Question:
Muslims, why do you reject that Jesus is the son of God and died on the cross?
2010-09-18 17:05:04 UTC
i am a former muslim, and i was extremely devoted to the religion. but then i started looking into whether islam is the right religion or not. muslims believe that Jesus was an important prophet and never lied. yet he clearly said during his last meat that he was gonna pay for many, meaning he was about to die on the cross so the world could be forgiven of its sins if they believe in him. people also called him the son of God and he never denied it, and everyone knows a prophet of God would never claim to be something hes not or let believe call him son of God if hes not. so explain to me, why do you reject christianity?

Listen to what God says about the matter:

And for saying: "We killed the Christ, Jesus, son of Mary, who was an apostle of God;" but they neither killed nor crucified him, though it so appeared to them. Those who disagree in the matter are only lost in doubt.

They have no knowledge about it other than conjecture, for surely they did not kill him, (157)

But God raised him up (in position) and closer to Himself; and God is all-mighty and all-wise. (158) There is not one among the people of the Book who will not believe in it before his death; and he will be a witness over them on the Day of Resurrection. (159)

157:4 The Quran

Now if you dont believe these verses are revelations then you need to answer an important question: why would Prophet Muhammad make this up ?

"the old testament clearly prophesizes Jesus's coming, and that is still maintained word for word. "

The above statement is not true, even Jews will tell you that.. !!

Edit@DJMantx: Prophet Mohamed was scared in the beggining only which is normal, are there any other accounts of him being scared ? find me one. Your logic is based on something that is not true, that makes it untrue too.

Edit questioner: If it is from the devil then why did he stop doing incredible tricks like these anymore ?

As Muslims, we reject Christianity because of the following: 1) God does not have a Son, because having children and/or partners in any way is an attribute of Creation, especially humans, but not of God. If God has a Son, then logically he is either a human or an impostor. 2) Although the Bible has been translated, it has been censored at some points and grossly added into in others in the course of the translations, so it is therefore unreliable as a source of truth; this especially goes for God allegedly putting Jesus on the cross for *us*; if God is merciful, then Jesus's sacrifice was unnecessary, as is it not beyond the merciful God to forgive us without requiring a sacrifice?; however Muslims do believe and agree that Jesus Christ is in fact returning at the end of this world, to fight off the Dajjal, aka the anti-Christ. Muslims also do respect the Bible as being of Divine origin like the Qur'an, the Torah, and the Psalms; but the Bible, Torah, and Psalms have not survived up to today from their original texts, while the Qur'an on the other hand, has. 3) Since it is now an established fact that the Bible you read out of today is NOT made with the words out of the blessed mouth of Jesus, we cannot say for sure that anybody during Jesus's life actually addressed or referred to him as a "Son" of God. In fact, the earliest Gospel was written centuries after Jesus's disappearance from this world, from (unreliable) oral tradition, while the Torah was obliterated out of existence by Nebuchadnezzar when he conquered Jerusalem and exiled the Israelites, and parts of the Psalms have unknown authors, exactly like the Bible. On the other hand, the Qur'an was memorized as revealed by the devoted Companions of Prophet Muhammad, as well as put onto paper by them, during his LIFETIME. From that point onward, thousands, maybe millions of Muslims learnt the Qur'an by heart, which is what enabled it to survive and be reliable as a source of Divine truth.

You are devoted to religion, and that is sad. You see, religion is man made, and belongs here on earth. Hence so much different religious movements that cover the earth like a dark cloud.

Religion has no place in the Bible or in the true faith that looks up to God.

Did you know that Jesus, our sacrificial Lamb, could never have died on the Cross if He did not at first and at once take up all the sins of the world when He was baptised by John the Baptist?

So, even the blood only doctrine believers are mere religious practitioners, for they too have changed Gods salvation plan for man.

Edit to Alshariff, You begin with the assumption that the Quran is the word of God...it actually disagrees with the word of God and ALL of the prophets of God.

Now if you don't believe these verses are revelations then you need to answer an important question: why would Prophet Muhammad make this up ?

Sir according to the Quran Muhammad did not make it up but received his revelation from a spirit and obviously this spirit disagreed with God.

We know Muhammad first considered this spirit a demon.

