Do you have any experiences with JWFind.net social website for Jehovah's Witnesses?

I know about the dangers related to online social networks and I am really thankful for all the warnings. It helps me to be more cautious.

Site for Jehovah's Witnesses which looks really nice is http://www.jwfind.net. According to the site FAQ all the maintainers are Jehovah's Witnesses and it seems that take the responsibility to care for the site really seriously.

I would like to ask - do you have any personal experiences with the site?

Yes, you are right, there are dangers and it is good to hear the warnings and bear them on mind while using any online site. I agree with those who point out that local congregation is the best place for social relations.



But I am also member of JWFind.net, not for dating but to be in touch with brothers and sisters from other countries. I like the opportunity to perceive the international extent of our the brotherhood :) In general I may say the site is quite different to other webs or groups which I tried before. It is well managed, as far as I know the admins do not tolerate anything bad there.



Unsilenced Lioness said that it is easy to access for ex JWs and that "questions are from witness 101". That is not true. Currently there are no "questions" in the approval process at JWFind.net site, but something different to verify that certain user is genuine. You may read more in the FAQ on JWFind.net. Further, possible intruders would be revealed sooner or later.



Even if the site is nice, it would be bad to spend a lot of time there. In the site FAQ you may read a bit about how to use it wisely and also in compliance with advices which we hear in our Kingdom Halls or read in publications.

One person said, "It seems that the vast majority of the criticism against the New World Translation is actually as a proxy for blind hatred against Jehovah's Witnesses. The hatred must be "blind" since secular experts of biblical Hebrew and Greek have consistently refused to condemn any particular verse or phrase as an unacceptable translation. Instead, it is religionists with preconceived theologies who bigotedly insist upon particular wordings, since these are necessary to prop up the shaky tenets of their false worship. " This is quite false. Just do a search of "accuracy of the New World Translation". Most JW's have no idea how accurate it is, or how inaccurate it is, as they don't have a school that teaches the original languages of Hebrew and Greek. They merely take the word of the leadership. If it were accurate, it wouldn't have changed, and changed again. Don't trust me, or them. Do your own research. BTW, you should also look up the credentials of their "translators".

It seem ok. You can't find brothers and sister at convention not enough time. A lot of time people in congregation don't accept older ones that are divorced or need encouragement. Something to think about.

I hope I am wrong, but are you trying to live a double life? Your social network with JW should be at the Kingdom Hall or in the field ministry. In those venues you will find wholesome association.
