Christians, how can we not tell the world about Jesus?

Jesus is everything good/pure. The absence of everything good/pure is everything bad/detestable.

Hell is the absence of Jesus.

Maybe we could live lives that demonstrate the love of Christ and do our preaching with our every action. People couldn't care less about what we say, but I guarantee you that they will watch everything we do.



My favorite quote is from St. Francis of Assisi, a man who knew much about this very topic:



"Preach the Gospel at all times. Use words if necessary."

Jesus may care about your belief and not your works, but the rest of us only see works.



If I saw the amount of support that went behind prop 8 and getting Caribou Barbie elected thrown into say....feeding and sheltering the homeless, rescuing animals, or other good causes, I'd be pretty impressed.

Not enough to believe, since it still wouldn't be evidence...But I bet you'd find lots of people more willing to listen to the message if it came from people that were actually practicing what they preached.

It might make people think there's something to all of it.



I'm not holding my breath, though.

Sorry, I don't click on anyone's links. But in answer to your question, we should tell the world about Jesus. More than that though, we need to show Jesus to the world. Let others see Jesus in you. Actions speak louder than words, and how detestable would it be to tell the world all about Jesus, but never let them see the work he has done in our own lives. More than telling the world about Jesus, we need to allow his love and grace to shine through us, so that others are asking, "What is it that is different about you?"
