Why did the jehovah's witnesses mass report this legitimate question about their teachings, from Grey Tower?

"Christians, is the number of the 144,000 (in Revelation 7 and 14) a literal number or is it symbolic?"

"I understand that up till now Jehovah's Witnesses believe the number is literal and that only 144,000 persons since the time of Jesus can be "anointed" and go to heaven to rule with Christ Jesus. I say "up till now" because I was told the Governing Body has received "increased light" and is changing its view, and will now suggest the number is NOT literal. This would allow for many thousands more to say they belong to this heavenly class. Is the number NOT literal? And does that mean the 12,000 from each tribe are not literal male Jewish virgins?


Why would JWs who claim to have the truth be so frightened of a simple question?

I hope Grey Tower will repost it. The JWs are all about information control because they know, deep down, that they belong to a fraudulent cult.

JWs are confused....



JWs have always argued that 144,000 is literal

JWs have flexed their doctrine to account for this literal application

JWs have always accepted that 12x 12,000 is not figurative (even though it's in the same sentence).



Go figure... 144,000 is literal and 12x 12,000 is figurative.



I guess it's just another prime example of JWs ability to live in delusion!

The number 144,000 has not changed and as it is in the Scriptures as a definite number, a literal one I can't see how it could be. I think erroneous and false information may have been put out in an attempt to discredit us, Jehovah's Witnesses

They didn't.



Anti-JWs move and mass report any questions, pro or con, about us. Before I started asking question anonymously, I had 15 of my questions reported and removed in about a 2 week span.



We do not mind people being critical of us. We can handle it. We can even handle people being insulting and mean in their questions and answers. The people who do it are people who want to erase our existence or censor what we say. Thry are the ones who mass report.

Grey Tower, I heard about the possible "New Light" on their 144,000 teaching. When I have valid proof, I'll post it.



This is great news if it's true.



Another major change means many more people leaving the borg.



I thought their ever changing 1914 would be the next doctrine to get a face lift.



I guess, we shall see.
