Question:
Did God create Adam and Eve or did we evolve from apes?
?
2013-04-03 11:31:24 UTC
So it's either we evolved from apes or Adam and Eve were created by God?? So which one is true? and why is there so many different stories of how we came on Earth?

And two more little questions; if Adam and Eve were the first people on Earth, what language did they speak?:D x

And

If God created them, why did he make them an adult and not a child?

Sorry a lot of questions :) but I'm curious, please answer, many thanks xx

Only you can know which is true. Scientifically speaking we evolved from apes however it is your personal beliefs if you think God created Adam and Eve. There are so many different stories because almost every religion has a different theory of how humans came upon the Earth. It is most likely that Adam and Eve would have spoken Hebrew. God would have made them in order to reproduce and create a human race so they would need to be mature in order to do so. It is good that you're curious. Keep asking questions that's how you learn.

You bring up some great questions!

I believe the Bible tells us where we came from. If we following the reasoning of evolution, all the way back to when the big bang supposedly occurred, one must ask, "Where did the substances come from that caused the bang in the first place?" Spontaneous generation is just not plausible. Someone is behind all this, and that Someone is God. Christians take it on faith, just as evolutionists do because NO PERSON was at the world's beginning.

We don't really know what language they spoke and I'm not sure why God decided to create adults instead of children. I think it could possibly be to correctly make the picture that just as sin came into the world by 1 man (Adam) [note, not a child], there is redemption by 1 Man [Jesus.]

All I know is that I am here. I am here because my parents created me through the mating ritual. I know that I have ancestors. Ancestors with the same genetics as me. Ancestors that were human.

However, I cannot prove who my great great great great great great great great great grandfather or g.g.g.g.g.g.g.g.g.g.grandmother were. I have no photos, or records of their existence. Still, historical figures like King Richard iii can be proved to be who they were through DNA. This shows me proof and common sense that hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of years ago, humans were the same looking as they were now. But then if we go further back, before history was recorded, I personally cannot prove anything about my ancestors. Science searches for evidence, and shows us evidence. But the human mind sometimes cannot comprehend the theory that we came from apes. Sometimes, the human brain does not want to accept that we came from, a less intelligent species. The world just seems like, such, such a perfect creation. How could so many events create what we are. How could everything that has ever happened on this planet just give us a conscience to acknowledge it all. The human mind begins to truly believe that the scale of everything we know cannot be something made bu us. It's too, magnificent. And so, then there is the possibility of a creator. If man and woman were created by God, then I don't believe that he made just 'Adam' and 'Eve'. If he is out there, if what the Bible claimed was actually true, then God surely made more people and just landed them anywhere and everywhere. Who told the first story of Adam and Eve? Where was their proof? Did humans question anything from the moment they ever had a conscience? Stories are passed from one word of mouth to the other. In the ancient times, it took people a long time to actually begin recording everything down on a piece of rock. Stories get tangled, mis-interpreted....

Who knows. All I know is that I am here. And that is all that matters.

This question is purely based on opinion if you want to believe in the Bible it says that God first created Adam and then molded Eve out of his rib. He created them as adults so they could populate the Earth. If you want to believe evolution we evolved from apes or something similar to apes not exactly the same. In my opinion God created Adam and Eve because if you follow the evolution story why are we still not evolving today? Evolution doesn't stop just because we want to think it does. But you have to believe what you think is most logical do not let anyone push their opinion on you

An argument from ignorance = failure.

We did not evolve from apes, on the road we took to get here, APES took a different route, but we shared the same road WAY back for a bit until apes became apes and early human types became us.

We cant just say because we don't know all the answers god must have done it, we could just as easily say then that SATAN did it. When you start saying gods created things, you are repeating words ancient man did, he didn't have our knowledge so to him fire was made by god too.

The real answer is WE don't know how the universe was made, we know it behaves incredibly strange and at speeds its acting outside of our understanding. We can look at find clues and it will be some time before we put all the clues together to see how it all came to being as we know it.

Until then all we can say is we are part of it, and it is part of us and its here so it must exist, therefore it has always existed in some form. It was never made.

Evolution is a fact as secure as any fact we know in science. If God created man, why on earth do we have tail bones? Or appendixes? Or a nerve that goes from the brain down into the heart, that wraps its way around one of the main arteries, and then up to the voice box (its intended organ)? Why are our eyes build the wrong way round, with all of the nerves blocking the photosensitive cells? All of these are easily explained by evolution. And more to the point, there's evidence for it! Not just a bit, every single piece of evidence collected over the last 150+ years confirms the theory. Not only is it true, it's absolutely fascinating, and don't take my word for it, go and study it! Religious people will merely assert that evolution is a lie and Adam and Eve were created by god. They have no good defence of this idea and all evidence contradicts it. Don't be a slave to silly, made-up nonsense, when reality is so much more fascinating.

