Question:
why don't theists understand that they will forever have the burden of proof?

They are making the positive claim that god exists, so they have to provide the evidence to back up their claim. Yet when they are told this, they seem to get very angry and try to turn it around on us and tell us to prove he doesn't exist. As atheists we are openminded, and polite to others, but when theists tell us to prove their god doesn't exist, I question their intelligence. Because anyone with some level of intelligence would realize that proving something doesn't exist is impossible. Not because god is real, but because it's legit impossible, why? Because non-existence leaves no evidence. If you were to go about proving the non-existance of santa claus, it's impossible because since santa doesn't exist, he leaves no evidence of his existence.

As well they love to try and close down what is called evidence of absence.
Evidence of Absence: Evidence of absence is evidence of any kind that suggests (via certain types of inference or deduction) the non-existence or non-presence of something. A simple example of evidence of absence: checking one's pocket for spare change and finding nothing but being confident that one would have found it if it were there.

Flip the example to fit religion:

checking for evidence of god and finding nothing but being confident that one would have found some if it were there.

When theists do all this, is it just because they are being ignorant and know deep down that they have no evidence? So they try to fight back? Or are some just legit stupid?

I can't wait for the ignorant answers from theists that try to push the burden of proof back onto the atheist or say "i dont have to prove anything to you, cuz you don't believe". It's so pathetic.
No amount of crying, whining, name calling, threatening, or anything will change the fact that christians have the burden of proof. You can try to push it on atheists all you want, but in the end you still have the burden. Don't ignore the fact that you have zero evidence.

If you honestly believe the burden of proof is on the atheist, then i feel sorry for your loss, the loss of your intelligence. My condolences to everyone that knows you. You are braindead.

First you are questioning the theist. Next, the Christians. By definition I am a theist but I'm not a Christian nor am I ever one.

You're assuming theist as dumb or even imbecile. How can we prove it to you if we're so braindead anyway? Can you rely on the opinion of a dumb person? So who's not being open-minded here?

The proof is everywhere around you! Just look. This is only instinctive to most people. You think theist aren't rational and illogical personally because of most nonsense you find out in religion. So then why don't you keep looking? Only the wise ones really know which one is true, acceptable and which one is not.

And who says just because a theist believe in the existence of "god" or "deity" then supposedly they reject Sciences and all kinds of logical argument? In fact, Science is beginning to prove the existence of Higher Power and even if it's only on the tip of the iceberg so far it's still being proven (e.g. Big Bang Theory). Only time will tell.

And stop assuming the theist as always begging to the so-called "sky daddy" or whatsoever you might've called. In my opinion, if a Higher Power exist there's no way "he" is going to resemble the human being in any kind. How can when He's supposed to be superior above everything? I supposed you assumed theist as just merely believing in only fairy tales from the past is it? Wrong.

The way I see it, there's no way I'm going to believe that there was nothing and nothing happened to nothing and then nothing magically exploded for no reason, creating everything and then a bunch of everything magically rearranged itself for no reason what so ever into self-replicating bits which then turn them into dinosaurs. Wow... now that's a bit weird.

i think of you're blind. it is not substantial who they are non secular or Non non secular, nether facet can practice any undertaking previous a shadow of doubt. because of the fact of this we are people. you are able to not practice or disprove the existence of any undertaking. each concept, concept, and information is incorrect by employing the unknown, yet merely approximately each little thing has one undertaking in common and that's potential in one kind or yet another or perhaps that could and could not be shown to any degree of accuracy.

Why don't atheists understand that once a theist presents any evidence that the burden is passed. It is now the atheists turn to refute the evidence presented!

ATHEISTS SIMPLY NOT FULFILLING THEIR ROLE, DOESN'T MAGICALLY CHANGE THE RULES OF THE GAME!

THEN AGAIN, ATHEISTS LIVE LIFE BY THIS PHILOSOPHY SO, WHY WOULD IT CHANGE HERE?

WHO'S REALLY DOING THE PUSHING HERE, TOUGH GUY?

You are ignorant in assuming who bears the burden of proof, The burden of proof is for agnostics who have not decided. For theists there is only the need to believe which requires no proof. That is why it is a belief and not a theory.

Think about it!

Burden of proof.. Sorry go find out for yourself, I carry no such burden nor pretend to. Life is not a debate.. Get outside, and smell the roses.

Yeah, well, give them an economic incentive to provide the proof, and then see what they offer up as proof.

So I should expect to never see you refer to the problem of evil as an argument against God, correct?

After all your intelligent arguments, if you are going to live as if there is no God, you'd better be right!

I have proved it

So now that you want to tell me that he doesn't exist, I ask you for evidence that he doesn't

if you cannot provide the evidence, don't blame me
