear men and hide? Do ghosts feel hungry or thirsty?

I can not and will not say the ENTIRE bible is wrong- there ARE some good lessons and a lot of truth I admit... but I wil forever believe the bible- BOOK to be a hoax intended to bring humans to hell and fulfill Satan's goals to win the battle of the war on your souls...

I know...I know.. lots of hate coming my way(from Christians, no doubt!)- not new..I forgive you so that God will forgive you too... :-P

Written over 1,600 years (40 generations) by 40 authors,

from every walk of life,

including kings, peasants, philosophers, fishermen, poets, statesmen and scholars.

Moses, a political leader, trained in the universities of Egypt

Peter, a fisherman

Amos, a herdsman

Joshua, a military general

Nehemiah, a cupbearer

Daniel, a prime minister

Luke, a doctor

Solomon, a king

Matthew, a tax-collector

Paul, a rabbi

Written in different places:

Moses in the wilderness

Jeremiah in a dungeon

Daniel on a hillside and in a palace

Paul inside prison walls

Luke while traveling

John on the isle of Patmos

Others in the rigors of a military campaign

Written at different times:

David in times of war

Solomon in times of peace

Written during different moods:

Some writing from the heights of joy and others writing from the depths of sorrow and despair

Written on three continents:

Asia, Africa and Europe

Written in three languages:

Hebrew: Was the language of the Old Testament.

In II Kings 18:26-28 called "the language of Judah".

In Isaiah 19:18 called "the language of Canaan".

Aramaic: Was the "common language" of the Near East until the time of Alexander the Great (6th century BC - 4th century BC)

Greek: New Testament language. Was the international language at the time of Christ.

The original writings were scattered all over the Middle East and the Mediterranean.

Just the fact that they came together and have been transported through time is evident of its supernatural origins. It is also the fulfillment of this prophesy about itself:

The Flying Scroll

5 I looked again, and there before me was a flying scroll.

2 He asked me, “What do you see?”

I answered, “I see a flying scroll, twenty cubits long and ten cubits wide.[a]”

3 And he said to me, “This is the curse that is going out over the whole land; for according to what it says on one side, every thief will be banished, and according to what it says on the other, everyone who swears falsely will be banished. 4 The LORD Almighty declares, ‘I will send it out, and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of anyone who swears falsely by my name. It will remain in that house and destroy it completely, both its timbers and its stones.’”

The Romans (over almost a hundred years of debate – debated at the Nicene council what was inspired by God) closed the cannon.

Did you know that Satan is the root of all Scriptural misinterpretation... (the source of all false teachings and doctrines)? When Scripture is taken out of context (when Satan plants thoughts in the minds of JW's / RC's / Mormons / unbelievers / and other cults) its original meaning changes. then Scripture can be used to justify ungodly acts such as: gender abuses, slavery, colonialism, persecution of non-Christians; stripping God of His divinity... and so on.

Christians, however, have the mind of Christ, and are therefore not susceptible to deception (John 16:13) "But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.

We are commanded to convey the message of the Gospel and not the weaknesses of humanity.

Now, let's look at the Bible (the Word):

QUOTE : The Scriptures in the original languages of Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, both Old and New Testaments, are the plenary, verbally inspired Word of God. “Plenary” means that the entirety of Scripture is equally and fully revealed and inspired by God. “Verbal” refers to the principle of inerrancy, that inspiration extends to each and every word. Inspiration means “God-breathed” (2 Timothy 3:16) and means that the Bible is God’s complete and connected thought to mankind (2 Peter 1:20–21; 2 Timothy 3:16–17; Matthew 5:18; John 16:12–13).

God the Holy Spirit so supernaturally directed the human writers of scripture, that without waiving their human intelligence, vocabulary, individuality, literary style, personality, personal feelings, or any other human factor, His complete and coherent message to mankind was recorded with perfect accuracy in the original languages of Scripture, the very words bearing the authority of divine authorship. Therefore the Bible is the final authority in all matters about which it speaks. Further, we believe the Bible is to be interpreted in a normal and literal way consistent with the historical, grammatical principle of hermeneutics under the filling of God the Holy Spirit (John 10:35; Matthew 5:18; 1 Corinthians 2:14-16). UNQUOTE

The collection of 66 books were properly recognized by the early church as the complete authoritative scriptures not to be added to or subtracted from.

