Question:
Will it be ironic if it's shown one day that an atheist found proof of god?

Over 20 years ago, Sir Roger Penrose, atheist, published work on the the nature of consciousness which was picked up by Stuart Hameroff, head of anesthesiology at the University of Arizona and consciousness studies, who then joined with Penrose to work on a theory that there is a protoconconsciousness that we all draw from at the quantum level.
They were laughed at by the scientific community but, today, their theory is gaining ground as quantum coherence is being found existing at the macroscopic level in warmer, wetter and noisier environments. Something previously thought to be impossible.
They, or one their followers, very well may prove the existence of a preconsciousness that lays behind everything in the universe in the not so distant future. All thanks to an atheist.

Um what does this have to do with God? Assuming it were true, which there's still zero evidence of, it would only show "quantum consciousness" whatever that is exactly.

An actual atheist wouldn't find proof of god, he/she would find proof of something that theists would incorrectly interpret as proof of god. Like in the example you just mentioned.

Most atheists don't know that God is real you do though (you can tell with macroscopes)

The key word in this question is "if". A ‘proto-conscious’ state of mind is very different than the theory of a ‘proto-conscious’ entity. It's a far leap. You have to have something to study first.

Yes, considering that they claim to know the origin of the universe and yet cannot find a plane at the bottom of the sea......and that a planet that is 350 light years away in in our back yard when it would take mankind 38 years to exit our solar system in a "space ship" ......

It will probably have to be an Atheist who discovers a scientific God first because Theists will have more trouble accepting this generally than they do evolution but it may still happen and in many ways must happen , one thing religion is really good at is reformation to please the people as it should be.

It would be ironic, but I'm not going to hold my breath. Theists, after all, have been looking for and promising such evidence since the dawn of mankind, without success. Atheists haven't even been trying to find any, so if they did, it'd be a fluke.

Well, then that atheist wouldn't be an atheist anymore.
