Or is that just a myth? You would think that if anyone would be able to levitate, there would be solid evidence of it.

In Hinduism miracles are not given any importance. What is important is the way of spirituality. It the best of all shown by Indian saints. The thoughts and thought process during the passage of travel in spirituality is best explained by them. Levitation of spiritual experiences is done by all. All saints gave a programme to lift up the ones self and achieve the renunciation with that supreme power.

First and foremost they said is,

“Sarve amritasya putrah”

We are all the children of God… a Vedic Quote.

So every person is liable to get close to God. Every person is a part or aansh of the God,

“Aham Brahmasmi”

I am God (indicating God lives inside humans)

They repeated these eternal thoughts from Vedas in simple language, like

“Satyam bruyat priyam bruyat na bruyat satyam apriyam

priyam cha nanrutam bruyat esha dharmah sanatanah”

Only speak the truth that is pleasant to others

Do no speak the truth that might be unpleasant to others

Never speak untruth that is pleasant to others

This is the path of the eternal morality called Sanatana Dharma

They asked the common man/woman to be honest,

“Satyam Vadha Dharmam Chara”

Speak the truth, follow the righteous path

Take one example of Saint Kanhopatra a Lady saint, she said in one poem,

"If you call yourself the Lord of the fallen,

why do O Lord not lift me up?

When I say I am yours alone,

who is to blame but yourself

if I am taken by another man.

When a jackal takes the share of the lion,

it is the great, who is put to shame.

Kanhopatra says, I offer my body at your feet,

protect it, at least for your title."

In short Levitation of the soul was and is common from Gurus in India, which is not a myth. No need of evidence, you have to follow the pure and simple path they are showing. The recitation of sweet name of God is said by all to do this, which is called "Namasmarana".

Your question looks like "are colleges able to get you the job?" You should know the answer for it. Any college can give you the best education which is the tool to get the job. But finally you have to get job on your own. Which job you get depends on your ability.

In same way gurus (saints) will guide you to move up in the spiritual path as per sanatana dharma (Hinduism). But it completely depends on you. Bcoz the bhagavan (GOD) will not consider influence of any one (But you may get job in some places if you have influence) :-).

Answer for your question is yes, there are some gurus in India who can guide you in spiritual path.

If you are seeing any spiritual thoughts in this world, that is only in Hinduism. We should be proud of it.

Unlike other religions Hinduism is not busy in increasing numbers (by conversion and other methods). Other few religions are doing just politics.

I respect all religions but it will not stop me from saying truth.

Hope this will clear your doubt. Thanks.

Probably, all evil have the ability to do so. Was dating a woman, which, I found out later, was a satanic worshiper, that with candles, a robe, and at certain "special" times, was able to levitate her daughter

Lol, no. But they're able to trick you into buying stupid spiritual crap that doesn't work... If people could levitate, wouldn't they have more coverage on the news and TONS of youtube videos??

Hatha Yogi's attain such powers to lighten the body or make it heavier, etc and not all yogi's are hatha yogi's.

But the spiritual Guru's in general would advise their disciples against such wishes to exhibit extraordinary powers or Siddhi's, because that would lead to inflated ego, pride in popularity and craving for riches, thus weaning one from the desire for spiritual progress and push to more delusion.

But realized saints / Siddha's etc (who had not practiced Hatha yoga) could also do extra ordinary things like foregoing food without any loss of energy for days together, cure one's severe illness, solve problems, etc for deserving ones, out of compassion, without any desire for publicity. Late Paramacharya of Kanchi, St Ramana, St Ramakrishna Param hamsa etc and even Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the octogenarian living legend of our times, do such miracles to help, guide, save people. The difference is the saints exercising the powers are driven by compassion rather than for publicity or money.

Entering the very presence of the noble souls also makes a lot of salutary changes in people, including physical health, mental peace, spiritual thirst etc.

Hatha yogi's are rare in towns and cities. They may be in some hill caves practicing the rigorous stipulations to attain such powers.

Don't you see the Karathe practitioners breaking bricks or pulling a multi tonne lorry tied to his hair lock etc. So even secular methods of control of breath and mind could do what look like near miracles, but the occult practitioners use multiple techniques to exercise control on self and also matter around. It is thus, not a spiritual discipline strictly.

Nope, they can't

Ive been there ^_^

the whole levitation thing is a physical representation of spiritual elevation- an idea meaning you become closer to God through meditation. When you meditate, to a certain degree you do feel lighter (idk why, maybe more o2 to the head?).

Hope that answers your q!