Q. 10:94 Explains that Muhammad should test this spirit with the true word of God as does all of the true word of God..it is God who confirms a prophet or the man is a false prophet.. Had Muhammad done as instructed or been able to actually read the true word of God he would have found the spirit that he spoke with disagreed with the God he claimed to worship.

edit to questioner.. It is very important to Satan to deny the true Jesus Christ who came to this world to overcome temptation sin and death for sinful man that through his righteousness atonement and resurrection we can be made new and joined to righteous God which is eternal life... Satan's plan is to deceive you as he deceived Adam and Eve in the garden. It is indeed the same lie.

Edit to Nubiez.. Please read your own Hadiths... there is no original Quran and five Qurans were burned by Uthman.. even if the Quran were original which we know it is not... it does not agree with the word of God... you have bought into a bunch of Islamic propaganda.. easily disproved.

You say you were extremely devoted, but you rejected a perfect book that has never changed for a hodge-podge of anonymous writings that have been through the hands of corrupt churchmen and politicians who crafted it for their own gain. Riiiiiight.

added..

The Quran, a book that enjoins the good and forbids the evil, and tells humanity that the devil is our sworn enemy, and asks us to seek refuge in God from him.... do you honestly believe such a book is from satan?

Is it not more likely that satan would try to persuade human beings to do the one thing which is most sinful in the eyes of God, that is to worship other than God. To worship a man, Jesus. That is where the devil has succeeded in winning you. But God is eager to forgive, Loving. You can turn back to Him and be welcomed.

Mohammed in the Bible REVEALED?

---->John Chapter 14 V15-16

If you love me, keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he shall give you another Paraclete, that he may abide with you for ever.

Clearly Jesus is telling us that another warner will come after him .

--->And he said, The LORD came from Si'-nai, and rose up from Se'-ir unto them; he shined forth from mount Pa'-ran [Mecca in Arabic], and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them.(Deuteronomy 33:2)"

Deuteronomy 33:1-2 combines references to Moses, Jesus and Muhammad. It speaks of God (i.e. God's revelation) coming from Sinai, rising from Seir (probably the village of Sa'ir near Jerusalem) and shining forth from Paran. According to Genesis 21:21, the wilderness of Paran was the place where Ishmael settled (i.e. Arabia, specifically Mecca).

---->In Genesis, ch. 21. Isaac is specifically blessed but Ishmael was also specifically blessed and promised by God to become "a great nation" especially in Genesis 21:13, 18.

After Jesus, the last Israelite messenger and prophet, it was time that God's promise to bless Ishmael and his descendants be fulfilled. Less than 600years after Jesus, came the last messenger of God, Muhammad, from the progeny of Abraham through Ishmael.

-->And in the Song of Songs Chapter 5 (in hebrew), the name Mohammed is mentioned.

And christians have denied Mohammeds name being in the bible - when clearly it is there.

Hebrew as it appears in verse sixteen: מחמד . It is read as : "Mahammad".

If you don't believe me, go to these translator links, paste the name מחמד and then translate it into English. You will see that מחמד is translated as "Muhammad".

Qur'an [4:157]

And [for] their saying, "Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah." And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain.

Qur'an [5:116]

And [beware the Day] when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, 'Take me and my mother as deities besides Allah?'" He will say, "Exalted are You! It was not for me to say that to which I have no right. If I had said it, You would have known it. You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within Yourself. Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen.

Qur'an [5:72]

They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary" while the Messiah has said, "O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Indeed, he who associates others with Allah - Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers.

Qur'an [5:73]

They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allah is the third of three." And there is no god except one God. And if they do not desist from what they are saying, there will surely afflict the disbelievers among them a painful punishment.

Qur'an [4:171]

O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, "Three"; desist - it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs.

Hope i answered ur question.

Muslims submit and surrender their will and desires to the will and the laws of the Creator. By referring to, "The Creator", Muslims are talking about "Allah."

The name "Allah" is unique. It has no feminine or masculine form (unlike 'god' or 'goddess'). It also has no plural form (unlike 'gods' and goddesses'). The name "Allah" simply means "The One and Only True God."

The Quran defines God as:

Surah Al-Ikhlas

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Say: He is Allah the One and Only; (1) Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; (2) He begetteth not, nor is He begotten; (3) And there is none like unto Him. (4)

================

Why would GOD , put an INNOCENT 'human being' to the CROSS and have him KILLED for the sins of MANKIND?

is it JUSTICE?

is it MERCY?

can GOD DIE? for him to be resurrected again?