Both are incorrect. There is no God so scratch that idea. We also did not evolve from apes. Humans and apes are both descendents from a common ancestor which existed like 6 million years ago I believe. That creature wasn't what scientists would classify as an ape. It didn't look like a gorilla if that's what you think.

For more information you should ask about this in the biology section or look up human evolution in an encyclopaedia or watch some documentaries such as Walking with Cavemen.

We didn't exactly evolve from modern apes. We have a common ancestor that we both evolved from, but in different ways. They in turn evolved from other animals, which evolved from others, right back to the beginning of time when we evolved from amoeba that formed from the water. There was no Adam and Eve, species evolved over time. There are so many stories because in the beginning, before science came about, people were trying to explain where they came from.

We know without any doubt that homo sapiens evolved in east africa and were only one species of hominids amongst many. Neanderthals were another species that moved into europe several thousand years before homo sapiens. The fossil evidence for this has been confirmed by DNA studies. The Adam and Eve myth is just one of the many myths about creation made up by many different religions going back through the history of homo sapiens and is just nonsense

God created Adam and Eve. There are various versions as the devil tries to deceive man

They spoke Hebrew

He created adults so that they could procreate and fill the world
Paul
2013-04-03 11:38:59 UTC
Neither.

We evolved, like all other life on this planet. But not from apes. We share a common ancestor with apes -- that common ancestor was neither human nor ape, and from it both apes and humans evolved. That's what hundreds of millions of pieces of verified evidence show.

Adam & Eve are a rather silly myth -- they didn't speak any language, they never existed.

What? Why do you think these are the only alternatives? The Aztecs believe that in the beginning of the world, there was nothing but darkness. On great god named Ometeotl watched over this darkness in complete solitude. However, one day, Ometeotl gave birth to four other gods. These gods created the world, filling it with giants.

The god named Tezcatlipoca the Jaguar made himself into the sun. He ruled the world. But then, the god Quetzalcoatl knocked Tezcatlipoca into the ocean with a club. Quetzalcoatl turned himself into the sun. He appointed himself ruler of the world and created people with which to populate the earth. Tezcatlipoca returned and knocked Quetzalcoatl out of the sky. A great wind tore across the world, destroying everything except for a few people, who were turned into monkey.

Next, the god Tlaloc became the sun. He repopulated the earth with another group of people. However, in an attempt to regain his throne, Quetzalcoatl sent a rain of fire down upon the earth, killing all of Tlaloc’s people except the few that became birds. Then, the goddess Chalchiuhtlicue became the sun. However, during this war between the gods Tezcatlipoca caused great floods to cover the earth. All of the people drowned except for those who turned into fish.

Due to Tezcatlipoca’s actions, the entire earth was covered with water, with no land in sight. Finally, Tezcatlopoca and Quetzalcoatl stopped their quarrel and lifted the waters off of the earth. Then, Quetzalcoatl went to the land of the dead where the bones of the people lay. He tricked the god of the underworld, Mictlantechutli, into letting him take back the bones of the people back into the world. Quetzalcoatl then dripped his own blood onto the bones. The bones transformed into living, breathing people, the Aztecs.

REALLY! you would rather believe in some theory that no one has ever seen for them selves up close. has anyone ever seen an ape turn into a human?!?! i have seen an angel first hand but never evolution! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWraC-OUudc will have very use full points!

We didn't evolve from apes. Humans are tailless primates, which makes us apes. We evolved along side the other members of the Hominidiae (hominids, the great apes) family (Gorillas, Chimps, Orangutans and Bonobos) and share a common ancestor many hundreds of thousands (nee millions) of years ago.

We are decended from Bigfoot. Bigfoot is a Biblical character. The first Mormon martyr and an original Mormon Apostle, Davis W. Patten spoke with Bigfoot at least twice. Bigfoot revealed that he was the Biblical Cain, son of Adam whom God had cursed to wander the Earth to and fro until the day of the last judgment.

The Miracle of Forgiveness, p.127-128

On the sad character Cain, an interesting story comes to us from Lycurgus A. Wilson's book on the life of David W. Patten. From the book I quote an extract from a letter by Abraham O. Smoot giving his recollection of David Patten's account of meeting "a very remarkable person who had represented himself as being Cain."

