The answers to your question(s) are in the Bible. But, based on your question, I can tll that you have been lied to about the condition of the dead. there is an online book that is called "What Does the Bible Really Teach?". You will greatly benefit from it's contents if you read it with your Bible at hand and look up all the cited scriptures.
To Answer your question though. The Bible teaches that there will be a resurrection of the dead after armageddon. (Acts 24:15) this resurrection takes place during the thousand year reign of Christ. During that time, those who have been raised to heaven will be Kings and Priests to rule with Christ in Heaven. The bible shows that there is a determined number of those chosen for this privilege. (Rev. 7:4; & 14:1-5) notice that verse 3 says these are the ones "bought" from the earth. During this 1,000 year reign, or "Judgement Day" is when this resurrection of the "righteous and the unrighteous" takes place. They are resurrected to earth, in fullment with God's original purpose, before Adam & Eve sinned.(Gen.2:28)
Psalms 37:11 proclaims, "11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth,
And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace."
Verse 29 also says "The righteous themselves will possess the earth,
And they will reside forever upon it."
Gods original purpose is for Mankind to live forever on earth. He has made Christ King to bring the survivors of Armageddon and those resurrected during the 1,000 years to a perfect condition before God. After all humans are perfect, Satan will be let loose to tempt perfect humans. And he will succeed with many.(((Revelation 20:7-10)))
"Next, the end, when he hands over the kingdom to his God and Father, when he has brought to nothing all government and all authority and power. 25 For he must rule as king until [God] has put all enemies under his feet. 26 As the last enemy, death is to be brought to nothing. 27 For [God] “subjected all things under his feet.” But when he says that ‘all things have been subjected,’ it is evident that it is with the exception of the one who subjected all things to him. 28 But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him, that God may be all things to everyone."-1 Corinthians 15:24-28
