the book of mormon speaks of cities and epic battles and how the Nephite (ancient mormons) people made weapons from metal and gold...but the problem is that there is NO PHYSICAL EVIDENCE of these materialistic things...it also speaks that in the early americas there was an epic battle where 2 MILLION people and soldiers were massacred...where are the swords...the armor plates...the destroyed houses...the skeletons of these people...?...there is no evidence....everytime the holy bible mentions an ancient city...people go and excavate it and find matching evidence written in the bible...why dont mormons do the same?....why dont they find an ancient artifact mentioned in the book of mormon?....because there is none...the book of mormon also mentions that the Nephite people had cats...dogs...horses...donkeys...and even elephants...Archeologists have found NO SKELETAL REMAINS of these animals in the area or anywhere close to the geographical sites described in the book of mormon...If you go to Egypt...you can EASILY go to a museum and look at the dead sea scrolls....scrolls THOUSANDS OF YEARS OLD...but the mormons dont have EVEN ONE scroll to look at...there is no accurate information...no evidence that jesus was in the Americas...theres not even evidence of primitive people having any sort of Christian beliefs...it also mentiones that little remaining Nephites were cursed and turned into what is now known as the Mayans and the Aztecs...if thats true...then why is there no evidence of metallic tools or steel armor plates...and why did they worship a sun god...a rain god...and even a war god?.....riddle me that mormons....theres is nothing...zero evidence of the Nephites existing..."religious cult"?...you be the judge...

This sounds exactly like a video I've seen.

Yeah, everyone knows that the Mormons are completely wrong. You can't have 3 civilizations vanish into thin air leaving virtually no physical evidence. They've had teams of archeologists scavenging Central America for years, and they haven't even found one lousy coin from these civilizations discussed in the Book of Mormon. Archeologists who study actual history can expect to find about a dozen coins a DAY in archeological ruins.

Plus, it was forbidden for Jews to be priests if they weren't of the Levite tribe. The Jewish guy who supposedly came over to the Americas made his own sons priests, and they definitely weren't Levites. Also, the Jews were forbidden to build temples anywhere but Jerusalem, and the Book of Mormon says that these men built a Temple to rival Solomon's Temple in the Americas.

So, no offense to Mormons, but the Book of Mormon is complete BS.

There's no evidence of gold or metal? Are you serious? You really need to look into your archeological history. Or, I don't know, go to a museum or something.

And of course there isn't any evidence for the destruction of the Nephites. That was centuries ago, and even if the bad guys had cared enough to bury the bodies of their enemies, there were too many. And even bones, left out in the elements for that long, wouldn't have lasted. It's unreasonable to expect it.

Egyptians embalmed and preserved, and they lived in a drier climate. You can't hold them to the same standards as a people who preserved next to nothing. That would also be unreasonable.

The "truth" seems to be that you have very little understanding of archeology or preservation methods or history. You need to do more research before deciding that you've exposed some great secret, which, by the way, has already been hashed to death--and easily countered--by too many others.

So in an area where there is 10 feet of soil and trees covering actual PYRAMIDS, you're complaining that we haven't found battlefields? So Mayan and Aztec scholars agree that there were massive battles............where are THOSE battlefields from 2000 years ago???

Supporting physical evidence does in fact exist. People like you simply choose to ignore it.

By the way, how did the 10 commandments, written in an ancient script of HEBREW, that pre-dated the Spanish come to exist in New Mexico????? Don't believe me? Google: "Los Lunas Stone".

Is the Bible only 18% true because we've only found 18% of the sites?

Would the Bible be less true if we weren't able to identify Jerusalem, Egypt, and Galilee?

By the way, Egypt is a DESERT not a JUNGLE. Things are preserved MUCH better in a desert.

Drop me a line if you're ever ready to actually have a discussion where you haven't made up your mind before you've actually studied the facts.

For the record, Books (....which you haven't read) have been written on this topic.

rather, there are 2 statements interior the BoM that spring to ideas that are at the instant are not real. One is latest in Mormon 9:32-33, the place the declare is made that "reformed Egyptian" hieroglyphics is extra compact than their Hebrew. This fact is consistent with early nineteenth century American information of linguistics, yet after Egyptian hieroglyphics have been decoded and this archives unfold to united statesa., it grew to become oftentimes happening that the opposite is real: Hebrew is extra compact than Egyptian hieroglyphics will ever be. on account that it is an blunders relating to the source language of the BoM, it rather is considered unfavorable. A 2d piece of blunders is latest in Ether 15:30-31, the place a decapitated Shiz struggles for breath. the ideas-blowing language reads: "he smote off the top of Shiz ... he had smitten off the top of Shiz." Shiz then raised himself up on his arms and "struggled for breath." i'm afraid it is impossible and indefensible. yet, those are purely 2 of the various issues of the counsel interior the BoM. See case in point a e book with the help of Mormon historian furnish Palmer: An Insider’s View of Mormon Origins.

anthropoligist dr john clark made a list of 60 items listed in the BoM

this list includes "steel swords," "barley," "cement," "thrones," and literacy.

