Yes, but without the sting of death most people fear. You are among those that suffer fear of death. You are terrified. Satan has you so blinded. If you were in Christ that wouldn't be so, fearing death. Even that pre-Calvary account, when no follower of Christ knew for sure about death and what happens to believers, should convey the idea death wasn't such a bad experience at least for Lazarus. Eventually followers began to realize what Jesus meant by saying He was the resurrection and the life. Lazarus emerged whole and fully alive, and joined Jesus at his own table. Doesn't sound like Lazarus suffered much, if any, and certainly had no problems with Jesus, being resurrected, or facing eventual permanent physical death again.
So why would you suffer like this over Lazarus? How do you know he suffered? Hey, Lazarus got to witness a large number of Jews believing on Jesus because of his resurrection. He might not have been aware of dying when he did. Lots of folks with a disease with certain death just slip away in their sleep. Jesus said he had gone to sleep, and next announced he had died.
Would Lazarus' family and friends lament in the tragedy of his second physical death? Not likely. They would rejoice the next time, knowing where Lazarus went to. There would be no long faces, no crying then. In fact Lazarus was instantly put on the Priests' hit list, to be murdered ASAP. If I were Lazarus I'd step right up to the plate on the steps of the temple, preaching the truth, putting the jerks in a really tough spot. We don't know what happened to him later. I suspect many friends got him away to safety.