HOW DO WE KNOW THE BIBLE IS COMPLETELY TRUE?

BECAUSE IT TELLS THE TRUTH!

No of course it's not. Besides, you write as if the Bible were written by only one person whereas in actual fact, even though the theme of the whole Bible is in total unity and harmony, it was actually written or a better word is "penned" by many many different people although it was only authored by ONE and that was Holy Spirit - He inspired the writing of every word of the Bible, but even the Psalms were penned by more than one person. There are no contradictions in there - it's just that you do not understand the Bible because it can only be understood by born again Spiritual Christians, it cannot be understood by the fleshly, carnal, natural mind. It takes the Holy Spirit to interpret the Bible, so don't write it off as fraud my friend; go to God humbly and ask Him to show you - He will if you are genuine about it..

Your analysis is more flawed than your syntax.

The original writings were not 'found years later'; there was continuity throughout. (No matter how much you offer other people's thoughts in your links)

Minds such as Newton,Kepler, Boyle, Darwin(all Christians) viewed the Bible as authentic) yet you dismiss it so glibly! Vanity, little one

No, the Bible is not a scam.

You are looking to discredit God instead of looking for the truth.

The Holy Bible is a collection of writings taken from different times and compiled together.

In the Tanakh/Old Testament, there are the writings from before Jesus. In the New Testament, there are the writings after Jesus' death.

The writings of the Tanakh/Old Testament tell of God, physical Israel, the coming Messiah, and prophecies.

The writings of the New Testament tell of the life of Jesus, John the Baptizer, the Acts of the Apostles, letters of Paul, Peter, and James, and the Book of Revelation of Jesus Christ.

Why is the Bible still around? Is there proof of God? Is the Bible valid? All these are great questions that deserve valid and true answers.

The proof of God is in the Bible. Through fulfilled prophecies and the Jewish people, proof of God is given. Many prophecies have been fulfilled and a few more will be fulfilled as Christ comes back to reign for His 1000 year reign. Ask yourself, "Do Jews exist in the world today?" You know the answer is "Yes".

Then ask yourself, "Why are the Jews called 'Jews'? The answer everyone refers to is that the people have descended from the tribe of Judah. There is no other answer. Everyone gets the answer from the Bible for it is what everyone knows as the truth.

Many Bible prophecies have come true. Remember, the Jews Holy writings are in the Tanakh. The Tanakh was written hundreds of years BEFORE Jesus Christ's birth. The prophecies were fulfilled perfectly by the birth of Jesus. God has used the prophecies to show us today that His writings have power to tell in advance what will happen for God knows the end from the beginning.

Are there any prophecies given in the Tanakh that have been fulfilled in modern times?

The answer is "Yes".

Have you heard of the Isaiah 9:10 prophecy fulfilled by politicians Tom Daschel, John Edwards, and Barack Obama? The book "The Harbinger" or the DVD "The Isaiah 9:10 Prophecy" has the information regarding this. I recommend the DVD since you can watch the videos of the prophecy being fulfilled. This prophecy being fulfilled shows that the USA can look forward to God's discipline/punishment via its enemies. Many believe that Ephraim represents the USA.

Isaiah 9:9 All the people will know it— Ephraim and the inhabitants of Samaria—who say with pride and arrogance of heart,

Isaiah 9:10 “The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with dressed stone;the fig trees have been felled, but we will replace them with cedars.”

Isaiah 9:11 But the LORD has strengthened Rezin’s foes against them and has spurred their enemies on. NIV

Other prophecies fulfilled concerning Jesus were fulfilled perfectly.

King David descended from the tribe of Judah. The Messiah is to be a descendant of the tribe of Judah. The Messiah was to be born in Bethlehem. The Messiah was to be born of a virgin. The Messiah was to have his clothing go to those who cast lots for them. All of this was fulfilled by Jesus. No one else has fulfilled the prophecy of the Tanakh. These prophecies were given hundreds of years before the coming of Jesus. And they all happened!

