Question:
Christians...How do you honestly feel about Halloween?
Bible Truth

Considering it comes from purely pagan origins and totally opposes clear Bible teachings.

If you love God why do you take part in something He hates?

(2 Corinthians 6:14-18) "Do not become unevenly yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship do righteousness and lawlessness have? Or what sharing does light have with darkness? 15 Further, what harmony is there between Christ and Be′li‧al? Or what portion does a faithful person have with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement does God’s temple have with idols? For we are a temple of a living God; just as God said: “I shall reside among them and walk among [them], and I shall be their God, and they will be my people.” 17 “‘Therefore get out from among them, and separate yourselves,’ says Jehovah, ‘and quit touching the unclean thing’”; “‘and I will take YOU in.’” 18 “‘And I shall be a father to YOU, and YOU will be sons and daughters to me,’ says Jehovah the Almighty.”

(Deuteronomy 18:10-13)"There should not be found in you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, anyone who employs divination, a practicer of magic or anyone who looks for omens or a sorcerer, 11 or one who binds others with a spell or anyone who consults a spirit medium or a professional foreteller of events or anyone who inquires of the dead. 12 For everybody doing these things is something detestable to Jehovah, and on account of these detestable things Jehovah your God is driving them away from before you. 13 You should prove yourself faultless with Jehovah your God."

Coat arsenic with Chocolate it will taste good but it will still kill you, so you can give all your so called logic does not change the fact that it is demons, witches, ghost, werewolves, goblins, & demonic pranks that make up Oct 31, the day man celebrates Halloween. This day through out history have had humans & animals killed in sacrifices to the Devil, the god of the underworld.

2 Tim 4:3-4 explains the people of today & their views on Halloween when it says ) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories.

In a world where a PG-13 movie can have cuss words that would of made my grandmother ears burn & face turn red 2 Tim 3:1-5 is a common reality when it says ) ) But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away.

By the answers of those that have had their senses dulled Halloween is just a party, the Bible says not to touch the unclean thing & these people say it's O K as long as you are having fun, it does not matter what the festival is, one does not need to worry if that's not the way they look at it.

I look at it this way, if a man walks into the women's bathroom & when caught makes the claim it's just a bathroom in his eyes, so what's the big deal? will you women say that is a good enough excuse or would you call him a pervert, especially if you or your daughter were in that restroom?

We either are on the right hand of Jesus & are sheep or we are on Jesus' left & are stubborn goats that do what we want & make excuses for our conduct that goes against Bible doctrine.

True Christians do not observe it....People in Babylon the Great (False Religion) love mixing Pagan Rituals with True Worship.....Compare Exodus 32:4-10. Notice that the Israelites adopted an Egyptian religious practice but gave it a new name, “a festival to Jehovah.” But Jehovah severely punished them for this. Today we see only 20th-century practices associated with holidays. Some may appear harmless. But Jehovah observed firsthand the pagan religious practices from which these originated. Should not his view be what matters to us?

As a Christian, one of Jehovah's Witnesses I don't celebrate Halloween. It's all about demons and the devil. I just turn off my porch light and read a book, maybe have a glass of wine and enjoy my dogs and the quiet. The dogs however HATE it and go crazy when the doorbell rings. (Pomeranians, sort of born crazy but smart) My neighbors know this well and don't come to the door.

If you love "God" why don't you call him by his name? If you love "God" why do you celebrate Christmas? If you love "God" why are you a Christian? I feel the same about Halloween as I do for the rest of the pagan festivals American Society has glorified. Jeremiah 10:2 Thus saith Yahweh, YHWH, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. 10:3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. 10:4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. 10:5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. 10:6 Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O Yahweh ; thou art great, and thy name is great in might.

We don't celebrate it, never have, never will. Even before I was a bible student, we didn't celebrate it because we researched and learned the origin of it. We live on a private dirt road for 15 years and never have we had one knock on our door for treats.

When my kids were small, they loved to play dress up but never for any special occasion, just simply for playing. Tonight, we will enjoy playing games and watching a movie.

I have hated this holiday since childhood. Since I have learned what it's origin is and why it is celebrated I hate it even more. It is disgusting and an outright worship of Satan the devil and his demons. Why would any lover of God even think of getting involved in it.

I don't celebrate it and I'm a Christian. I look at it the same as Saint Patty's Day, or Kwanzaa, just Holidays that don't mean anything to me. If I'm going to celebrate something, I want to know what I'm celebrating.

We don't celebrate it, considering what it is really all about. The kids are not in the least bit disappointed either. As long as they have access to candy, no complaints. They get to play dress-up whenever they want, so no loss.

If it is all about candy and costumes, then why not pick another date to do it on?

Why tie it into a date that HONORS those individuals who died in Noah's Flood?

Why not do it on the last day of August? Or mid-June?

I will close and turn off the front porch light off, so they know that I am not going to give them candies. Because I don't celebrate Halloween because it is what Jehovah really hates it.

While it was originally a pagan holiday, it has morphed into a purely commercial holiday for the majority of the population. Nothing is being worshiped or praised on Halloween, it is simply a time to dress up and be silly and get candy. So many holidays in the U.S. come from pagan beginnings or are placed on pagan holidays, but that doesn't mean it is still pagan.

Halloween is a silly holiday mostly, but not entirely, for children. Personally I don't like it but neither do I find it particularly ungodly.

It is not about satanism or witchcraft. Nobody makes their daughter pass through the fire as fun at a halloween party.

Relax. Let people be with mostly harmless silliness. There is plenty of truly sad and unrighteous things to battle. Perhaps there is some little imperfection in your own life that you could work on.

God hates candy?
2009-10-30 19:36:56 UTC
Our Church has "trunk or treat." Weather permitting we bring the kids, decorations and candy. The kids come around to the cars with parents and collect candy and enjoy dress up. We try to help the kids choose appropriate and fun costumes. Whatever happened with ancient practices, current ones are the ones that really matter. It;s just a day for kids to dress up be silly and get candy.

I don't think the origin of a practice matters nearly as much as the present intent. People these days don't ordinarily pour any pagan significance into dressing up, carving pumpkins, or going trick-or-treating, and since I see nothing inherently wrong with it, it seem totally irrelevant to me whether anybody in the past ever did pour any pagan significance into these practices. I see no reason to think God would disapprove of people dressing up, carving pumpkins, or going trick-or-treating.

It's outrageous...but it's perfectly okay to frighten children with Hell.

I feel that Halloween is the People's Holiday, when children get to wander in the dark, old ladies get to admire the scary costumes of the children and distribute candy, and young folks get to have a party. It doesn't belong to either the church or the devil, it belongs to people.

What could be better?

No church should attempt to take it from us.

Hallowe'en is a Christian holiday. The day after Hallowe'en is All Saints' Day.
