It doesn't say anywhere in the Bible that all good people go to heaven, yet this is what most people believe since they they are never taught about God's purpose for the earth.

David did not go to heaven for two reasons,1) no one went to heaven before Jesus was resurrected and went to heaven:

(Colossians 1:18) He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that he might become the one who is first in all things;

2) David had the same hope that I do; of living forever on the paradise earth. One of the Psalms that David wrote under inspiration from God was Psalms 37. Consider some verses there about his hope:

(Psalm 37:10-11) 10 And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. 11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.

(Psalm 37:29) 29 The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside forever upon it.

Jesus quoted from this Psalm in his sermon on the mount:

(Matthew 5:5) “Happy are the mild-tempered ones, since they will inherit the earth.

Theses ones will live under the government of God's son as it accomplishes God's will for the earth:

(Matthew 6:10) 10 Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth.

Some 33 times in the book of Matthew we see the expression "the Kingdom of the heavens" because that is where the capital of God's Kingdom is located, however not all citizens of God's kingdom have to go to heaven anymore than all citizens of the United States government have to go to Washington D.C.Jesus stated what the requirement is for those to go to heaven:

(John 3:5-6) 5 Jesus answered: “Most truly I say to you, Unless anyone is born from water and spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 What has been born from the flesh is flesh, and what has been born from the spirit is spirit.

Those who go to heaven are resurrected with spirit bodies, and those who will live on this earth will be resurrected with physical bodies. Those who are going to have spirit bodies are given a token of that fact by God: it is a special witness given to them by his Holy Spirit. Jesus was the first one who was "born again" since, if you recall, at the time of his baptism the Holy Spirit descended upon him in the form of a dove. After this the first humans who were born again were those who were present in the upper room in Jerusalem at Pentecost of 33 C.E.. Being "born again" is not the same as having God's Holy Spirit. David had the Holy Spirit, but he was not "born again":

(2 Peter 1:21) For prophecy was at no time brought by man’s will, but men spoke from God as they were borne along by holy spirit.

(2 Samuel 23:2) The spirit of Jehovah it was that spoke by me, And his word was upon my tongue.

So before the time of Christ the resurrection hope was for life on the earth. Then after Jesus came to earth the way was opened for those few who will rule with him to go to heaven. That is another thing that most people do not realize: that those who go to heaven have a job to do there:

(Revelation 5:9-10) 9 And they sing a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, because you were slaughtered and with your blood you bought persons for God out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, 10 and you made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they are to rule as kings over the earth.”

However David will live right here on the earth and enjoy the blessings of God's Kingdom:

(Revelation 22:1-2) 22 And he showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, flowing out from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2 down the middle of its broad way. And on this side of the river and on that side [there were] trees of life producing twelve crops of fruit, yielding their fruits each month. And the leaves of the trees [were] for the curing of the nations.

If babies do not go to heaven, how is it that David knew he would see his child again? We certainly know that King David is in heaven with the Lord right now. He joined his young child "when David slept with his fathers and was buried in the city of David." (1 Kings 2:10)

I believe this story can be a source of great comfort to anyone who has lost a child who never had the opportunity to make a decision to follow Jesus. In fact, it is Jesus himself who commends adults to follow after the innocent state of children. He told his disciples; "Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:3)

the rationalization this issuch a difficulty interior the christian church is via the fact froma youthful age each physique is taught they're going to heaven whilst they die. This of course isn't real, even though it is so ingrained that no person desires to ascertain its not real as there is going their protection blanket. in factor of certainty we are actually not promised heaven, however the earth, now the place became Gan eden yet on the earth, the place is Paradise, paradisio & what does it recommend? properly Paradise is Gan Eden the backyard of EDEN, so the place became the backyard? on the earth of course. the place do the spirits of people who sleep bypass? Gan Eden/Paradise. To do what? anticipate the resurrection of the ineffective, so as that they are in a position to be reunited with the resurrected physique. lots of people who've died or had a distinctive to dying journey, talk of being in a backyard, alluring flora, greener tha eco-friendly grass etc. WHY? they are experiencing the backyard of EDEN. Many record seeing a alluring place interior the gap they can't attain. Heaven. One individual stated Heb12:23, this of course isn't conversing approximately being in Heaven, yet our names are written in heaven, interior the books. Recorded there in readiness for the Judgement of the righteous & if not there for the White Throne Judgement. The righteous incorporate Messiah to the earth to be reunited with their resurrected bodies, yet i think they arrive from the backyard of Eden, that's the place Yeshua promised the repentant thief he could be with Him, interior the backyard/Paradise. Absent from the physique present with the Lord? confident, yet heaven isn't our domicile, we could bypass to there, i don't understand, yet everywhere Messiah is we are, so if He is going we bypass, yet that is barely stated after He looks & the ineffective in Messiah upward push up & then people who're alive. So we bypass the place He is going basically after the 1st Resurrection. till that factor i think the righteous ineffective are interior the backyard with Messiah, the incontrovertible fact that He can bypass everywhere would not recommend we are in a position to. Yeshua especially suggested He became the only individual who had descended & ascended. For us to declare something we make Him a liar & in factor of certainty not in us.

Says who? Yeah, he made it.

What's "Jehovah said to my Lord," got to do with it?

It seems from your quote, that David saw and heard things going on in Heaven, even before he died. How many have had that privilege?

Acts 2:25: "For David saith concerning him: I foresaw the Lord always before my face: because he is at my right hand, that I may not be moved; (26)For this my heart hath been glad, and my tongue hath rejoiced: moreover, my flesh also shall rest in hope: (27)Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, nor suffer thy holy one to see corruption." That verse means that David was speaking of Jesus when he said God did not leave His body to decay. Because Jesus was raised from death. David was buried and when the resurrection occurs, David will be resurrected.

Jesus had not died for our sins yet, and sinners cannot enter the kingdom of heaven, unless they've been washed clean by the blood of Jesus. I'm pretty sure he's there now.

Because the resurrection of the dead has not occurred yet.

David's spirit went to Abraham's Bosom and then was taken by Jesus to heaven and awaits the resurrection of the dead when all believers will receive their eternal bodies.

.

The invitation to Heavenly life had not yet been extended to mankind at the time of David's death.

That invitation was instituted by Jesus, and those of his chosen ones, who followed his example, and lived faithful until death, were the first to follow him into heavenly life.

are you sure it wasn't his soul that went to heaven? maybe the other peeps he was with went in the physical form, but he might've went with just his soul? idk, I never read very much of the Bible to be honest.

ohhh, I think because he mentioned Jehovah. Jehovah is a different name for God, but there's different beliefs...very very different. but idk if that would deny him from heaven o_O

That is my guess.
