What do you think of Westerners who adopt Muslim children?

Salaam.

I'm a Muslim and I don't support it. In the 1990s there was a lot of Western Europeans, Americans and even East Asians (Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese) who have adopted Muslim children in South Asia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Albania, Bosnia, Kosovo, Indonesia, Somalia and other countries. Why? They take children from their religion and they educate them as if they (Muslim children) were Christians, Jews, Buddhists or atheists. It’s an absurd and very sad. This still happens today.

I dont either, because then they may take their religion away and can fill their heads with whatever they want. Im not judging them and im not saying they certainly do that, but i am saying that they should remain with muslims so they can grow up on the religion of islam.





I know that people adopt out of love for orphans so i also need to add that it is our fault because muslims do need to step up and take care of our orphans becasue they are our responsibilities. We have the responsibility of teaching them and raising them and caring for them. Muslims need to wake up and take care of eachother.

You make "Muslim" sound likes its a race or ethnic group, its not. People in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Albania, Bosnia, Kosovo, Indonesia, Somalia and other countries are not born believing in Islam, so they're not Muslim, they are to young to identify with any religion. They are what ever religion they believe in, which in most cases in the religion they were raised to believe.



Which is worse? Less kids being raised Muslim? Or orphans being left with no parents?

The obvious question is why can't Muslims take care of their own orphans if this is such an issue? You should be happy they aren't starving in the streets, or becoming casualties of war.

As long as the children are raised in a safe and loving environment what difference does it make if they are raised to believe in one religion or another. Or in the tooth fairy or father christmas. Taking them away from islam could be the best thing anybody will ever do for them. At least they won't end up believing that if they strap explosives to themselves and kill and maim dozens of innocent people it's a good thing and that is how to get to heaven.

2) Nevertheless if the situation were reversed you would no doubt try raising such adoptees as Muslims would you not? What do you expect?

Muslim already "instruct" some countries electorate as though they have been Muslim (and impose them that), despite in the event that they're Christians, Jews, Buddhists, or atheists. that is an absurd and extremely unhappy. This nonetheless occurs as we talk.

Bringing up children in any religion can be seen as a form of brainwashing. Children are not Muslim, Christian, Buddhist or any other religion. Religion is forced on them by older members of their society.



That is what I find absurd and sad.

Well they aren't doing it to be cruel, the reason so many westerners were adopting these kids was because they were living in poor conditions. I don't think there is anything wrong with it.

False. They do not take the religion away from the children, since the children are clearly too young to understand theology. I think it's great, particularly if the parents doing the adopting are atheist and rational people.

If you oppose it, then I suggest you encourage your fellow Muslims to stop warring with each other over every little thing. That way, Muslims won't be killed and there'd be no orphans for Westerners to adopt.