The Bible foreshadowed Jesus in many ways:

The Bible ACCURATELY foreshadows Jesus in the following ways:

The Passover lamb died on the 14th of Nisan. Its' blood was placed on the door frames of the Israelites homes to protect the Israelites from the angel of death and the plague of the first born males. Those that had faith that the blood of the lamb would save them (the Israelites) were protected from physical death. The Egyptians, who did not have faith in the blood, died. No bones were to be broken on the Passover lamb.

Jesus, the true Passover Lamb, died on the 14th of Nisan. Those who have faith in the blood of Jesus to save them will be spared spiritual death. Those who do not believe will suffer eternal torment in the lake of fire. No bones were broken on Jesus.

Many other prophecies/foreshadowings occurred. Jesus is the truth.

John 3:14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,

John 3:15 that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

John 3:18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. NIV

Take a fresh look at the Bible searching for the truth.

God Bless

"Either someone from the time of Christ, wrote it, and years and years later someone found it, or some random person wrote the Bible, even though they werent around the time of christ, so theres really no way to tell if the Bibles legit."

In this statement alone, it clearly reveals you are ignorant of the origin of the Bible.

Thus you have no ground on which to attack the Bible.

Your complete and total ignorance of the history of the books of the Bible is unbelievable. Your links mean nothing. They are just as ignorant as you are. Not only that, but your comments make no logical sense. YOU don't even have a clue as to who wrote the books in the Bible or when they were written and your conclusions are the same old male bovine dung spouted by those whose knowledge of the Bible is just as ignorant as yours.

You asking a question, or are you harden in your heart against the facts of life?

I asked you this because it sounds like you have made-up in your mind that you are certain.

No one was here when the earth nor the heaven was formed, not even scientist, so why take anyone's word for misconceptions on something no one is certain about?

There were Three before the beginning of time, as the Bible says/states, and no one can challenge God to prove other wise. There is God the Father, Jesus Christ His Son and The Holy Spirit/Ghost. Genesis 1:26 tell us how we were created and by Whom we were created. The natural mind can not conceive this. It takes the power of the Holy Spiriti to guide you/me/us into truth and understanding. Our mind is finite, but God is infinite and cannot be comprehended by no one except they invite the Lord into their hearts to reveal Himself to them.. How else would anyone that have existed or will exist, exist? Colossians 1:16-19 says that everything exist and consist because of God being the Creator of all things and people. It makes sense to me. I know something does not come out of nothing to have an existence. Humans are limited, at best!

Psalm 24:1 says, "The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof. Nothing exist without God calling it into motion.

He send the sunshine, the rain, harvest/grain and seasons (who cause germination?). No man can do that. He gave the boundaries of the oceans and seas to stay in their place. Only when God tells it to leave, does it over flow from it's cradle. No human made or gives air, nor produce gravity. All nature tellsof an Awesome God that exist without us seeing but believing. Why is the Bible so reviled? Why is it so hard for humans to understand that Somebody bigger than you and I is over this whole earth? We believe the books we learned in school, and that was not written in the front of us, or before us, yet you believe and learned from them.

God's Word is irreversible, irrerrant, an the infallible written Word of Truth from God to mankind (2 Timothy 3:15-17 & 2 Peter 1:20.21. It is an Instruction Book on how to live this life in righteousness in the spiritual relm, so that you can have a good, long life here. Then, when we leave here, and have accepted the Lord in our hearts before we go, we can transition out of life here on earth to live with Him for all eternity (Corinthianians 15)

Everything goes in nature as God says it will, except for the very ones He created in His image, "Humans"!

The bible is written in symbol and only those who persevere through affliction, trial and tribulation have the capacity to understand what the bible means and even though their ability to understand the bible is condition based on their obedience and if God created all things, then He also has the ability to write a bible and make sure that the bible reaches the people who read it in it's full measure / fashion.

Christianity is declining, it's not in total declining because people in Africa and third world countries with third world thinking accept this religion without reading this man-made Bible.

This is why in Europe and USA everyday Christian became Atheist, Apathetic, Secular, and some revert to Islam.

The way I see it, if you want to be Christian, do not read your Bible. Because if you done your homework, you'll find another religion or you'll ended up gave up on faith and be Atheist.

For me Bible should be assumed as " King of Contradictions "

In answering this question the first thing I see the bias of the person who asked it. As with any book the Bible can say or show anything you want it to say, just by using part of this verse or the whole verse without the verse before or after to show the full meaning. When I was an agnostic I could argue life without God, doing it all by myself but that was a lie for God is always there.