As I was riding along the road on my mule I suddenly noticed a very strange personage walking beside me…. His head was about even with my shoulders as I sat in my saddle. He wore no clothing, but was covered with hair. His skin was very dark. I asked him where he dwelt and he replied that he had no home, that he was a wanderer in the earth and traveled to and fro. He said he was a very miserable creature, that he had earnestly sought death during his sojourn upon the earth, but that he could not die, and his mission was to destroy the souls of men. About the time he expressed himself thus, I rebuked him in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by virtue of the Holy Priesthood, and commanded him to go hence, and he immediately departed out of my sight….*

Both. We evolved biologically, the same as the other species God brought into existence. But humans are more than mere biological species. We have a spiritual nature and an immortal soul that could not have come into existence through any natural process. Which is just what the Bible says. First God formed the biological man from inorganic matter ("the dust of the Earth"), through an undescribed process over an unrevealed period of time. Science fills in this information for us. Then, once the biological man had been formed, God "breathed into him" spiritual life. At that moment the first human being came into existence, by a direct act of God.

Actually.. i still couldn't decide which choices to choose. Nothing is right or wrong, if sees it in a different perspectives

Or... it could be a combination of both? Adam and Eve are originally apes and gradually evolved to humans after millionth millionth of years.

Creationism and Protestantism are true, we all came from Adam and Eve.

Hebrew was most likely to be the original language of the Garden of Eden.

Man found in Palastine 400,000 years ago.

http://gizadeathstar.com/2012/02/man-in-palestine-400000-years-ago/

Contrary to the reigning evolutionary and genetic paradigm that holds that modern homo sapiens sapiens came from Africa, and migrated throughout the world, some 150,000-200,000 years ago. (Teeth are said only to be “similar” to modern man)

Over 400,000 years ago according to the Samarians, Annunaki (Group of deities in ancient Mesopotamian culture), came and set up a colony named Edin.

It was only YHWH and the Sons of God on earth. After YHWH and the sons of God hid their face a group of 200 beings of the Sons of God (The Nephilim were the offspring of the Sons of God), came back to earth, they were very attentive and begin to deceive humans, they also mixed their seed with the daughters of men.

The Nephilim were deprived and wicked thus destroyed. Genesis 6:4 and later Jos 6:2 and later David.

They fled to the new world and lied to human beings, again they were very attentive and influential in the self destruction of human beings. Celestial worship, Human sacrifices to false Gods ECT.

However after they were gone, them born of the flesh continued to enslave and destroy mankind - Galatians Chapter 4:29

Many waring empires which rose up against Judea (Which still do), and insane human trials.

Writing and pictorial evidence left behind by the Samarians going back 6000 years speak and depict people coming from another world who came with teaching.

In Lebanon - The ruins of Baalbek, according to Arabs said to have been built by a tribe of Giants for the Biblical King Nimrod consists of rocks no modern Crain can lift today.

The history of settlement in the area of Baalbek dates back about 9,000 years.

After the giants and the corrupt antediluvians were drowned in the Great Flood (3000 BC), we do not encounter giants again until the Israelites were ready to conquer the Promised Land.

When Abraham entered the land of Canaan in 2008 B.C Other sources date (1812 BCE to 1637 BCE), JEHOVAH promised him that after 430 years his descendants would inherit the Promised Land.

400 years later the land of Canaan was crawling with giants. Jericho was their main city which barred the entrance to the Promised Land.

JEHOVAH intervened supernaturally to defeat the GIANTS of Canaan.

Jos 6:2  And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour.

Most of the giants that escaped this divine destruction fled from the Middle East and found a refuge in The New World!!

Moses (1391–1271 BCE) marching with his people sent scouts ahead to Hevron, when the scouts returned they reported seeing giants. Numbers Chapter 13:33.

They continued north east to what is known today as Petra in Jordan, but that too as mentioned in the Bible was settled by Giants.

The Olmecs 1300 BC whom the Mayans succeeded of South America Believed a race of Giants existed before the great flood. Gigantic, semi-divine beings. http://www.reformation.org/new-world-giants.html

David and Goliath. (Reigned over Judah c. 1010–1003 BCE)

Goliath being the last of the giants (Hebrew: Golyat)

Hebrew Bible (Christian Old Testament)

Described as a giant Philistine warrior, he is famous for his combat with the young David, the future king of Israel. The fight between them is described in the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament and, more briefly, in the Qur'an.

The spiral shaped Gilgal Rephaim 40,000 thousand tons of stone (Rephaim - Hebrew for Giant), situated 50 miles from the Golan heights is a tomb of a giant.

The Israelites when writing their Bible wrote. For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants; behold his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was the length thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man.

Deuteronomy Chapter 3:11

Genesis 6:4

There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

The Greeks also talk about a time when immortals walked the earth.

Described as Angels in The Greek Apocalypse book of Baruch.