1842 --- 8 out of 60 were known to have existed - so did archealogy support the BoM in 1842? not really.

however,

2005 --- 35 of 60 have been confirmed finds....and another 10 as tentatively confirmed. so in 2005 and now does archaeology support the BoM? yup. sure does.

hear are some great questions for any mormon:Why did the angel take Nephi Plates back to heaven? Do they not belong with man? Would not their existence prove once for all that Mormonism is truth? God allowed the Jews to carry the 10 commandments for several centuries in their original physical form, written by the finger of God Himself!

"Will you, as a Mormon, please read the Bible cover to cover and ask God to reveal to you that it contains all of God's message to man and that parts are not lost or altered and that the Book of Mormon is false?"

If the original 1830 Book of Mormon was inspired than why were there so many errors and changes and additions and deletions, when compared to current editions? How can we be assured that the translation of the B of M into French or any other language is correct? Only the English translation is claimed to be inspired

How do you account for the stunning parallels in both content and order between the B of M and the View of the Hebrews, by Ethan Smith? Published in 1823 (7 years before the B of M) less than 100 miles from the Joseph Smith's parents home.

Mormon Article of Faith #8: "We Believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God." Why do you only add the phrase, "as far as it is translated correctly" to describe the Bible and not after the book of Mormon when in fact there are far more translating errors in the Book of Mormon than the Bible?

If the Book of Mormon is true, then why has the Mormon church changed it? Examples are: 1 Nephi 11:21; 19:20; 20:1 and Alma 29:4. Compare these with the original Book of Mormon. (Gerald and Sandra Tanner have counted 3913 changes in the book of Mormon, excluding punctuation changes.)

How did Joseph Smith carry home the golden plates of the Book of Mormon, and how did the witnesses lift them so easily? (They weighed about 230 lbs. Gold, with a density of 19.3 weighs 1204.7 lbs. per cubic foot. The plates were 7" x 8" by about 6". See Articles of Faith, by Talmage, page 262, 34th ed.)

If Moroni devoutly practiced the Mormon Gospel, why is he an angel now rather than a God? (Doc. & Cov. 132:17,37)

Why do Mormons emphasize part of the Word of Wisdom and ignore the part forbidding the eating of meat except in winter, cold or famine? (Doc. & Cov. 89:12,13).

When Christ died, did darkness cover the land for three days or for three hours? (Luke 23:44 and 3 Nephi 8:19, 23).

Joseph Smith said that there are men living on the moon who dress like Quakers and live to be nearly 1000 years old. Since he was wrong about the moon, is it safe to trust him regarding the way to Heaven? (The Young Woman's Journal, Vol. 3, pages 263-264. See repreint in Mormonism --Shadow or Reality? by Jerald and Sandra Tanner, page 4.)

Joseph Smith prepared fourteen Articles of Faith. Why has the original No. 11 been omitted? (Joseph Smith Begins His Work, Vol. 2, three pages after page 160, among the photos.)

Why did the Nauvoo House not stand forever and ever? (Doc. & Cov. 124:56-60).

How can a man who is not a descendant of Aaron hold the Aaronic Priesthood? (Numbers 16:40; Heb. 7:13,14).

Since Mormonism teaches that only God the Father had a physical body at the time Adam was created, why did God say, "Let us make man in OUR image"? Why didn't He say, "Let us make man in MY image?" (Gen. 1:26).

If Jesus was conceived as a result of a physical union between God and Mary, how was Jesus born of a virgin? (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 1, page 50).

How did Nephi with a few men on a new continent build a temple like Solomon's while Solomon needed 163,300 workmen and seven years to build his temple? (1 Kings 5:13-18 and 2 Nephi 5:15-17).

Why was Joseph Smith still preaching against polygamy in October 1843 after he got his revelation in July 1843 commanding the practice of polygamy? (Doc. & Cov. 132; and History of the Church Vol. 6, page 46, or Teachings of the Prophet, page 324).

God rejected the fig leaf aprons which Adam and Eve made (Gen. 3:21). Why do Mormons memorialize the fall by using fig leaf aprons in the secret temple ceremonies?

How do you explain the fact that 2 Nephi 16:2 is copied from an older version of the KJV of the Bible in Isa 6:2? This is proven because this older KJV (the mistake is corrected in current versions) made a rare gramatical error by using the incorrect plural form of "seraphims" rather than "seraphim".

You cannot 'find' evidence when you are unwilling to look for it.

So...because there's no evidence found yet, for a land that we dont even know its specific location- whatsoever- that PROVES its not true.

Boy, you are just a budding scientist with that logic, my friend.

All faiths could learn more about each other, maybe if we all agree to open up our minds then maybe there could be some hope for unity. Maybe?
