In the book QUESTIONS YOUNG PEOPLE ASK in page number 42 there is photograph of a teen age couple having a wonder full lip lock.Is this the right pics to published in a religious magazine claimed to be run by Jesus christ?
I think you should hide this book from non witnesses because this may be used by them for accusing you of maintaining low moral standard.
Before printing a pic in a magazine published by watch tower society People who claims them selves to be anointed would sit together and discuss with 3 or more photographs and decide which should be printed(my reference is your propaganda video)
If you are accepting this pic as right thing then your conscience does not synch with the mentality of the 1 century christians. No christian religious magazine would ever dare to publish these types of photographs.

"If you are accepting this pic as right thing.."

We are not accepting this as a right thing at all.

If you took the time to actually read the article instead of thumbing through the pictures trying to find fault (which is evident from your other 'questions & answers' about us) then you would find that the book is actually telling you that this sort of behaviour is NOT right.

Hope that helps!

I don't recall pictures or photographs included in the original manuscripts that eventually became the Bible, so I'll have to take your word on what was and was not acceptable to first century Christians.

Hiding something from people doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Sometimes, the direct approach is necessary. And in our current climate of perversion, this depiction of a kiss is as innocent as a new born baby.

A picture like this is EXACTLY what our young children need today.

It's also important to note that the photographic models used by the society in situations like this MUST BE MARRIED! They go through great pains to make sure that there is nothing untoward regarding their re-creations or depictions in the literature they print.

So now a question for you: What's worse? Accepting the image of two people innocently kissing, or accepting the image of someone you claim to be king murdered, stabbed, beaten and hanging on a cross? I would think any right-thinking lover of God and Jesus would find the images of a crucifix or pictures of Jesus on the cross as offensive and disgusting as anything could possibly be.

Oh my goodness!- I can't believe that you can be so offended by this picture---- well, actually I can as people who write down such little non significant things about the books of JW are only trying to pick on them and find fault!- so yes, I can quite imagine that the first thing that you would want to do is to make a scene!!

First of all, I take it that you haven't actually read the article on that page so that you understand what the chapter is about?- If you had then you wouldn't be writing down what you just have!

Secondly, the illustrations that are put in the YPA book are realistic ones for the age range of teens and young people- It is hardly an erotic tonsil tickler is it????

And lastly, I think you ought to know this, that all pictures that are printed and chosen by the Watchtower Society with male and females in them together in such closeness are in fact husband and wife!! (Such as the picture on page 13)....As well as other pictures with a man and a woman together.

Maybe next time, before you start making propaganda your self, perhaps you should first look up the meaning of that word as JW do not deal with ANY propaganda!!!

And also maybe you should read articles and make some proper findings out before spreading such lies about things that you don't know about!!---(Or should I say,...you don't want to know about!!)

Yes, because realistic illustrations are an appropriate teaching tool.

Jehovah's Witnesses illustrations (see links for examples of JW photographs/illustrations and artwork) are not explicit and do not titlate but they give young people the dignity of recognising they want direct clear instruction rather than squeamish overly vague or PRUDISH answers to their questions.

The modern world is a difficult place for a teenager today, and just reading Y!A question we know that children as young as 11 or 12 are seeking clear answers to very explicit questions - Jehovah's Witnesses direct them without being "shocked" or "shocking" to where they can find guidance.

The Jehovah's Witness articles and literature for young people are practical and realistic and contain no propaganda but only deal with questions young people ask such as

The world is full of immorality....and we are trying hard to help our young ones understand how it starts. It starts with hand holding and then that gets old and they move on to other things. But when a couple is engaged they may embrace and kiss. How else would they know if they have that something special to last a lifetime?

Most teens just hop from one bed to another and we plainly tell our youths how not to get into those situations. We all must put up a strong fight to do whats right.

The first century Christians had to deal with many things that were bad. They had to be shown and told these were not acceptable to God....even today at the end of this system of things Satan wants us all to die and is active attacking families. We have to put up a strong fight for the faith.

Jehovah's Witnesses love their children and want the best for them. So we approach dating head on.

And we hope it benefits all who read about the right way to do things.....God's way.

But you notice the picture is not illustrating Jehovah's Witness teenagers in lip-lock but those in many societies where children are brought up to the encouragement of unrestrained promiscious ways.

Neither Jehovah's Witnesses or did first century Christians mask-over or water down the dark realities of this sinful world but rather teached head on from scriptural principles so life giving lessons about God's view of the matter can be learned and encourage young people to make good choices in their lives.

A picture of kissing to show where promiscuity begins is not a picture showing sexual penetration where sadly where it inevitably ends up leading to guilt, STDs, rape, pregnancy and the furtherance to permissive societies that is alienated from God.

Now what were you saying about that picture again?

So I'm assuming that you would remove the Song of Solomon from all Bibles?

Agreed, it does not contain "pictures".

But it very plainly paints "word pictures".

The Song of Solomon was in the Bible used by early Christians and is in our Bible today. It is there as a "picture" of the proper way romantic love can have in a person's life with the choosing of an acceptable mate.

Many people may wonder what the picture really is. Please feel free to ask one of Jehovah's Witnesses the next time we call to bring a copy of Young People Ask - Volume 2. Then you may see for yourself what is referred to.

You're offended by a picture of a man and a woman kissing? What's inappropriate about that?

If they were half naked or had their tongues down each others throat, then I would agree. But it's a respectful, dignified and wholly appropriate illustration to tie in with the subject being discussed.

wow you seriously think that there is only one edition of such book in the whole wide world? and that every single one of it has a picture mentioned by you on the 42nd page??? And was this a question or a statement really??? "Religion - opium of the masses"
?

Well, i thought I would throw my answer in, even though I am not a Jehovah's Witness. I think the issue that I would contend when it comes to JWs would not be the poor editing standards of a church publication, but the manner in which they fail to give the Lord Jesus Christ his rightful place in the godhead. The issue that will determine ones standing before the Creator and God of the universe is the manner in which you identify His Son, the means of salvation, and the high standard with which you hold his word to. Just my 2 cents, but I do agree that that seems to be poor editing for a Church publication...

youre soooo funny tommy.

You should read the articles there is a lot more juicier stuff in there than a little kiss.

You'll also find practical answers to situations that every kid faces handled in a straightforward manner, rather than hidden away and make kids forced to go to confession to talk to the priest about.
