Question:
Christians, what do you think of this atheist argument?
2008-06-21 01:18:00 UTC
Here it is:

"If God can see into the future, then means that BEFORE he created you, he knew you would go to Hell but he chose to create you anyways.

Some theists get around this by saying the future is not set and there are a number of possible futures, but omniscient means omniscient so in order for this to be true, this means that God has no clue which path you'll take and he's not all knowing.

So, the question is, wouldn't it be more loving never to create a person that he knew FOR A FACT would go to Hell?

You could say it was not his INTENTION that they go to Hell, but since he chooses to create them anyways, by DEFAULT his is destining someone to Hell.

Read that last sentence again, because it's important."

Okay, I'm Christian and I have my own rebuttal but I want to hear what you have to say. How do you counter this?

Thank you for your answers.

That isn't the argument any Atheist would present. That's just your lame interpretation. You didn't even have to tell us you were a christian. It's obvious.

Edit:

Free will contradicts the existence of a loving god that cares for its creations. I believe in free will. I don't believe in any god that concerns itself with the affairs of humans. If I did, I would have to conclude that this god was in no way loving or caring. In fact, I would conclude that such a god by 'default' was a cruel, vindictive monster and I would not worship evil in any form regardless of the consequences. You christians who thumb down my response and you who ask this question are naive, presumptuous, judgmental, and ignorant. Your fear of death and a natural life contribute to the ongoing spirit of deviant and immoral behavior all in the name of some pie in the sky god invented by goat herders hundreds of years ago, compiled into a book, whose words have been edited and mistranslated by power hungry politicians in order to manipulate and control the weak and the foolish. You are all pathetically childish and if you can’t get your own life together, I’d appreciate it if you could at least stop procreating which only serves to expand the ignorance, intolerance, and outright stupidity you expound to future generations of sheeple just like yourselves.

Here is the right answer. God is outside of time. The moment of creation and the moment of omniscience was one in the same. The moment god created the universe he knew everything that would transpire from that moment on. Before he created the universe God had no idea what would happen.

Christians, atheist arguments examined and rebutted.......? listed below are some atheist arguments: (A) query: "If Christianity is authentic, why are there endless different religions that have been around before Christianity that still talk a pair of virgin start?" (A) answer: (a million)There are not endless examples. There are some, yet once you think of roughly what number faiths there have been, of direction you will see similarities. There additionally are variations, yet once you in basic terms concentration on what's a similar, you are going to be able to make it seem to be a replica. (A) answer:(2) Christianity is the only faith wherein Jesus Christ became Crusified for our Sins(maximum religions have virgins and toddlers sacrificed to their "god"), became Buried and went into the depths of Hell to rescur Souls, and became Resurrected on the 0.33 day for our Salvation(all different faith's "god" in the two interior the grave if a human or stone or gold or graven photograph continues to be ineffective). Amen Anmswer: (3) Matthew 22:31-33 (King James version) 31But as touching the resurrection of the ineffective, have ye no longer examine that which became spoken unto you by utilising God, asserting, 32I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God isn't the God of the ineffective, yet of the residing. 33And whilst the multitude heard this, they have been astonished at his doctrine. (B) "If Christianity is authentic, why do no longer Jews have self belief in Heaven and Hell like Christians do and why isn't devil a bad guy to them? it is not any longer a minor ingredient" This argument is used to make it look that Christian interuptations of the Bible are contrived. no longer something might desire to be greater from the reality. easily, devil constantly became working against God. Jews have not got self belief this because of the fact they have misinterupted the scriptures. It became their ideals that replaced over the years, no longer ours. (C) What are your strategies in this? (D) examine the the two the outdated and New testomony. it is totally sparkling that devil defies God and has constantly executed this. Jews have self belief he became like a prosecuting felony expert working for God. it is in basic terms a concept that stepped forward for the duration of time. it is a corruption of the reality to make it sound like devil isn't a bad guy.