The scam is being perpetrated by nonBelievers who want others to believe as they, unknowingly following the father of all lies Lucifer.

The Bible is a true book. It is the story of God and his people. When God created the earth, he made people (Adam and Eve) He told them not to eat the fruit from one tree in the garden. However, the devil tempted them and they ate it and sinned. God is a loving God though. He promised that one day, he would send his son (Jesus) into the world to die for us. Jesus didn't have to die for us, but he wanted to. Why? Because he loves us so much. He wanted to give us the chance to go to heaven after we die. If we believe in him, we have eternal life in heaven.

The Bible has records of the oldest time, would they really lie about that? It's a written record, one of the most useful evidences in all of history. There are also thousands of other records stating the same thing. Christianity is the largest religion, taking up 1/3 of the world's population, and is also one of the oldest. If it's still here today, being a part of so many people's lives, after all of this time, would be really be false?

I believe that as humans we imagine and dream of things to make us feel better about what comes "after". As humans we are afraid of the unknown, of things we can't ever begin to understand and religion is just a way we cope with not knowing, it gives us something to believe in. If there is an afterlife then so be it, If there isn't, then you won't exist anymore to care anyway:) I don't believe there is a higher power, but you may, just don't spout your belief to the next person. It's like saying how your farts are louder then everyone elses... that's personal and you should keep it to yourself.

The bible itself aint

(no book on its own can be a scam)

But the religions that peddle it as the only way to "salvation" are a scam

(they are doing what a lot of "politicians" do

They instill fear (in the case of religion - the fear of death, the devil, hell, the afterlife)

Then they peddle the means of "salvation" from this "fear" (i.e follow their religion)

(in the case of politicians they instill a fear of "terrorism" and then peddle the "patriot act" as the means of "salvation"

The name itself "patriot act" is blatant propaganda in that it implies anybody against it aint a patriot)

"So the bible is a true factual book"

This is the myth that many religious followers peddle

That is- cos it contains some facts and some real people then the book must be "factual" in its entirety

Anyone with an IQ above 70 should see this is bullsh//t

There are LOADS of books that do exactly the same

They weave a fictional story around real events and people

Its called "faction"

You think the film "titanic" is 100% fact

Well I got news for you - its isnt

It is a fact that the titanic existed, hit an iceberg, sank, and load of people were killed

But the story Jack dawson + rose- 100% fiction

So, are you asking this question because you are truly curious or are you just looking to piss in somebodies face?

The bible is a collection of historical accountings that can be corroborated by outside sources (Thank you for the lists) who most likely have different view points (i.e. American Revolution of 1776 vs. British Rebellion of 1776).

I personally believe the God in the old testament is not the same God found in the new testament.

Not a scam. It was basically a guide for life. Much of it was used to protect health, such as dietary laws. A lot of people died from eating tainted pork. What better way to get people to stop eating pork than to tell them that their god doesn't want them to? Same thing with shellfish; refrigeration was non-existent and spoiled shellfish is dangerous.

Also, the strength of any group is often a function of size. The more people in your tribe, the more power your drive has, so you encourage your members to get other people to join your tribe, or force them to join it, and you also encourage enslavement or the killing of people who are unwilling to join (it's in the bible).

So it isn't so much a scam as a guidebook to grow in strength, and protect ignorant people. The problem is, over time, people forget the intent and simply follow the rules blindly.

Negative, the Bible is NOT a Scam, to state that it is is the mind of low brow conspiracy idiots and we know how unreliable their credibility is, That the Bible originated in the mind of God makes it not only unique among all books, it is unique among all the treasures on earth. President Abraham Lincoln appropriately referred to the Bible as “the best gift God has given to man.” Indeed it is. It reveals God’s eternal plan of redeeming the fallen human race. Yet even though billions of copies of it have been distributed throughout the world, many continue to question its truth. Is the Bible a book of mythology, or is it the true, inspired Word of God? This question is of the greatest importance to every person, whether they know it or not.

Many religious texts claim to convey a divine message. The Bible, however, stands alone in that God left absolutely no room for doubt as to whether or not this is His written Word. If anyone undertakes an honest effort to examine the facts, he will find the Bible most assuredly has God’s signature all through it. The very same mouth that spoke all of creation into existence also gave us the Bible.