Saliat, The Lord Himself will protect your faith. As every son is of the same substance of his father, so the Lord Jesus is of the same substance of the Father. He is the Son of God and of the same substance. The Father said "This is my beloved Son hear ye Him" Mat.3:17 and Mat 17:5

Isaiah spoke of the virgin birth 550 years before the Lord came to earth. "Behold the virgin shall conceive and bring forth a son ... and shall call His name ... Emmanuel" Isaiah 7:14 Emmanuel means (God with us).

The disciples worshiped Him "And they worshiped Him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy" Luke 24:52. Please take time in quite prayer that the Lord will enlight you more and use you for His glory.

Your brother, Shahid Amin

To Mr. Djmantx, Thank you for the time you gave and the knowledge that the Lord have given you for the glory of His name.

93,

How as a Muslim did you miss the parts of the Quran saying that the NT was altered? I'm not even a Muslim and I know how they justify their views.

Perhaps you are a "Liar." Lying is a sin, remember.

Edit_ The OT DOES NOT say Jesus is coming. Read it again, in the native language and you will learn most of those prophecies are not prophecies. Here http://www.aish.com/jw/s/48892792.html

Again, lying is a sin, little girl.

This Messiah would be born a human son, but have a higher nature

Isaiah 9:6: “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

This was a radical statement coming from a monotheistic Jewish prophet -- especially calling a human being “Mighty God”; but one that God fulfilled centuries later in Christ.

A couple hundred years later, but still more than half a millennium before Jesus walked the earth, more was predicted about the Messiah’s divine nature

Daniel 7:13-14: “There before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven . . . He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.”

“Son of Man” was the primary title Jesus used for Himself -- and this passage shows that this was a clear and strong claim of deity. And in Mark, the earliest of the four Gospels, He also included the unmistakable phrase, “coming on the clouds of heaven” and applied it to Himself (Mark 14:62). His listeners got the point, refused to believe it, and added it to their reasons to try to kill Him.

Jesus is God – His Earthly Ministry

The baby Jesus worshiped by the Magi

Matthew 2:11: “On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him.”

Along with being led to the site where Jesus was born, these Magi were apparently informed by God about Jesus’ divine identity, and so they responded appropriately by worshiping Him.

Jesus accepted worship from His disciples

Matthew 14:32-33: “And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, ‘Truly you are the Son of God.’”

In a Jewish culture, only the one true God can be worshiped; their actions show that they acknowledged Jesus as being divine. And Jesus didn’t correct them or say, “Don’t you realize that I’m just a mortal prophet? Stop worshiping me!” Rather, He accepted their worship, knowing He really was God in human flesh.

Jesus’ claim about Himself

John 8:58-59: "‘I tell you the truth,’ Jesus answered, ‘before Abraham was born, I am!’ At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds.”

This is a powerful double claim from Jesus: first, that He pre-existed His human birth and was actually alive and present (as God) before Abraham; second, that His title was “I am” -- which was the same title used for Jehovah God in Exodus 3:14. His listeners again got the point, and picked up stones to execute Him!

Another of Jesus’ claims of deity

John 10:30-33: “‘I and the Father are one.’ Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus said to them, ‘I have shown you many great miracles from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?’ ‘We are not stoning you for any of these,’ replied the Jews, ‘but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.’”

It couldn’t be clearer than it is here: Jesus’ highly educated listeners understood His claim of deity. They only had two possible responses: to humble themselves and bow before Him as the Magi and the disciples had done earlier, or reject His claim and judge Him as a blasphemer. Unfortunately they chose the latter option. But notice that Jesus doesn’t argue with their accusation, because it was accurate. He really was claiming to be God!

Thomas’ response to the resurrected Jesus

John 20:27-29: “Then He said to Thomas, ‘Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.’ Thomas said to him, ‘My Lord and my God!’ Then Jesus told him, ‘Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.’"

This disciple realized, because of Jesus’ resurrection, who Jesus really was -- and humbly worshiped Him and declared His true identity: “My Lord and my God!” Jesus not only accepts this declaration, but blesses all of the disciples -- and all of us today -- who come to the same realization and place of humble worship.

Probably because there is not a single shred evidence from an independent source that either events actually happened.