I think when life was created in it's original format and each Soul started rolling down different pathways, the lessons learned along the way are designed to nudge the good ol Soul back in the right direction of whatever path it has decided to take.

These could be on either (opposing) end of the Spiritual scale representing light & dark, positive negative etc.

The answer is because God loves us.

While God knows who is going to heaven and who is not, He doesn't change our choice. We make the choice, He just knows what choice we a going to make.

God loves us enough to let us have a choice, even though He knows what that choice is.

It was never God's plan to have a hell, He wanted Adam and Eve to never sin, and we would all live on a paradise earth, but God knew what would happen.

That is my explaination, it is nowhere near as good as the one God has, our minds can't comprehend God's foreknoweldge and how that affects our free will, we just have to have faith and believe.

First, many wont understand or wont believe this but the Holy One of Israel has declared the end from the beginning, knows the number of hairs on everyone's body that have lived or will live on earth & even where every atom & sub-atomical particle has been since the beginning, is now & where they will be at the end of time.

Good & evil (the complete truth) have always existed. However, God has never & will never allow evil to exist or manifest itself in Heaven. So God, only wanting people in Heaven that would have no desire to do evil, created Satan, knowing full well that he & other angels would rebel against Him, that He would have to throw Satan & his followers out of Heaven. God, knowing that small children r naive, not understanding the dangers & consequences of evil, created the earth outside His Heavenly boundaries where both good & evil could exist.

Then God created Adam & Eve & used Satan to allow Adam & Eve to see that right & wrong exist & that there r consequences 4 disobeying God, their Father. Thus, they were kicked out of the Garden of Eden as an example 2 all that would listen over all the centuries to come. In other words, children need 2 be taught by experience. Those who choose Jesus & learn 2 choose good from God instead of the evil of rebellious men (trees of good & evil) will be allowed in2 Heaven. Trees of good & evil r those would do both good & evil with regard to their fellow men & mankind while sidestepping rightly acknowledging their Creator as their true Father & His only Son, Jesus Christ.

God didnt directly create evil but He did create 1 who is evil that He could use as His tool to manifest evil on earth for Him. Verses stating that God is directly responsible for doing something evil its because God sent Satan to do His will. For God, the end does justify the means. For God's ultimate purpose which is for the benefit of those who choose Him & His Son. His will shall be done as God shall accomplish His purpose which requires that some be created 4 their distruction, those He knows will never except Him as their Creator. The real truth (which God fully understands) is that which exists forever as it always has (even if God didnt exist if that were possible).

The earth is the necessary school that God uses 2 teach those who are willing to listen so that they can learn 2 understand the real difference between the real truth as revealed by God from actual error that leads 2 the manifestation of evil which will never be allowed in Heaven. The future of this planet is set in stone just as God's Law as God's purpose is (every word of Scripture shall take place, not 1 dot shall be left out). Therefore, there will not be several possible futures. God designed everything 4 the purpose of maximizing His true love 4 His chosen 1s.

God doesnt want 2 sentence anyone 2 Hell but 4 the sake of the elect He had to make some 4 their destruction as He knows that that is what they will choose. God would rather that everyone except His Son & His way (the reason He sent His Son 2 die 4 our sins) but knowing He doesnt want robots He left it 2 free will choice. While God knows exactly who will make the right choice & subsequent choices & who will not we dont. Those who think along the lines of "once saved always saved" dont understand God shall reveal His children when the Book of Life is opened at Judgment Day.

Unfortunately, theres many religions, built on what man wants God 2 be like & its true most made many mistakes (many fatal) over time. I realized they cant all be right (Theres 1 Bible - why so many interpretations? II Pet 1:**19-21). I found religion wont teach u much about God (they cant teach what they don't understand). But it doesnt mean God doesnt know what He's doing.

The main point many miss is Jesus Christ is the only 1 in history whom stated that He's "the" way, "the" truth & "the" life & no 1 gets 2 God except by Him (Jn 14:6; 5:39; 10:1,7; Acts 4:12) & is the only 1 whom came from God. Its fully true or theres no truth & cant be any God (He knows what He's doing or He's not God).

