Question:
How Does God Choose Who to Save?
It's Your World, Change It

an excerpt from An Atheist Manifesto:
"Somewhere in the world a man has abducted a little girl. Soon he will rape, torture and kill her. If an atrocity of this kind is not occurring at precisely this moment, it will happen in a few hours, or days at most. Such is the confidence we can draw from the statistical laws that govern the lives of 6 billion human beings. The same statistics also suggest that this girl s parents believe at this very moment that an all-powerful and all-loving God is watching over them and their family. Are they right to believe this? Is it good that they believe this?"

"Consider the destruction that Hurricane Katrina leveled on New Orleans. More than a thousand people died, tens of thousands lost all their earthly possessions, and nearly a million were displaced. It is safe to say that almost every person living in New Orleans at the moment Katrina struck believed in an omnipotent, omniscient and compassionate God. But what was God doing while a hurricane laid waste to their city? Surely he heard the prayers of those elderly men and women who fled the rising waters for the safety of their attics, only to be slowly drowned there. These were people of faith. These were good men and women who had prayed throughout their lives. Only the atheist has the courage to admit the obvious: These poor people died talking to an imaginary friend.

Of course, there had been ample warning that a storm of biblical proportions would strike New Orleans, and the human response to the ensuing disaster was tragically inept. But it was inept only by the light of science. Advance warning of Katrina’s path was wrested from mute Nature by meteorological calculations and satellite imagery. God told no one of his plans. Had the residents of New Orleans been content to rely on the beneficence of the Lord, they wouldn’t have known that a killer hurricane was bearing down upon them until they felt the first gusts of wind on their faces. Nevertheless, a poll conducted by The Washington Post found that 80% of Katrina’s survivors claim that the event has only strengthened their faith in God."

Well you keep right now believing what you want. Why on earth do you care if someone believes in God, what is it to you. I would rather die in a hurricane believing in God then die in one as an atheist. The reasons for this are too far out of your understanding to even grasp. When it comes to God you are deaf , dumb and blind and it would be like trying to explain to a baby, the meaning of life.

God knows who will respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We do not.

Those who are under the age of accountability are considered innocent.

Psalms 14:1 KJV The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

What will hapen to you when you are before God's Judgement Throne?

Revelation 20:11-15 KJV (11) And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. (12) And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. (13) And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. (14) And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. (15) And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

I find utter amazement when people relegate to God why bad things happened but can't give credit when God blesses.

You are the like in this debate.

I find Christians are willing to give Him honor and glory even through the most difficult trials and tribulations. Non-believers will always criticize God when things like this happen, even though they deny His existence.

Yet, these same people cannot give any credit when things go well and they become prosperous. They claim themselves for their benefit.

Simple solution...blame others when things go wrong, credit themselves when all goes right.

Self-righteous hypocrites.

God is God through all circumstances. Mankind changes, not Him.

God exists, don't fool yourself by giving into meaningless old philosophy if God is merciful then why this and that. Because mass people die at once it doesnt mean God is not there. Don't waste your time, open your eyes, look at the beauty of the world and the whole cosmos, its not an accident. It is all God's creation..perfect and beautiful...just like God.

No where does the bible make a claim that God looks in our hearts to decide who will be saved or not.

God decided way before our births who He would save. It's called predestination. God, beforehand, predetermined who He'd save. It's not about us and it never will be. It's all about Him, that's why we pray His will be done.

Romans 8:29

"For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren."

Romans 8:30

"Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified."

Ephesians 1:5

"Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,"

Ephesians 1:11

"In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:"

Yes, the world is a violent place... but I don't see how that disproves God or proves who will go to "hell" or not.

God chooses who to save by reviewing our lives and the extent of our sins ; and how does your extra information relate to the question.