Unlike scams, the Bible has a historical framework. Its characters are real people living in verifiable locations during historical events. The Bible mentions Nebuchadnezzar, Sennacherib, Cyrus, Herod, Felix, Pilate, and many other historical figures. Its history coincides with that of many nations, including the Egyptian, Hittite, Persian, Babylonian, and Roman empires. The events of the Bible take place in geographical areas such as Canaan, Syria, Egypt, Mesopotamia, and others. All this certifiable detail refutes the idea that the Bible is mere mythology.

Unlike scams, the Bible has many confirmations in sciences such as biology, geology, astronomy, and archaeology. The field of biblical archaeology has absolutely exploded in the last century and a half, during which time hundreds of thousands of artifacts have been discovered. Just one example: at one time, skeptics used the Bible’s references to the Hittite civilization as “proof” that the Bible was a myth. There was never any such people as the “Hittites,” according to the science of the day. However, in 1876, the first of a series of discoveries was made, and now the existence of the ancient Hittite civilization is well documented. Archaeology continues to bolster the Bible’s historicity. As Dr. Henry M. Morris has remarked, “There exists today not one unquestionable find of archaeology that proves the Bible to be in error at any point.”

Unlike scams, the Bible is written as history. Luke wrote his Gospel as “an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us . . . just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses.” Luke claims that he had “carefully investigated everything from the beginning” and so wrote “an orderly account . . . so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught” (see Luke 1:1-4). Did Luke include miracles in his account? Yes, many of them. But they were miracles verified by eyewitnesses. Two thousand years later, a skeptic might call Luke’s account a “myth,” but the burden of proof rests with the skeptic. The account itself is a carefully investigated historical document.

Unlike scams, the Bible contains an astounding number of fulfilled prophecies. Myths do not bother with prophecy, but fully one third of the Bible is prophecy. The Bible contains over 1,800 predictions concerning more than 700 separate subjects found in over 8,300 verses. The Old Testament contains more than 300 prophecies concerning Jesus Christ alone, many with amazing specificity. Numerous prophecies have already been fulfilled, and they have come to pass precisely as foretold. The mathematical odds of someone making this number of predictions and having every one of them come to pass are light-years beyond the realm of human possibility. These miraculous prophecies could only be accomplished with the supernatural guidance of Him who sees the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:9-10).

Unlike scams, the Bible has transformed a countless number of lives. Yet many people allow the views of others—who have never seriously studied the Bible—to shape their own opinions. Each of us needs study it for ourselves. Put it to the test. Live by the Bible’s precepts and experience for yourself the dynamic and transforming power of this amazing Book. Apply its teachings on forgiveness and see how it can mend a broken relationship. Apply its principles of stewardship and watch your financial situation improve. Apply its teaching on faith and feel a calming presence in your heart even as you navigate through a difficult trial in your life. The Bible works. There is a reason Christians in various countries around the world risk their lives daily to expose others to the life-giving truth of this remarkable Book.

Ultimately, many who reject God and His revealed Word do so because of pride. They are so invested in their personal beliefs that they refuse to honestly weigh the evidence. To accept the Bible as true would require them to think seriously about God and their responsibility to Him. To accept the Bible as true might require a change of lifestyle. As Erwin Lutzer stated, “The truth is, few people have an open mind, especially about matters of religion. . . . Thus, perverted doctrines and prejudices are easily perpetuated from one generation to another.”

Millions die every year having bet their eternal souls that the Bible is not true, hoping against hope that it is nothing but a book of mythology, and that God does not exist. It is a risky gamble, and the stakes are very high. We urge everyone to read the Bible with an open mind; let it speak for itself, and may you find that God’s Word is truth (John 17:17).

The Bible is not a scam. It is a collection of 66 different books which have been collected into a single book we know as "The Bible." The 66 books were written over a period of some 1500 years, by 40 different scribes (writers). Each one of the books carries the same consistent themes, and they collectively use historical facts, poetry, prophecy, and eye-witness testimony relating to God's plan. The story-line it holds to is the story of a singular bloodline from Adam, to Jesus Christ, and His followers.