Since Jesus is the only way 2 know God, it means "the" whole truth was complete & finished thru Jesus' teaching. So any claimed new teaching appearing thereafter & any other religious beliefs or from self-proclaimed prophets & teachers r invalid, null & void & have no purpose 4 finding God. God always knew all Jesus was 2 speak & do.

In fact, Jesus couldnt have done nor said all He did unless He had full knowledge & understanding of the entire OT (the NT didnt exist in Jesus' time - the only way Jesus could've known the whole OT is if God's with Him) & the Apostles couldnt remember & write down all thats in the NT unless Jesus made them know & remember His purpose (Lk 24:25-27,45). Only an incredibly Intelligent Being could make it happen.

But God outsmarted man - the Bible is the only 1 that cant be properly understood without Jesus (Jn 14:6; II Cor 3:14 - If the Jewish people cant pierce the veil over the OT without Jesus then for sure all gentiles cant). Thats why theres many interpretations & many thinking its fairytales.

Whoever seeks Jesus with all his heart & soul will find our real God & His Kingdom. Why should God want someone 2 live with Him forever if they dont want 2 know Him? There is everlasting hope only in Jesus Christ.

Here's what I think. I think religion is the most imprtant thing in the universe. I also think I am the most insightful and intellegent person on earth. So anyone who has a perspective or opinion different from mine is evil and dangerous and should be converted or destroyed. Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Praise the Lord!

Romans 9;22 What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, 23 in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory— 24 even us whom he has called, not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles? 25 As indeed he says in Hosea,

“Those who were not my people I will call ‘my people,’

and her who was not beloved I will call ‘beloved.’”

26 “And in the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’

there they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’”

I think it is a deep question maybe a mysteru that we won't fully understand till we see him face to face

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
2008-06-21 01:32:23 UTC
Nah, but then God gave you Jesus, so that you did not have to go to hell....

But Oh no, you just spat him in the face and hated all of His messengers, and you hated us so much that you seperated yourself from us and publickly spread the slander and inuendo, to the extent, that all others followed you into hell....

So now haw will you (that is the athiest) get into heaven without the Lord granting you the entry.?

It sounds an awful bit like your talking about predestination here or admitting the Christian God is less than perfect and not omnipotent, or that the Christian god is just cruel, enough to create people he knew would reject him anyway and make the punishment for that eternal hellfire and torture. Of course, I believe its all B.S, but, for arguements sake, thats what your really proving here with this

point.

God knows everything means, he "knows". It does not mean he controls. God does not control your mind. But, if you control your mind to obey God, then he will control your life, so that you do not fall into trouble. If you do not control your mind and life, God never interferes in your life, and you receive your destiny. God knows, what will happen to you. But, you can change your destiny, and it is totally in your hands as God has given you freedom to accept good and bad. In simple words, God does not interfere if you do not care for his commandments. Whatever you get, you get, but there is no "protection" for your life from God.

This really doesn't disprove God. So I wouldn't call it an atheist argument. It's more like a god-is-a-dick argument. Plenty of those around, considering all of the suffering and injustice in the world.
2008-06-21 01:21:21 UTC
Destining?

Whatever.

Anyway, that raises the whole Satan argument too. Why would God allow a powerful opponent to tempt his "creations"? He must have known what would happen.

What you just mentioned is an atheist arguing Calvinistic "predestination".

I don't know specifically to which denomination you belong, but in Catholicism this has long been called 'heresy'.

If Christianity was real, you'd be going to heaven :D

Awesome question!!!

It is not right to pretend to be what one is not, making decisions that only One can make.
2008-06-21 01:21:41 UTC
You need to worry a little more about your grammar.
2008-06-21 01:26:35 UTC
this is what I think.. Everyone needs God & everyone needs to get saved & repent of their sins & ask God to forgive them & ask Jesus into their hearts... thats what I think :)...
