Can the God morality dilemma be answered properly with Yes or No answers ONLY!

For those who believe in the christian or catholic God then answer the following dilemma

Here is The God Morality Dilemma! by R.Ries 1987
1. Does your morality come from God?
(Yes/No)
1a. Does your morality come from Bible?
(Yes/No)

1b. Do you believe in the 10 commandments?
Note: this shows that the person knows or does not know that the new testimate is tied to the old testimate and they can not be separated. You can not believe in one and not the other, so this question is a basic knowledge check.
(Yes/No)

2. Can God Change his mind or rules for you to follow at any time, either now or in the future?
(Yes/No)

3. Do you believe your Gods word absolute?
(Yes/No)

4. If God orders you to kill your own child or family, would you?
(Yes/No)

Death for Cursing Parents (Proverbs 20:20 NAB) (Leviticus 20:9 NLT)
Death for Adultery (Leviticus 20:10 NLT)
Death for Fornication (Leviticus 21:9 NAB)
Death to Followers of Other Religions (Exodus 22:19 NAB)
Kill Nonbelievers (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB)
Kill False Prophets (Zechariah 13:3 NAB)
Kill the Entire Town if One Person Worships Another God (Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT)
Kill Women Who Are Not Virgins On Their Wedding Night (Deuteronomy 22:20-21 NAB)
Kill Followers of Other Religions (Deuteronomy 13:7-12 NAB) (Deuteronomy 17:2-5 NLT)
Death for Blasphemy (Leviticus 24:10-16 NLT)

You can see that god has ordered the murder of people and has explicitly orders family members to murder their family members and according to the words of the bible it was DONE as in the people were murdered by their family members as god commanded

I believe I can no longer support a god or gods of any kind that would do something like this, I am a moral person and did not realize how IMMORAL My Christianity and GOD was until just now after some deep reflection of this question.

I can see that real morals must come from my humanity like the poster above...Yes, YES

There is NO NEED for GOD I can see it now, it is clear and I can feel my heart opening and feeling the love of atheism filling my body and mind....

I really can feel true Love for all People, thank you so much R.Ries is a truely great person thank you so much for SAVING ME from religion

This is one of those questions so thoroughly answered before that I must assume it is cut-and-paste.

I will not answer again all those citations but I will AGAIN give three principles.

The three sentences you mention (ex and lv) would make one a murderer if done personally. Use your head. You could say 'Oh, I discovered Jack is gay so I killed him' -- when the fact is you took Jack's wallet.

How stupid of you, but the context shows that a private person who did this is a murderer.

The inhabitants of the Promised Land were expelled for killing their children and saying that God required it !!! I have put this many times and still no answer

3

For truly, the ancient inhabitants of your holy land,

4

whom you hated for deeds most odious-- Works of witchcraft and impious sacrifices;

5

1 a cannibal feast of human flesh and of blood. . .-- These merciless murderers of children,

6

and parents who took with their own hands defenseless lives, You willed to destroy by the hands of our fathers,

7

that the land that is dearest of all to you might receive a worthy colony of God's children.

Finally, David committed adultery and murder and there was no such sentence. In fact for your 10 examples, 7 have no example in a few thousand years of having been invoked !!!

The death sentence for cursing parents effectively stopped the practice, which is the point to most readers.

But this is the last time I answer you on this. Whoever accepts what you say deserves to be fooled. To believe that you could murder someone and claim it was okay because they are homosexual is beyond being human or sensible. What a mean idiot you must be.

It could take me at least an hour to construct a proper apologetic response to this lengthy Q.

A good answer exists but unfortunately because the question has so many elements I can only offer what will seem an ineffective one. but I'll try.

First off, The Christian God IS the Catholic one... they are one in the same.

Morality is derived not from the Bible but from God's nature which is good (*not his choice in answer to the Euthyphro dilemma.)

Man, the only rational creature capable of morality, is naturally drawn to recognize and choose good over evil moral acts. The properly informed and functioning conscience of both theist and atheist alike is intuitively drawn to recognize and choose good over evil moral acts.

The challenge you place later in your Q regarding O.T. God's call to murder....Although murder is condemned in the decalogue and recognizable by all as a moral wrong through Natural Law (described briefly above) Aquinas argued succesfully for a just war theory (The Nazi oppresion of the jews in WWII is often reffered to as an example of a "just war") in it, the moral act of murder becomes justified but to be clear is not changed to be an example of "good murder" Murder is an evil moral act. A just war theory allows for the justification of an immoral act of course certain conditions must apply and the cause of war indeed be just.

I'm guessing you won't find these anwers satisfactory because I've not addressed each Q with the Yes or No answer requested. You'll just have to accept it as the best I can offer considering the depth and nature of the Q.

You are asking questions that, for most people, cannot honestly be answered with a simple "yes" or "no". This is a dilemma only because you place this constraint on answering the questions. If I were released of that constraint and permitted to answer the questions honestly, there would be no dilemma, moral or otherwise.

1) Yes, your 4th question implies it as I'll explain in a minute.

1a) The Bible is to fine-tune one's morality. We all have a basic understanding of right and wrong, the Bible simply aids us in furthering our understanding of what we finitely know. So, yes.

1b) Depends what you mean by "believe." I "believe" bananas exist, but I don't look to them for guidance. As such, I believe the 10 commandments exist, and since they're Old Testament Law (and primarily for the Israelites), we are not confined to follow them alone, but they are to be a guideline, for we are justified by faith in Christ.

2) Yes. However, he doesn't need to because he's already seen everything throughout all time. Doesn't mean he can't though nor does it mean he'll simulate that he changes his opinion to bring about his plan.

3) Yes. We need to make sure we understand what he says though.

4) There's always a message behind what God says. Like when God commanded Israel to completely destroy all men, women, and children in paganistic nations. God gave them plenty of time to repent and warning that they would be judged, but they didn't listen, and their sins were so great and influential that God needed to completely cleanse the land. Israel kept some people alive because they didn't see it right (moral nature) but they ended up being influenced by pagan beliefs and started following false gods which is why God said to destroy "everything."

If God tells me to kill my family but there's no message behind it, I can readily conclude that it's from Lucifer. Secondly, God wouldn't tell me to do so because we are justified by faith in Christ, there's no need to destroy as in the Old Testament.

Your question is therefore, conditional, and cannot be answered in a simply yes/no answer format.

Everything you listed is primarily from Old Testament Law. You really need to study the Bible. This would be a problem for Judaism, not Christianity, for in Christianity, we are justified by faith in Christ, not by the law. However, Jews are to follow the law which obviously we cannot uphold because we are finite and imperfect people, this is what calls for a savior.

All your questions can be easily explained, provided that you study beyond the answers you get at first sight.

God bless.

I did not read all of your dissertation, but resent you calling God Christian or Catholic. When are you ignorant unbelievers going to get it through your thick heads that Catholic is Christian along with Orthodox, and that Protestantism is a heresy.

Many of the questions are a false choice and thus cannot be answered with a yes or no.

Ask one question at a time please.

God bless you.
